As of September 2002, there are more than 60 operational permanent Global Positioning System (GPS) stations in South Korea. Their data are being used for a variety of purposes: geodynamics, geodesy, real-time navigation, atmospheric science, and geography. Especially, many of the sites are reference stations for DGPS (Differential GPS). However, there has been no comprehensive and qualitative analysis published to evaluate the data quality. In this study, we present preliminary results of our assessment of the permanent GPS sites in South Korea. We have analyzed the multi-path characteristics of each station using a quality-checking software package called TEQC. Another multipath analysis tool based on post-fit phase residuals was used to check the repeating patterns and the amount of the multipath at each site. The long-term stability of each station was analyzed using the root-mean-square (RMS) error of the estimated site positions for one year, which enabled us to evaluate the mount stability. In addition, the number of cycle slips at each site was derived by TEQC. Based on these series of tests, we compared the stability and data quality of permanent GPS stations in South Korea.
This paper describes a development of next generation information remote retrieval and warning system that enables the user to make slope information retrieval remotely for a rockfall and landslide disaster reduction from mobile environments. And this system will be able to warn with a real-time stability condition about the slope which circumference are contiguous in standard user location. Slope information which provides to the user, become the service which upgrades from depth deep information directness will be able to confirm in order from field with applies multimedia style information which is various. In order to retrieve slope information with the wire and wireless internet from the remote place, we used mobile PC carrying is simple. Also this system attached GPS receiver to mobile PC in order to confirm user location as a real-time from the electronic map from field. Specially this system user location divide the safety of the slope which within the area where are fixed in the center are representative with 'safe area', 'collapse area' and 'collapse forecast area' etc. And to indicate with the icon of each other different color simultaneously in the electronic map. With like that reason, this system which sees the user even while moving safety condition about circumferential slope from the electronic map is having the strong point will be able to grasp with a real-time in one eye. Also warning message leads at the case real-time when the collapse will occur in specific slope, to inform to the user. Therefore this system which sees will be able to reduce the disaster which is caused by in landslide a very big strong point and has.

Fault location identification in the transmission line is an essential part of quick service restoration for maintaining a stable in power system. The application of digital schemes to protection IEDs has led to the development of digital fault locators. Normally, the impedance measurement had been used to for the location detection of transmission line faults. It is well known that the most accurate fault location scheme uses two-ended measurements. This paper deals with the complete design of a fault locator using GPS time-synchronized phasor for transmission line fault detection. The fault location algorithm uses the transmitted relaying signals from the two-ended terminal. The fault locator hardware consists of a Main Processor Unit, Analog Digital Processor Unit, Signal Interface Unit, and Power module. In this paper, sample real-time test cases using COMTRADE format of Omicron apparatus are included. We can see that the implemented fault locator identified all the test faults.

GPS radio occultation is a remote sensing technique probing atmospheric properties based on the fact that GPS signal is refracted and delayed by atmosphere. The FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC mission jointly developed by the USA and Taiwan is providing about 2500 occultation soundings a day on the near real-time basis. The Korean KOMPSAT-5/AOPOD system is preparing to launch for monitoring troposphere and ionosphere using a dual frequency GPS receiver and the antenna for occultation data acquisition. In this paper, we examine the methods for signal processing and the geometry analysis for GPS radio occultation, and look into the retrieval techniques for the temperature and humidity of troposphere and the electron density and scintillation of ionosphere. Using these atmospheric properties, we aim to derive the strategies for applying GPS radio occultation to space weather, for example, ionospheric TEC(total electron content) analysis for earthquake monitoring and the Open API(application programming interface) development for more effective data service.

In this study, it was evaluated that the 3D tracking accuracy of basketball zone track line by real time GNSS satellite positioning methods which are VRS (Virtual Reference System), DGPS (Marine Differential GPS) and PP (Point Positioning) methods. The results of comparison between three methods over horizontal track of basketball zone, VRS, DGPS and PP methods showed ${\pm}$ several cm, ${\pm}$ m, and ${\pm}$ 2m horizontal position accuracy compared with real size respectively. And also, the grade and height deviation of the checking points on basketball zone by VRS method is very similar to the real grade and height, but results by DGPS and PP methods showed big variation and deviation in each case. We expected that VRS method using GNSS reference network will be a very useful tool compared with single based RTK method in real time accurate positioning such as precision construction fields, especially.

In this paper, we propose a system to detect various damage automatically inflicted on road pavement by collecting and analyzing data from acceleration and camera sensors in real time. The proposed system sends the collected images, acceleration signals, and GPS coordinates to the road manager and the database in the remote server, shortly after detecting the damage to the road pavement. Our study makes three key contributions. The proposed system 1) enables road managers to maintain road conditions quickly, accurately, and conveniently; 2) allows road mangers to take care of various kinds of damage to the road pavement at the initial stage; and finally 3) even makes it possible to track the damage, which suggests that the integration of a high-level decision support function becomes affordable. We tested the sensitivity and precision of the proposed system against real-time data obtained from the vehicles driving on the highway at an average speed of 100 km/h. With ten iterations, the proposed system achieved an average sensitivity of 74% and an average precision of 84% in road pavement damage detection, which is comparable with the best competing schemes.
To correspond with the unpredictable future tactical environment, Ive expanded the application of M&S(Modeling & Simulation) that is more scientific and more economic in a field of weapon system development process. This paper describes experience in development of ADSF(Air Defense Simulation Framework) that supports not only HLA(High Level Architecture) which is an international standard in M&S but also TCP/IP as well as real-time distributed simulation. ADSF has been applied to the M-SAM(Medium Range Surface to Air Missile) System Simulator, and satisfying test results through GPS(Global Positioning System) timer has been acquired. As a result, an ADSF which is able to support HLA and TCP/IP as veil as precise real-time simulation has been successfully made. we were in need or a real-time simulation engine to support Air Defense System Simulators that were consisted of several subsystems.

Recently UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle) is frequently used not only for military purpose but also for civil purpose. UAV automatically navigates following the coordinates input in advance using GPS information. However it is impossible when GPS cannot be received because of jamming or external interference. In order to solve this problem, we propose a real-time segmentation and classification algorithm for the specific regions from UAV image in this paper. We use the super-pixels algorithm using graph-based image segmentation as a pre-processing stage for the feature extraction. We choose the most ideal model by analyzing various color models and mixture color models. Also, we use support vector machine for classification, which is one of the machine learning algorithms and can use small quantity of training data. 18 color and texture feature vectors are extracted from the UAV image, then 3 classes of regions; river, vinyl house, rice filed are classified in real-time through training and prediction processes.
