Design and Implementation of Advanced Traffic Monitoring System based on Integration of Data Stream Management System and Spatial DBMS

  • The real-time traffic data is generated continuous and unbounded stream data type while intelligent transport system (ITS) needs to provide various and high quality services by combining with spatial information. Traditional database techniques in ITS has shortage for processing dynamic real-time stream data and static spatial data simultaneously. In this paper, we design and implement an advanced traffic monitoring system (ATMS) with the integration of existed data stream management system (DSMS) and spatial DBMS using IntraMap. Besides, the developed ATMS can deal with the stream data of DSMS, the trajectory data of relational DBMS, and the spatial data of SDBMS concurrently. The implemented ATMS supports historical and one time query, continuous query and combined query. Application programmer can develop various intelligent services such as moving trajectory tracking, k-nearest neighbor (KNN) query and dynamic intelligent navigation by using components of the ATMS.

Half-hourly Rainfall Monitoring over the Indochina Area from MTSAT Infrared Measurements: Development of Rain Estimation Algorithm using an Artificial Neural Network

  • Real-time rainfall monitoring is of great practical importance over the highly populated Indochina area, which is prone to natural disasters, in particular in association with rainfall. With the goal of d etermining near real-time half-hourlyrain estimates from satellite, the three-layer, artificial neural networks (ANN) approach was used to train the brightness temperatures at 6.7, 11, and $12-{\mu}m$ channels of the Japanese geostationary satellite MTSAT against passive microwavebased rain rates from Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Microwave Imager (TMI) and TRMM Precipitation Radar (PR) data for the June-September 2005 period. The developed model was applied to the MTSAT data for the June-September 2006 period. The results demonstrate that the developed algorithm is comparable to the PERSIANN (Precipitation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks) results and can be used for flood monitoring across the Indochina area on a half-hourly time scale.

AJAX를 이용한 소방엔진펌프의 모니터링과 제어 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Monitoring and Control System for Fire Engine Pump using the AJAX)

  • In this paper, the fire engine pump is controlled and monitored by the AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and Xml) in the web server. The embedded system with built-in system having a processor and a memory of high performance occurs many problems in transmitting the large amount of data in real time through the web server. The AJAX is different from HTML (Hyper Text Makeup Language) with java script technology and can make RIA (Rich Internet Application). It process the necessary data by using asynchronous and it take advantage of usefulness, accessibility, a fast response time. Using AJAX can build up web server with real time and monitoring that fire engine pump status, check processing pump memory in the event of fire, also remotely monitors can do. The web server system can control the fire engine pump as like the black box. The experimental results show the effectiveness and commercialize possibility.

  • 최근 무선통신 및 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 기술의 확대로 다양한 환경에서 정보를 수집, 가공 할 수 있게 되었다. 특히 센서들의 크기가 소형화되면서 노드의 개수도 많아짐에 따라 이웃노드와의 채널간섭 및 충돌, 에너지 소모 등의 문제가 대두되었다. 본 논문에서는 지하공간에서 효율적인 통신을 위하여 비컨을 사용하고 TinyOS기반으로 설계 및 구현하여, 멀티홉 메쉬 구조에 적합한 무선 센서 네트워크를 구축하였다. 구현한 프로토콜은 비컨 간의 충돌방지를 위한 스케줄링을 제공하여 안정적인 Association이 가능하도록 하였으며, NAA(Next Address Assignment) 기법을 이용하여 동적인 주소할당과 재사용을 지원한다. 또한 실시간 정보처리를 위한 지식정보 서버를 구축하였다. 끝으로 실제 테스트베드 구축을 통하여 화재, 대기오염 등 다양한 환경에서의 높은 전송률을 가짐을 보인다.

A Real-Time PCR Assay for the Quantitative Detection of Ralstonia solanacearum in Horticultural Soil and Plant Tissues

  • A specific and rapid real-time PCR assay for detecting Ralstonia solanacearum in horticultural soil and plant tissues was developed in this study. The specific primers RSF/RSR were designed based on the upstream region of the UDP-3-O-acyl-GlcNAc deacetylase gene from R. solanacearum, and a PCR product of 159 bp was amplified specifically from 28 strains of R. solanacearum, which represent all genetically diverse AluI types and all 6 biovars, but not from any other nontarget species. The detection limit of $10^2\;CFU/g$ tomato stem and horticultural soil was achieved in this real-time PCR assay. The high sensitivity and specificity observed with field samples as well as with artificially infected samples suggested that this method might be a useful tool for detection and quantification of R. solanacearum in precise forecast and diagnosis.

