Daylighting Performance of Lightpipe under Different Sky Conditions (천공상태에 따른 수직형 광파이프 시스템의 채광성능 평가)

  • The use of daylighting has been increased recently due to energy and visual comfort. The aims of interior daylighting are to adequately illuminate visual tasks, to create an attractive visual environment, and to save electrical energy. Lightpipe can improve the distribution of light to interior spaces. This study aims to evaluate the comparative daylighting performance of lightpipe under different sky conditions with mock-up model, sized $6m{\times}6m{\times}4m$ ($w{\times}d{\times}h$). For the purpose, perpendicular lightpipe system was designed as 650 diameter, with an aspect ratio of 2. Totally 49 measuring points of and two of outdoor illuminance on the horizontal plane were monitored from 09:00 to 18:30 on April 29 and May 15 2008. Agilent data logger and photometric sensor were used. Light factor were used to analyse daylight performance under different sky condition. Under overcast sky condition and clear sky condition, the lightpipe system is suitable for KS recommendation level of illuminance.

  • The cassegrain antenna, 32metor , diameter, is designed for the satellite earth station at Boun. It is fed by a beam waveguide of type. The results of measurements G/T (Gain to Noise Temperature ratio) is 40.86dB/K at the elevation elevation angle 5˚ for 4GHz. And the average transmit and receive gain are 64.62dB and 61.3dB, respectively. They satisfy the values designed for the antenna. The sidelobe levels of the pattern also are in good accord with the recommendation of C.C.I.R.

Optimization on Organoleptic Properties of Mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) Pickles using Response Surface Methodology (반응표면법을 이용한 양송이버섯 피클의 관능적 특성 최적화)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the organoleptic properties of mushroom pickles made at various compounding ratios according to central composite design for optimum organoleptic properties. In this study, various kinds of mushroom pickle were made at different compounding ratios of vinegar, sugar and salt-critical ingredients of the pickle recipe and the products were presented to an expert panel, who graded the subjects in 7 degrees for 5 items: color, flavor, hardness, taste and overall quality. As a result of sensory quality, mushroom pickles with 300g of vinegar, 150g of sugar and 60g of salt achieved the highest grade. Meanwhile, the results of Response Surface Methodology were different from the sensory quality results, showing that the optimum mixing conditions for overall organoleptic properties of mushroom pickle were 279.58g of vinegar, 179.34g of sugar and 59.09g of salt.   • Through this research, the rating data of shops were analyzed. The model was designed for discrete multiple classification as to the corresponding data, and the following experiments were initiated to observe the learned machine. By comparing each benchmarks in the experiments, which contains different setting variables for the machine model, the hit ratio was measured which indicates how much it is matched with the expected label. By analyzing those results from each benchmarks, the model was redesigned one time during the research and the effects of each setting variables on this machine were clarified. Furthermore, the research result left the future works, which are related with how the learning could be improved and what should be designed in the further research.

Determination of the Optimum Rates of P and K Fertilizer Application for Tong-il Line Rices in Different Paddy Soils (통일계(統一系) 수도품종(水稻品種)에 대(対)한 답토양별(畓土壤別) 인산(燐酸) 및 가리시비적량(加里施肥適量))

  • An attempt to determine the optimum levels of P and K fertilizers application for Tong-il lines (indica${\times}$Japonica) was made with the data obtained from the farm fields during 1976 to 1979. The detailed interpretation to obtains relationships between fertilizer recommendation of P and K with their balance with Ca and Mg contents in soil were made using yield data obtained in 1977. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The optimum rates of P and K fertilizer application varied with the kinds of paddy soils showing the ranges of 6.6-11.4 kg/10a for P (as $P_2O_5$) and 7.0-11.3 kg/10a for K (as $K_2O$). The amounts of optimum fertilizers increased in the order of unmatured soil, normal soil, sandy soil, saline soil, poorly drained soil for P, and unmatured soil, poorly drained soil, sandy soil, normal soil, saline soil for K. 2. The yield increment at the optimum levels of P and K in comparison with no fertilizer application were 3,5-7.5% for P and 2.1-9.1% for K. The effectiveness of P was greatest in the unmatured soils and that of K was greatest in the poorly drained soils, and in the saline soil, that of P and K was relatively high. 3. According to relationship between relative yield index and soil testing value, the critical $P_2O_5$ contents which showed the yield response in soil were about 100 ppm for normal soil and 200ppm for sandy soil. That of exchangeable K/Ka+Mg ratio in soil were about 0.08 for normal paddy soil and over 0.08 for sandy soil, and those for poorly drained soils were not obtained in the ranged below 0.08. 4. The regression equations of fertilizer recommendation for different soils were obtained between the available $P_2O_5$ in soil or ratio of K to base including Ca and Mg in soil (x) and the amount (Y) of P and K fertilizers applied. The equations for phosphorus recommendation were Y=11.27C-0.048x for normal paddy soil and Y=13.383-0.061x for sandy soil, and those for potassium recommendation were Y=9.526-0.569x for normal paddy soil, Y=11.727-1.004x for sandy soil, and Y=12.574-0.558x for poorly drained soil, respectively.

