Representing Navigation Information on Real-time Video in Visual Car Navigation System

  • Car navigation system is a key application in geographic information system and telematics. A recent trend of car navigation system is using real video captured by camera equipped on the vehicle, because video has more representation power about real world than conventional map. In this paper, we suggest a visual car navigation system that visually represents route guidance. It can improve drivers' understanding about real world by capturing real-time video and displaying navigation information overlaid directly on the video. The system integrates real-time data acquisition, conventional route finding and guidance, computer vision, and augmented reality display. We also designed visual navigation controller, which controls other modules and dynamically determines visual representation methods of navigation information according to current location and driving circumstances. We briefly show implementation of the system.

철도차량의 주행에너지 절약을 위한 열차 주행 패턴 모델링 (Modeling of the driving pattern for energy saving of the railway vehicles)

  • 철도기술의 발전 이후 현재 도시철도에서는 국내 처음으로 열차의 안전한 운행 제어를 위한 자동/무인 운전이 가능한 자동 열차 운행 장치(ATO)를 도입해 안정적으로 정시 운행을 하고 있다. ATO 자동운전은 제어기준 값(목표속도)과 피드백 값(실제속도)간의 오차에 의한 전동차의 역행과 제동을 반복함으로 에너지 효율 낮다. 본 논문에서는 고정된 역간 거리를 정해진 운전 시분 내에 주행에너지를 최소화하며 주행하는 열차의 특성을 파악하고 모델링한다. 따라서 5호선 실 노선 구간별 운전시분 내에서 실측 데이터 분석을 위해 직선구간/구배구간/곡선구간 등 구간을 선정하고 그 구간에서 열차의 주행패턴에 따라 변화하는 주행에너지를 최소화하는 최적의 주행 패턴을 제시하였다.

실시간 야지주행 시뮬레이션을 위한 3차원 가상노면의 구성 및 적용에 대한 연구 (Study on the 3D Virtual Ground Modeling and Application for Real-time Vehicle Driving Simulation on Off-road)

  • Virtual ground modeling is one of key topic for real-time vehicle dynamic simulation. This paper discusses about the virtual 3D road modeling process using parametric surface concept. General road data is a type of lumped position vector so interpolation process is required to compute contact of internal surface. The parametric surface has continuity and linearity within boundaries and functions are very simple to find out contact point. In this paper, the parametric surface formula is adopted to road modeling to calculate road hight. Position indexing method is proposed to reduce memory size and resource possession, and a simple mathematical method for contact patch searching is also proposed. The developed road process program is tested in dynamic driving simulation on off-road. Conclusively, the new virtual road program shows high performance of road hight computation in vast field of off-road simulation.

  • Vehicle driving simulators can provide engineers with benefits on the development and modification of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity given by a motion system and a real-time visual image generation system. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to achieve high fidelity. In this paper the virtual environment including a visual system like a head-mounted display is developed for a vehicle driving simulator system by employing the virtual reality technique. virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Accordint to the object model a three dimensional graphic model is developed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/E. For the real-time image generation the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. Compared with the single loop apprach the proposed methodology yields an acceptable image generation speed 20 frames/sec for the simulator.

  • In this study, a real-time simulation system and a washout algorithm for an excavator have been developed for a driving simulator with six degrees of freedom. The excavator model consisting of a boom. bucket, upper frame, lower frame and four wheels, has total 11 degrees of freedom. The suggested washout algorithm consists of high and low pass filters with second order. The high pass filters cut off low frequency of the motion cues limited by platform motion. The cut off frequency for the tilt coordination are suggested for a realistic regeneration of excavator motion.

실시간 운전자 호흡 모니터링 (Real Time Driver's Respiration Monitoring)

  • Real time driver's respiration monitoring method for detecting driver's drowsiness is investigated. The sensor to obtain driver's respiration signal was a piezoelectric pressure sensor attached at the abdominal region of the seat belt. The resistance of the pressure sensor was changed according to the pressure applied to the seat belt due to the driver's respiration. Monitoring driver's respiration was carried out by driving on the virtual road in a driving simulator from Cheonan to Seoul and monitoring results were compared to the PELCLOS. Experiment results show that the driver's respiration signal can be used for detecting driver's drowsiness.