실시간 모니터링을 통한 레일절손 검지에 관한 연구 (A Study of Detecting Broken Rail using the Real-time Monitoring System)

  • Train accidents can be directly connected to fatal accidents-collision, derailment, Fire, railway crossing accidents-resulting in tremendous human casualties. First of all, the railway derailment is not only related to most of railway accidents but also it can lead to much more catastrophic accompanying train overtured than other factors. Therefore, it is most important factor to ensure railway safety. some foreign countries have applied to the detector machines(e.g., ultrasonic detector car, sleep mode, current detector, optical sensing, optical fiber). Since it was developed in order to prevent train from being derailed. In korea, the existing track method has been used to monitor rail condition using track circuit. However, we found out it impossible for Communication Based Train Control system(CBTC), recent technology to detect rail condition using balise(data transmission devices) without no track circuit. For this reason, it is needed instantly to develop real-time monitoring system used to detect broken rails. Firstly, this paper presents domestic and international statues analysis of rail breaks technology. Secondly, the composition and the characteristics of the real-time monitoring system. Finally, the evidence that this system could assumed the location and type of broken rails was proved by the experiment of prototype and operation line tests. We concluded that this system can detect rail break section in which error span exist within${\pm}1m$.

u-IT기반 계측정보를 이용한 급경사지붕괴 예측 시스템 개발 (The Development of Landslide Predictive System using Measurement Information based on u-IT)

  • 본 논문은 급경사지(산사태 및 사면붕괴, 축대 등)붕괴 등으로 인하여 많은 생명과 재산피해 방지를 목적으로 붕괴 위험성을 감지하고 신속히 대응을 할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 u-IT기반의 급경사지 붕괴예측 감시용 실시간 모니터링 시스템을 개발하였다. 급경사지붕괴 감시에 중요한 계측기로서 강우량 계측기, 간극수압 계측기, 지표변위 계측기, 지중경사 계측기, 함수비계측기, 영상분석 계측기 등을 선정하고 테스트베드에 적용하였다. 각 계측기의 신뢰성 검증에 필요한 동작기능 및 성능확인은 현장에 설치된 계측기 별로 실험을 통하여 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 급경사지붕괴 감지를 위한 USN기반의 실시간 급경사지 모니터링 시스템을 급경사지 붕괴감지뿐만 아니라 도로변 절개사면과 암반사면 등에 상시계측을 통하여 붕괴위험 예측에도 적용할 수 있으므로 인명피해와 재산피해를 최소할 수 있을 것으로 판단되며, 이 시스템은 본 연구의 시범적용 결과를 바탕으로 급경사지 전역에 확산될 계획에 있다.

Real-time Monitoring of Colloidal Nanoparticles using Light Sheet Dark-field Microscopy Combined with Microfluidic Concentration Gradient Generator (μFCGG-LSDFM)

  • For real-time monitoring of colloidal nanoparticles (NPs) in aqueous media, a light sheet type dark-field microscopy system combined with a microfluidic concentration gradient generator (${\mu}FCGG$-LSDFM) was developed. Various concentrations of colloidal Au NPs were simultaneously generated with the iFCGG and characterized with the LSDFM setup. The number concentrations and hydrodynamic size distributions were measured via particle counting and tracking analysis (PCA and PTA, respectively) approaches. For the 30 nm Au NPs used in this study, the lower detection limit of the LSDFM setup was 3.6 ng/mL, which is about 400 times better than that of optical density measurements under the same ${\mu}FCGG$ system. Additionally, the hydrodynamic diameter distribution of Au NPs was estimated as $39.7{\pm}12.2nm$ with the PTA approach, which agrees well with DLS measurement as well as the manufacturer's specification. We propose this ${\mu}FCGG$-LSDFM setup with features of automatic generation of NP concentration gradient and real-time monitoring of their physicochemical characteristics (e.g., number concentration, and hydrodynamic size distribution) as an important component of future high-throughput screening or high-content analysis platforms of nanotoxicity.

무선센서 네트워크 계측을 이용한 저수지 및 제방 계측시스템 구축에 관한 기초연구 (Basic Study on Monitoring System of Reservoir and Leeve Using Wireless Sensor Network)

  • 저수지 및 제방에서의 계측은 가장 높이가 높은 구간을 선정하여 계측기를 매설하고 측정하는 집중계측 방식으로 최근에는 자동화 계측기술이 발달되어 실시간으로 계측결과가 관리사무소로 전달 및 수집, 저장되고 있다. 실시간 계측기술이 발달되었음에도 불구하고 계측결과가 시설물 관리와는 직접적으로 이용되지 못하고 있다. 최근 사물인터넷 기반의 무선 센서 네트워크 계측기술이 발달함에 따라 본 연구에서는 저수지 및 제방 구조물에 무선센서 네트워크 기술을 기반의 실시간 계측 및 평가시스템을 제안하였다. 적용성 평가를 위한 침투해석 결과 저수위 변화에 따라 제체 내부의 침윤선 변화와 함께 토체의 체적함수비가 함께 변화하여 체적함수비를 센서 노드로 설정한 계측시스템의 적용성을 확인하였다.
