  • A real-time HVAC system is proposed which implements real-time control of thermal environment for virtual reality. It consists of a pair of hot and cold loops that serve as thermal reservoirs, and a mixing box to mix hot and cold air streams flowing if from loops. Their flow rates are controlled in real-time to meet a set temperature and flow rate. A cascade control algorithm along with gain scheduling is applied to the system and test results shows that the closed-loop response approached set values within 3 to 4 seconds.

  • Early detection in real-time response of slope movements ensures tremendous saving of lives and repair costs from catastrophic disaster. Therefore, it is essential to constantly monitor the performance and integrity of slope-stabilizing structures such as Rock bolt, Nail and Pile during or after installation. We developed a novel monitoring system using Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor. It's advantages are highly sensitivity, small dimension and electro-magnetic immunity. capability of multiplexing, system integrity, remote sensing - these serve real-time health monitoring of the structures. Real-time strain measurement by the signal processing program is shown graphically and it gives a warning sound when the monitored strain state exceeds a given threshold level so that any sign of abnormal disturbance on the spot can be easily perceived.

As the utilization of renewable resources has been receiving considerable attention in recent years, the information system requirement is increased. Specially, the reliability information system is more important for implementing the smart grid. This paper describes architecture of the WORRIS(Web based Online Real-time Reliability Integrated Information System) Version 7.0 system that simulates the reliability indices in composite power system considering wind turbine generators(WTG) developed successfully in this paper. And we had simulated the case study using Jeju island power system data.

China hackers access a third country, bypassing South Korea IP by hacking the e-commerce sites with fake account, that incident was damaging finance. In this paper, for WiBro service, DDoS attacks, hackers, security incidents and vulnerabilities to the analysis. From hacker's attack, WiBro service's prognostic relevance by analyzing symptoms and attacks, in real time, Divide Red, Orange, Yellow, Green belonging to the risk rating. For hackers to create a blacklist, to defend against attacks in real-time air-conditioning system is the study of security. WiBro networks for incident tracking and detection after the packets through the national incident response should contribute to the development of technology.

  • The incidents related to transporting hazardous materials may cause serious impacts on neighborhood and surrounding areas. It is essential to have a real-time safe management system for incidents prevention of transporting hazardous materials. Currently, the system is not integrated into one channel, which makes it difficult to control an incidents response. Another problem is that event status is not appropriately shared among authorities having responsibilities taking down the incidents. This paper investigates previous studies covering the real-time safety management system for hazard material transports and suggests an integrated management system that helps communicate effectively and promptly.

  • Handwritten letter recognition is important for numerous real-world applications and many topics like human-machine interaction, education, entertainment, and more. This paper describes the implementation of a real-time handwritten letters recognition system on a common embedded computer. Recognition is performed using a customized convolutional neural network, which was designed to work with low computational resources such as the Raspberry Pi platform. The experimental results show that the proposed real-time system achieves an outstanding performance in the accuracy rate and the response time for recognition of twenty-six handwritten letters.

  • The need for assessing dynamic response of typical industrial piping systems subjected to seismic loading motivated the authors to apply model reduction techniques to experimental dynamic substructuring. Initially, a better insight into the dynamic response of the emulated system was provided by means of the principal component analysis. The clear understanding of reduction basis requirements paved the way for the implementation of a number of model reduction techniques aimed at extending the applicability range of the hybrid testing technique beyond its traditional scope. Therefore, several hybrid simulations were performed on a typical full-scale industrial piping system endowed with a number of critical components, like elbows, Tee joints and bolted flange joints, ranging from operational to collapse limit states. Then, the favourable performance of the L-Stable Real-Time compatible time integrator and an effective delay compensation method were also checked throughout the testing campaign. Finally, several aspects of the piping performance were commented and conclusions drawn.

  • A flooding attack, such as DoS or Worm, can be easily created or even downloaded from the Internet, thus, it is one of the main threats to servers on the Internet. This paper presents an online real-time network response system, which can determine whether a LAN is suffering from a flooding attack within a very short time unit. The detection engine of the system is based on the incremental mining of fuzzy association rules from network packets, in which membership functions of fuzzy variables are optimized by a genetic algorithm. The incremental mining approach makes the system suitable for detecting, and thus, responding to an attack in real-time. This system is evaluated by 47 flooding attacks, only one of which is missed, with no false positives occurring. The proposed online system belongs to anomaly detection, not misuse detection. Moreover, a mechanism for dynamic firewall updating is embedded in the proposed system for the function of eliminating suspicious connections when necessary.

  • There are many factors that influence the image quality of CMOS camera images, among which the image exposure time is an important factor. If the image exposure time is long, the entire image on the screen becomes brighter. If the exposure time is shorter, the entire image becomes darker. When photographing a still image, real time is not required because the automatic exposure system is given sufficient time to obtain an appropriate exposure time. However, if the surroundings and environment change rapidly like the black box of a driving car, the exposure time should be applied in response to real time. To this end, a robust automatic exposure system for real-time performance and ambient light environment is required. An automatic exposure system that has real-time capability and is robust against the ambient light environment is required. we designed a real-time control sysem capable of parallel operation processing through the design of an embedded system using zynq's logic and ARM core, and developed a real-time CMOS automatic exposure system that is robust to noise and converges to a desired target value within 66 ms through PID control.

  • This paper presents real-time hybrid test method of large-scale MR damper applied to a building structure under seismic excitation. The real-time hybrid test using an actuator for the control performance evaluation of a MR damper controlling the response of earthquake-excited building structure is experimentally implemented. In the test, the building structure is used as a numerical part, on which a large-scale MR damper adopted as an experimental part was installed to reduce its response. At first, the force that is acting between a MR damper and building structure is measured from the load cell attached on the actuator system and is fed-back to the computer to control the motion of the actuator. Then, the actuator is so driven that the error between the interface displacement computed from the numerical building structure with the excitations of earthquake and the fed-back interface force and that measured from the actuator. The control efficiency of the MR damper used in this paper is experimentally confirmed by implementing this process of experiment on real-time.
