We introduce an AFES(Adaptive Fuzzy Evaluation System) that applies an evaluation system used to existing LCMS(Learning Contents Management System) to a fuzzy reasoning rule. The AFES confers a course level on the learner through a fuzzy diagnostic evaluation before the learner enters a learning course. After the learner completes a learning course through the tailored learning path that is suitable for the learner's level, the AFES confers a final grade on the learner by means of fuzzy final evaluation. The biggest characteristic of the AFES is a grade rule of the final grade. Although different learners get the same number of correct answers to the same number of Questions, AFES flexibly confers the different final grade on the learner by means of the number of 125's fuzzy reasoning rules.

The use of the internet to facilitate commerce among companies promises vast benefits. Lots of e-marketplaces are building for several industries such as chemistry, airplane, and automobile industries. This study proposed new B2B EC business model for the shipping industry which concerns relatively massive fixed assets to be fully utilized. To be successful the proposed model gives participants to support useful information. To do this the expert system is constructed as the hybrid prediction system of neural network (NN) and memory based reasoning (MBR) with self-organizing map (SOM) and knowledge augmentaton technique using qualitative reasoning (QR). The expert system supports participants useful information coping with dynamic market environment. with this transportation companies are induced to participate in the proposed e-marketplace and helped for exchanges easily. Also participants would utilize their assets fully through B2B exchanges.

If a machine has some faults, we can detect them using vibration or noise signals. However some maintenance engineers who don\`t have export knowledge, need the help of vibration experts for diagnosing the machine. In this paper a case based reasoning (CBR) system is developed which is able to manipulate the past experiences of vibration diagnosis experts. In the CBR system, the maintenance engineers can retrieve the information form previous cases which are most similar to new problem s that they can solve new problem using solutions form the previous cases. In this paper, a new case retrieval method of CBR system using Petri net is proposed and also applied to diagnosis for electric motors as a practical problem.

This paper aims at the development of an knowledge base for an electrical fire cause diagnosis system using the entity relation database. The relation database which provides a very simple but powerful way of representing data is widely used. The system focused on database construction and cause diagnosis can diagnose the causes of electrical fires easily and efficiently. In order to store and access to the information concerned with electrical fires, the key index items which identify electrical fires uniquely are derived out. The knowledge base consists of a case base which contains information from the past fires and a rule base with rules from expertise. To implement the knowledge base, Access 2000, one of DB development tools under windows environment and Visual Basic 6.0 are used as a DB building tool. For the reasoning technique, a mixed reasoning approach of a case based inference and a rule based inference has been adopted. Knowledge-based reasoning could present the cause of a newly occurred fire to be diagnosed by searching the knowledge base for reasonable matching. The knowledge-based database has not only searching functions with multiple attributes by using the collected various information(such as fire evidence, structure, and weather of a fire scene), but also more improved diagnosis functions which can be easily wed for the electrical fire cause diagnosis system.
It is a major concern of e-shopping mall managers to satisfy a variety of customer's desire by recommending a proper product to the perspective purchaser. Customer information like customer's fondness, age, gender, etc. in shopping has not been used effectively for the customers or the suppliers. Conventionally, e-shopping mall managers have recommended specific items of products to their customers without considering thoroughly in a customer point of view. This study introduces the ways of a choosing and recommending of products using case-based reasoning and rule-based reasoning for customer themselves or others. A similarity measure between one member's idiosyncrasy and the other members' is developed based on the rule base and the case base. The case base is improved for the system intelligence by recognizing and learning the changes of customer's desire and shopping trend.

Fuzzy logic ignores some information in the reasoning process. Neural networks are powerful tools for the pattern processing, but, not appropriate for the logical reasoning. To model human knowledge, besides pattern processing capability, the logical reasoning capability is equally important. Another new neural network called neural logic network is able to do the logical reasoning. Because the fuzzy inference is a fuzzy logical reasoning, we construct fuzzy inference network based on the neural logic network, extending the existing rule- inference. network. And the traditional propagation rule is modified. For the search strategies to find out the belief value of a conclusion in the fuzzy inference network, we conduct a simulation to evaluate the search costs for searching sequentially and searching by means of search priorities.
As the amount of knowledge information significantly increases, a lot of progress has been made in the studies focusing on how to reason large scale ontology effectively at the level of RDFS or OWL. These reasoning methods are divided into TBox classifications and ABox realizations. A TBox classification mainly deals with integrity and dependencies in schema, whereas an ABox realization mainly handles a variety of issues in instances. Therefore, the ABox realization is very important in practical applications. In this paper, we propose a realization method for analyzing the constraint of the specified class, so that the reasoning system automatically infers the classes to which instances belong. Unlike conventional methods that take advantage of the object oriented language based distributed file system, we propose a large scale ontology reasoning method using spark, which is a functional programming-based in-memory system. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we used instances created from the Wine ontology by W3C(120 to 600 million triples). The proposed system processed the largest 600 million triples and generated 951 million triples in 51 minutes (696 K triple / sec) in our largest experiment.

In ubiquitous computing, invisible devices and software are connected to one another to provide convenient services to users [1][2]. Users hope to obtain a personalized service which is composed of customized devices among sharable devices in a ubiquitous smart space (which is called USS in this paper). However, the situations of each user are different and user preferences also are various. Although users request the same service in the same USS, the most suitable devices for composing the service are different for each user. For these user requirements, this paper proposes a device recommender system which infers and recommends customized devices for composing a user required service. The objective of this paper is the development of the systems for recommending devices through context-aware inference in peer-to-peer environments. For this goal, this paper considers the context and user preference. Also I implement a prototype system and test performance on the real ubiquitous mobile object (UMO).
A data model is a diagram that describes the properties of different categories of data and the associations among them within a business or information system. In spite of its importance and usefulness, data modeling activity requires not only a lot of time and effort but also extensive experience and expertise. The data models for similar business areas are analogous to one another. Therefore, it is reasonable to reuse the already-developed data models if the target business area is similar to what we have already analyzed before. In this research, we develop a case-based reasoning system for data model reuse, which we shall call CB-DM Reuser (Case-Based Data Model Reuser). CB-DM Reuse consists of four subsystems : the graphic user interface to interact with end user, the data model management system to build new data model, the case base to store the past data models, and the knowledge base to store data modeling and data model reusing knowledge. We present the functionality of CB-DM Reuser and show how it works on real-life a, pp.ication.