  • In a buyer-seller transaction process, 'value for money,' a measure of quality-price-ratio, is one of the most important criteria for buyers' purchasing decisions. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a method which helps online shoppers choose the best of several sellers offering homogeneous goods. We suggest FDH (free disposal hull) model, an applied model of data envelopment analysis (DEA), for online buyer-seller transactions and verify it with the data from an Internet comparison shopping site. For this purpose, we analyze consumer choice behaviors by examining how consumers respond to different sale conditions such as price, brand, or delivery time. Then, we implement a seller recommendation system to support buyers' purchasing decisions. We expect our FDH model to provide valuable information for rational buyers who want to pay the least price for high quality products/services and to be used in implementing automated evaluation processes in micro transactions. Moreover, we expect that our results can be utilized for sellers' benchmarking strategies which help sellers be more competitive by showing them how to attract buyers.

  • With the active utilization of Online Judge (OJ) systems in the field of education, various studies utilizing learner data have emerged. This research proposes a problem recommendation based on a user-based collaborative filtering approach with learner data to support learners in their problem selection. Assistance in learners' problem selection within the OJ system is crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of education as it impacts the learning path. To achieve this, this system identifies learners with similar problem-solving tendencies and utilizes their problem-solving history. The proposed technique has been implemented on an OJ site in the fields of algorithms and programming, operated by the Chungbuk Education Research and Information Institute. The technique's service utility and usability were assessed through expert reviews using the Delphi technique. Additionally, it was piloted with site users, and an analysis of the ratio of correctness revealed approximately a 16% higher submission rate for recommended problems compared to the overall submissions. A survey targeting users who used the recommended problems yielded a 78% response rate, with the majority indicating that the feature was helpful. However, low selection rates of recommended problems and low response rates within the subset of users who used recommended problems highlight the need for future research focusing on improving accessibility, enhancing user feedback collection, and diversifying learner data analysis.

  • The study was conducted to investigate the effect of whole-wheat ratio and nutrition information provision on purchasing behavior and consumer intention among individuals in their twenties who lack calcium intake. In the end, this study aims to provide basic data on the development and marketing strategy of customized nutrition-reinforced snacks. Regarding whole wheat ratios, the acceptance of taste of whole wheat flour was highest in ZF but didn't seem significant difference with HF's. The familiarity of taste and flavor (P <0.001), purchase intention (p <0.001) and recommendation intention (p <0.001) were higher in order of ZF, HF and TF. Regarding information provision, familiarity of taste and flavor (P <0.05), purchase intention (p <0.05) and recommendation intention (p <0.05) were higher in order of detailed information group, non - information group and simple information group. Therefore, developing calcium-fortified biscuit, mixing whole wheat flour with normal flour might reduce consumer's resistance, Also, providing detailed information on the degree of fortification of calcium and dietary fiber might cause a synergistic effect on consumption.

Dietary Variety and Nutrient Intake by 24-hour Recall in Korean College Students

  • Despite the universal recommendation to eat a variety of foods, we still do not know whether and to what extent the variety affects dietary quality. This study was performed to evaluate the dietary variety scores as tools for assessing the dietary quality of Korean young adults. The 1-day dietary intake data were collected from 144 male and 214 female college students (>18 years) using the 24-hour recall method Relative nutrient intake compared to Korean Recommended Dietary Allowance (KRDA) as the nutrient adequacy ratio (NAR), were computed Also, the mean adequacy ratio (MAR) was calculated. Dietary variety score (DVS) was determined by counting the number of food items consumed daily, and the dietary diversity score (DDS) by counting the number of food groups consumed daily. Results showed that DVS, DDS and MAR were significantly correlated to each other. The MAR score significantly increased as DDS increased in both men and women. When different DVS (20$\leqDVS\leq$ 30) was evaluated for its sensitivity, specificity, measured prevalence, true prevalence, and positive and negative predictive values towards MAR, DVS 21 was revealed to be optimal dietary variety score as a cutoff point to differentiate Korean young adults with or without an adequate and balanced diet. Nutrient intakes of subjects who had DVS<21 were significantly lower than those of subjects with DVS$\qeq$ 21. These results indicate that the dietary variety score appeared to be an effective tool for evaluating the adequacy of diet in Korean young adults.

The Properties of Livestock Waste Composts Tea Depending on Manufacturing Method and Their Effect on Chinese Cabbage Cultivation

  • Livestock waste compost tea is a liquid extract of compost obtained by mixing livestock compost. In this study, some chemical and microbiological characteristics of compost tea depending on the kind of raw materials used were examined, and several experiments to investigate the practical effects on Chinese cabbage cultivation were conducted. This experiment showed that livestock composts needed to be added into aerated water at the ratio between 1:100 and 1:10 (1 part compost to 10~100 parts water) to produce the high quality compost tea. Compost teas must be aerated more than 24 to 48 hours to be able to support aerobic organisms. In cultivation test with compost teas, swine manure compost teas were made by the extracting ratio of 50x, in the aerated condition for 24 hours in water and oil cake in the extracting ratio of 100x were added as supplements. Following the input of oil cake, the concentration of nitrogen and aerobic bacteria increased. Another experiment was conducted to determine the effect of different swine manure compost teas on plant growth and yield of Chinese cabbage. The fresh yield of Chinese cabbage was higher in the fertigated plots by compost tea with oil cake compared to those of N, $P_2O_5$, $K_2O$ fertilization plot with chemical fertilizer by soil test recommendation (Fert. NPK). The effect of compost tea on growth of Chinese cabbage was largely attributable to the increased number of microorganisms as well as nutrients.
