  • Recently, with the development of deep learning technology, research on recognizing human behavior is in progress. In this paper, a study was conducted to recognize risky behaviors that may occur in a single-person household environment using deep learning technology. Due to the nature of single-person households, personal privacy protection is necessary. In this paper, we recognize human dangerous behavior in privacy protection video with Gaussian blur filters for privacy protection of individuals. The dangerous behavior recognition method uses the YOLOv5 model to detect and preprocess human object from video, and then uses it as an input value for the behavior recognition model to recognize dangerous behavior. The experiments used ResNet3D, I3D, and SlowFast models, and the experimental results show that the SlowFast model achieved the highest accuracy of 95.7% in privacy-protected video. Through this, it is possible to recognize human dangerous behavior in a single-person household environment while protecting individual privacy.

  • Privacy-right infringement using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) usually occurs due to the unregistered small UAV with the image data processing equipment. In this paper we propose that privacy protection acts, Personal Information Protection Act, Information and Communications Network Act, are complemented to consider the mobility of image data processing equipment installed on UAV. Furthermore, we suggest the regulations for classification of small UAVs causing the biggest concern of privacy-right infringement are included in aviation legislations. In addition, technological countermeasures such as recognition of UAV photographing and masking of identifying information photographed by UAV are proposed.

  • Biometric recognition refers to a technology that identifies or verifies an individual after registering each individual's physical, physiological, and behavioral characteristics with an automated device. However, the biometric data used here corresponds to personal information since it can identify an individual. Therefore, when it is compromised or misused, it negatively affects the privacy of the data subject. In this paper, we review the current status of domestic laws related to biometric information and the status of infringements related to this. And then, some biometric application models are derived and vulnerabilities and countermeasures for each model are discussed. Finally, for the developer and service provider of the biometric system, protection guidance is presented.

  • This study examined the factors affecting the intention of the public to share electronic medical records(EMR) based on the theory of reasoned action and the privacy calculus model. It also investigated whether the purpose of EMR sharing varies depending on personal characteristics, such as the degree of interest in health and personal medical history. According to an online survey of 145 people, altruistic enjoyment, awareness of personal information protection, recognition of legal and institutional roles, and interest in health had a positive impact on the level of EMR sharing, and trust in hospitals positively adjusted the relationship between recognition of legal and institutional roles and sharing intentions. Accordingly, we confirmed that the public recognized the role of the government and hospitals in the sharing process as necessary. The public interest benefits of sharing are critical to activating public participation in the sharing of EMR, and it is also essential to prepare guidelines that legally guarantee the security and proper use of EMR.

  • There has been significant research in security technology such as e-passport standards, as e-passports have been introduced internationally. E-passports combine the latest security technologies such as smart card, public key infrastructure, and biometric recognition, so that these technologies can prevent unauthorized copies and counterfeits. Biometric information stored in e-passports is the most sensitive personal information, and it is expected to bring the highest risk of damages in case of its forgery or duplication. The present e-passport standards cannot handle security features that verify whether its biometric information is copied or not. In this paper, we propose an e-passport security technology in which biometric watermarking is used to prevent the copy of biometric information in the e-passport. The proposed method, biometric watermarking, embeds the invisible date of acquisition into the original data during the e-passport issuing process so that the human visual system cannot perceive its invisibly watermarked information. Then the biometric sample, having its unauthorized copy, is retrieved at the moment of reading the e-passport from the issuing database. The previous e-passport security technology placed an emphasis on both access control readers and anti-cloning chip features, and it is expected that the proposed feature, copy protection of biometric information, will be demanded as the cases of biometric recognition to verify personal identity information has increased.

  • From public insecurity, access of wealth, alteration of population structure, and changes of security recognition, physical security has been continuously developed and changed. In these days, typical systems for physical security are unmanned security system using telephone network and security equipment, image recognition system using DVR and camera, and access control system by finger print recognition and RFID cards. However, physical security system is broadening its domain towards ICT based convergence with networked camera, biometrics, individual authentication, and LBS services. This paper proposes main technical trends and various security convergences for future physical security services by classifying the security categories into 3 parts; Individual security for personal protection, IT Convergence for large buildings, and Homeland Security for omni-directional security.
