  • The pulsation of a reciprocating type hydrogen compressor is occurred from the mechanism and this pulsation makes much noise and vibration. To reduce this pulsation, snubber is usually installed on that. To maintain the efficiency in the reciprocating type hydrogen compressor, the pulsation and vibration should be reduced. so it is necessary to research about the characteristic of pulsation and vibration. Therefore in this paper, the vibration characteristic of the snubber is analyzed in the base of optimized modeling condition through the flowing analysis of existing snubber. The prototype of reciprocating type hydrogen compressor is analyzed with numerical analysis. And making sure the present condition of hydrogen compressor through measurement of vibration and noise, and then it is established that the vibration characteristic data base on numerical analysis which will be develope.

  • The reciprocating type hydrogen compressor is for high pressure and volume. However this type compressor makes pulsation caused by mechanical characteristic. This type compressor also makes noise and vibration that cause negative effect to machine and working condition. Therefore, diagnosis and countermeasure are needed to decrease vibration for safety on hydrogen compressor. therefore in this paper, the numerical analysis and vibration measurement is conducted in order to investigate vibration characteristic and to evaluation vibration condition, Respectively

  • The reciprocating type hydrogen compressor has a pulsation due to the reciprocative characteristics which results in noise and vibration. Snubber is installed for the relaxation of pulsation, but it causes reduction of compressor efficiency because of pressure loss. Five types of snubber were modeled for the numerical investigation of the effect of the relative position of inlet and outlet and buffer angle on the pulsation amplitude and pressure loss. MSC/NASTRAN is used as a numerical tool to identify the vibration characteristic of each type. Frequency responses in forced vibration mode are compared for various cases and buffer angles.

  • The reciprocating type hydrogen compressor is occurred by the pulsation from the mechanism and this pulsation is make much noise and vibration. Therefor snubber is installed for pulsation decreasing. The five type snubber models were designed for increasing pulsation amplitude reduction and decreasing pressure loss in snubber considering output pipe location as design value. And the pressure flued analysis is carried by CFD. In this paper, each type snubber according CFD result are analyzed by the MSC/NASTRAN to identify the vibration characteristic of each type. The vibration results are compared with CFD results.
