  • This paper proposes the simulation algorithm of rear lamp of car using a ray tracing method that models transmission and refraction of light frequently used in computer graphics At first. To reproduce an image accurately. incident on a sight of viewer, we propose the backward ray tracing method based on spectral distribution representing physical characteristics of illuminant and object used in real. We implement the reproduction algorithm of rear lamp image applying the Bouguer-Beer's law to an optical absorptive phenomenon. As the result, more realistic image can be reproduced.

Fast Lamp Pairing-based Vehicle Detection Robust to Atypical and Turn Signal Lamps at Night

  • Automatic vehicle detection is a very important function for autonomous vehicles. Conventional vehicle detection approaches are based on visible-light images obtained from cameras mounted on a vehicle in the daytime. However, unlike daytime, a visible-light image is generally dark at night, and the contrast is low, which makes it difficult to recognize a vehicle. As a feature point that can be used even in the low light conditions of nighttime, the rear lamp is virtually unique. However, conventional rear lamp-based detection methods seldom cope with atypical lamps, such as LED lamps, or flashing turn signals. In this paper, we detect atypical lamps by blurring the lamp area with a low pass filter (LPF) to make out the lamp shape. We also propose to detect flickering of the turn signal lamp in a manner such that the lamp area is vertically projected, and the maximum difference of two paired lamps is examined. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a higher F-measure value of 0.24 than the conventional lamp pairing-based detection methods, on average. In addition, the proposed algorithm shows a fast processing time of 6.4 ms per frame, which verifies real-time performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • One of the most common engineering processes using plastics is the injection molding. In addition, plastics are utilized over the entire areas in our life including cars and home appliances among others for their characteristics with no deterioration even after a long time, as well as for their light weights in addition to their good durability. This paper aimed to minimize defects through prior analyses on the weld line, air traps, filling time, molding temperature and deformation patterns among others while carrying out interpretations on the cooling, filling and deformation in the injection process using the moldflow for rear lamp reflectors among components for a car in making parts through the coating process after injection.

  • 본 논문은 Rear Combination LED Lamp 동작 시 전류와 광출력의 변동폭를 최소화하는 LED 조명광원의 특성을 고려하여 정전류 회로의 구현이 유리한 DC/DC 컨버터의 EMC 고효율 필터를 제안하여 외부의 전자계로부터 장애를 유발하지 않고, 일정 수준의 전자파 환경에서도 오동작 없이 원할하게 작동될 수 있도록 관련 기기 상호간의 전파 환경을 개선하는 고효율 Filter를 제안 하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 Filter는 EMI 측정을 통해 타당성과 우수성을 검증하였다.

Head/Rear Lamp Detection for Stop and Wrong Way Vehicle in the Tunnel (터널 내 정차 및 역주행 차량 인식을 위한 전조등과 후미등 검출 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose head/rear lamp detection algorithm for stopped and wrong way vehicle recognition. It is shown that our algorithm detected vehicles based on the experimental analysis about the color information of vehicle's lamps. The simulation results show the detection rate about stopped and wrong way vehicles is achieved over 94% and 96% in the tunnel HD(High Definition) video image.

  • In this work, a coplanar-type plasma flat fluorescent lamp having cross type of electrode was fabricated by screen printing and sealing technique. Cross type of electrode with a dielectric layer were screen-printed on a rear glass plate, and then fired at $550^{\circ}C$. Phosphor was printed on and fired at $450^{\circ}C$. Finally, the lamp was sealed by frit glass at $450^{\circ}C$. The lamp of cross electrode type was studied depending on the electrode gap and the thickness of dielectric layer.

  • Necessities of a traffic means work a car in the modern society human to an usability of a life is enjoying. On the other hand, the damage by traffic accident increment the human quotient worked as we were in proportion to the vehicle which increased. Passing an examination moves necessarily on an obstacle to suddenly appear at the fronts if a car travels and the vehicles which stopped suddenly. Dynamic passing an examination about an obstacle turn on Vehicle Emergency Lamp to by hand when is unhurried, and can turn off, but to appear urgently dynamic passing an examination in time human is instinctive, but cannot inform an emergency to a back vehicle, and a rear-end collision occurs. A car we synthesize a speed of a vehicle, and this unit analyzes as we use GPS, and to drive runs Vehicle Emergency Lamp to automatic in the situations that shall turn on emergencies etc. If a speed of a vehicle continuously slows down in too high-speed driving or low-speed driving, or we are stopped, Vehicle Emergency Lamp is always turned on. It was built if we rise again as clearing itself from risk, and a speed of a vehicle judges, and we turn off Vehicle Emergency Lamp to automatic. It runs till rear-end collision sensor operates, and by hand reset does Vehicle Emergency Lamp a driving vehicle collides from behind to a back vehicle or when a driving vehicle was overthrown. It is shortened very much to the chain rear-end collision traffic accident that is a traffic accident of large size if we use this unit. And we did authentication through the experiment which a driver was helpful to unnecessary operation and a relaxed safe driving during drivings.

  • In this study, we used screen printing on the rear glass with silver electrodes, phosphor and a dielectric which is on the silver electrodes, and carried out firing in the temperature of $550^{\circ}C$, $570^{\circ}C$, $450^{\circ}C$ each. To seal the rear and top glass together, we used crystalline frit paste as a sealing material with dispenser and carried out firing up to $450^{\circ}C$. As using this panel, we focused on optimizing the condition which influences characteristics of discharging by the distance between electrodes, electrode structure, type and pressure of gases for FFL.

  • In this paper, we present a night-time vehicle detection method using CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) classification. The camera based night-time vehicle detection plays an important role on various advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as automatic head-lamp control system. The method consists mainly of thresholding, labeling and classification steps. The classification step is implemented by existing CIFAR-10 model CNN. Through the simulations tested on real road video, we show that CNN classification is a good alternative for night-time vehicle detection.
