A Study on Transmitter and Receiver Design of Proximity Magnetic Sensor for Enhancement of Target Detection Range (표적 탐지거리 향상을 위한 근접자기센서 송수신기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • Proximity magnetic sensor is able to detect the object target accurately in close range and it has been widely used in the underwater guided weapon system because there is no countermeasures from the target. In order to increase the damage of target by shock wave due to explosion of the underwater guided weapon system, the maximum detection range of the proximity magnetic sensor needs to be increased. In this paper, we describe the techniques of the optimum transmitting and receiving coils design using the Finite Element Method for the output power enhancement of the transmitter and the sensitivity improvement of the receiver. Finally, the proposed design techniques of the transmitter and the receiver were verified using a experimental setup and a prototype.

Determining Nursing Student Knowledge, Behavior and Beliefs for Breast Cancer and Breast Self-examination Receiving Courses with Two Different Approaches

  • Background: This study aimed to determine nursing student knowledge, behavior and beliefs for breast cancer and breast self-examination receiving courses with a traditional lecturing method (TLM) and the Six Thinking Hats method (STHM). Materials and Methods: The population of the study included a total of 69 second year nursing students, 34 of whom received courses with traditional lecturing and 35 of whom received training with the STHM, an active learning approach. The data of the study were collected pre-training and 15 days and 3 months post-training. The data collection tools were a questionnaire form questioning socio-demographic features, and breast cancer and breast self-examination (BSE) knowledge and the Champion's Health Belief Model Scale. The tests used in data analysis were chi-square, independent samples t-test and paired t-test. Results: The mean knowledge score following traditional lecturing method increased from $9.32{\pm}1.82$ to $14.41{\pm}1.94$ (P<0.001) and it increased from $9.20{\pm}2.33$ to $14.73{\pm}2.91$ after training with the Six Thinking Hats Method (P<0.001). It was determined that there was a significant increase in pre and post-training perceptions of perceived confidence in both groups. There was a statistically significant difference between pre-training, and 15 days and 3 months post-training frequency of BSE in the students trained according to STHM (p<0.05). On the other hand, there was a statistically significant difference between pre-training and 3 months post-training frequency of BSE in the students trained according to TLM. Conclusions: In both training groups, the knowledge of breast cancer and BSE, and the perception of confidence increased similarly. In order to raise nursing student awareness in breast cancer, either of the traditional lecturing method or the Six Thinking Hats Method can be chosen according to the suitability of the teaching material and resources.

A Study on the Method for Measuring the live Calorific Value of LNG in storage tank using LNG Densitometer (LNG 밀도계를 이용한 저장 탱크 내 LNG 발열량 실시간 측정방법에 관한 연구)

  • The low caloric LNG, which didn't meet the gas interchangeability of Korea, has been imported from 2005 winter season. Amount of this LNG imports has been increased from year to year. In the near future, very low caloric LNG (calorific value ${\leq}$ 9,500 kcal/$Nm^3$) such as CBM, Shale LNG will be imported large amounts. For this reason, we need a method for monitoring live calorific values(CV) of LNG in each storage tank to supply gasified LNG with interchangeable CV at LNG receiving terminal. This study was conducted to develope the method for measuring the live CVs of LNG in each storage tank using LNG densitometer. For this purpose, the accurate correlation between CV and density of LNG was derived and the uncertainty of this method was evaluated and also the measuring system for CVs was constructed at LNG receiving terminal. To verify this method, the results of measurement using this method were compared with the field data of LNG analysis and the results showed that the deviations were 0.17~0.47%.

  • This paper gave a review of form factor computations in the luminous flux transfer method and practical application of DiLaura's recently developed form factor computation. A systematic analysis of how the results of a contour integration solution differ from those of existing numeric solutions were undertaken with a developed computer simulation program. Various situations between sending and receiving surfaces were considered, including the facing, size, and distance between surfaces.

  • Realization of autonomous agents that organize their own internal structure in order to behave adequately with respect to their goals and the world is the ultimate goal of AI and Robotics. Reinforcement learning gas recently been receiving increased attention as a method for robot learning with little or no a priori knowledge and higher capability of reactive and adaptive behaviors. In this paper, we present a method of reinforcement learning by which a multi robots learn to move to goal. The results of computer simulations are given.

  • Frequent outbreaks of foodborne illness have been increasing the awareness of agro-food safety. Conventional methods for pathogen detection and identification are labor.intensive and take days to complete. The increasing use of rapid food safety testing is receiving more and more attention. The major reason for this trend is that the food industry requires quick and accurate results. The rapid detection of contaminants in food is critical for ensuring the safety of consumers. Recent advances in technology make detection and identification faster, more sensitive and more specific than traditional method. In this paper, technology trends and recent developments in rapid methods for agro-food safety are discussed.

  • In this paper, the advantages of buffer insertion access method in comparison with other access methods to local area networks are analyzed. Sending and Receiving protocols in a data link layer are designed by a software method, We have derived both qeueing delays and the response time for the performance model that is proposed in this paper, and using the computer simulation, analyzed the performance for the proposed model in terms of the throughput rate- response time characteristrics. Based on the proposed model, the hardware design is implemented.

An efficient Color Edge Fuzzy Interpolation Method for improving a Chromatic Aberration (색수차 개선을 위한 효율적인 컬러 에지 퍼지 보간 방법)

  • Each pixels become got pixel value for color of only one from among colors because of bayer pattern that light receiving device of image sensor which is used in HHP and digital camera writes only one color. Information of the missing pixels could infer perfect color image from using information of neighbor pixels by using CFA(Color Filter Array). In this paper, we derive relation between the average of the data from the light receiving device of image sensor and each color channel data. And by using this relation, a new efficient edge color fuzzy method for color interpolation is proposed. Also, missing luminance signal channel interpolation was fuzzy interpolation along any edges direction for reducing color noise and interpolating efficiently it. And in this paper, the proposed method has been proved improving average 2.4dB than the conventional method by using PSNR. Also, resolution of the image of the proposed method was similar to the original image by visual images, we has been verified to be decreased a chromatic aberration than image of conventional algorithms with simulation result.

A Concurrency Control Method using Data Group Information in Mobile Computing Environments (이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 데이타 그룰 정보를 이용한 동시성 제어 방법)

  • In mobile computing environments, a mobile host caches the data items to use the bandwidth efficiently and improve the response time of transactions. If the data items cached in mobile host are updated in the server, the server broadcasts an invalidation report for maintaining the cache consistency of mobile hosts. However, this method has a problem that the response time of mobile transactions can be long since their commit decision is delayed until receiving the invalidation report from the server In this paper, we propose the USR-MT method for improving the response time of mobile transactions. As the UGR-MT method can make a commit decision by using the data group information before receiving the invalidation report, the response time of mobile transactions can be improved. Also our method can improve the cache's efficiency since it prevents all the contents of a cache from being invalidated in the case that the disconnection of a mobile host is longer than the broadcast period of invalidation report.