궤적주행 시 차체 종류에 따른 비틀림에 관한 연구 (Study on Torsion due to Automotive Body Type at Track Driving)

  • 카트 차체에는 현가장치와 차동장치가 존재하지 않으므로 카트주행 중 발생하는 프레임의 변형은 탄성변형으로 인한 주행성능과 프레임의 피로수명에 영향을 미친다. 선회주행 시 비틀림 변형에 의한 카트의 거동은 이 두 가지 변형에 결정적 원인을 제공한다. 이러한 곡선구간에서 카트의 동적 거동을 분석하기 위하여 GPS를 이용하여 차량의 궤적을 추적하고 카트 프레임 강에 작용하는 비틀림 응력을 측정하였다. 레저와 레이싱 카트 프레임의 기계적 성질을 파악하기 위해 재질 분석과 인장시험을 실시하여 각 프레임의 재료 특성을 분석하였다. 비틀림 응력집중과 프레임 비틀림은 프레임 해석을 통해 조사되었다. 또한 주행 분석 장치를 이용하여 레저와 레이싱 카트를 각 조건별로 실차실험을 수행하였고, 이를 통해 곡선구간에서 카트의 주행거동을 분석하였다. 선회주행 시 차량에 원심력에 의한 하중이동의 현상이 발생했으며, 이로 인해 카트 프레임 강에 비틀림 응력이 발생하였다.

The Impact of Housing Price on the Performance of Listed Steel Companies Evidence in China

  • Purpose - This study explores the impact of the real estate industry on related industries for the perspective of Chinese steel companies. Design/methodology/approach - The impact of housing prices on the 41 listed steel companies' performance was analyzed by using the panel data model. We used two kinds of housing price indexes that are set in the panel data models to estimate the range of the real estate market, driving the performance growth of steel listed companies. Moreover, the net profit of steel companies is used as the dependent variable. To test the stability of the model, ROA used as a dependent variable for the robustness test. Also, to avoid the time trend of housing prices, this paper selects the growth rate of housing prices as the primary research variable. After Fisher-type testings, there is no unit root problem in both independent and dependent variables. Findings - The results indicated that the rise in the housing price has a positive influence on the steel company performance. When the housing price increases by 1%, the net profit of steel enterprises will increase by 5 to 20 million yuan. Research implications or Originality - In this paper, empirical data at the micro-level and panel model are used to quantify China's real estate industry's driving effect on the iron and steel industry, providing evidence from the microdata level. It helps us to understand further the status and role of China's real estate industry in the economic structure.

저 사양 프로세서를 위한 실시간 주행 방향점 검출 기법 (A Real-time Detection Method for the Driving Direction Points of a Low Speed Processor)

  • In this paper, the real-time detection method of a DDP (Driving Direction Point) is proposed for an unmanned vehicle to safely follow the center of the road. Since the DDP is defined as a center point between two lanes, the lane is first detected using a web camera. For robust detection of the lane, the binary thresholding and the labeling methods are applied to the color camera image as image preprocessing. From the preprocessed image, the lane is detected, taking the intrinsic characteristics of the lane such as width into consideration. If both lanes are detected, the DDP can be directly obtained from the preprocessed image. However, if one lane is detected, the DDP is obtained from the inverse perspective image to guarantee reliability. To verify the proposed method, several experiments to detect the DDPs are carried out using a 4 wheeled vehicle ERP-42 with a web camera.

  • 본 논문에서는 상태변화에 대한 자율적 의사결정을 하는 퍼지논리를 이용한 에이전트의 구현을 택시에 적용 하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 인공 지능 이론을 기반으로 한 실시간 반응형 에이전트를 통하여 인공 지능적으로 운행하는 자동차에 대해서 실험을 하였다. 실시간 반응형 에이전트를 구성하기 위한 추론방식으로는 max-product 기법과 n개 퍼지 규칙들 또는 연관들 ($A_l,\;B_l),\;{\ldots}(A_n,\;B_n$)을 가지는 상황을 고려하여 비퍼지화 작업을 수행하여 중심값을 추출하여 추론 작업을 실행하였다.
