Real-Time MultiMedia Data 전송을 위한 새로운 방식의 DCF 프로토콜 (A Modified DCF Protocol for Real-Time Multimedia Data)

  • IEEE 802.11a Distributed Coordination Function(DCF) Protocol을 사용하여 Real-Time MultiMedia Data의 전송을 수행할 경우, DCF Protocol의 적합하지 못한 Mechanism에 의하여, Data 전송의 극대화를 이루지 못한다. Retransmission이 반복되는 경우, Binary Slotted Exponential Backoff Mechanism은 거대한 Packet Delay와 Jitter의 원인이 되며 Automatic Repeat Request(ARQ) 방식의 Ack Mechanism은 MultiMedia Data를 전송하기에 적합하지 못하다. 본 논문은 위와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 Real-Time MultiMedia Data을 주로 전송하는 STA에 따른 Real-Time/Non-Real-Time(RT/NRT) Station(STA)의 구분과 보내고자 하는 Real-Time MultiMedia Data의 Network Traffic Load(The Required Bandwidth)를 고려하여, Modified DCF(mDCF) Protocol의 Modified Backoff(mBackOff), Modified BlockAck(mBlockAck) Mechanism을 제시함으로서, Data 전송의 극대화를 제공하며, 또한 IEEE 802.11a와의 호환성을 제공한다.

  • 최근 multimedia와 network 분야의 발달로 embedded system에서도 multimedia 정보를 처리하거나 network를 접속하는 기능들이 포함되고 있다. 따라서 system이 더욱 복잡해지고 기존의 방법과는 다른 새로운 접근 방법이 필요하게 되었다 일반 computer system에서 쓰이는 것과는 달리 대부분의 embedded system은 real-time이라는 특성을 만족시켜야 했기 때문에 나오게 된 것이 바로 real-time system이다. 본 논문에서는 real-time embedded web-server system을 구현하기 위해 strong-arm board에 Linux로 web-server를 구축하고 kernel을 재구성하였다.

  • For Fast Real-time Recognition of Nonlinear Error Data, a new Neural Network algorithm which recognized the map in real time is proposed. The proposed neural network technique is the real time computation method through the inter-node diffusion. In the network, a node corresponds to a state in the quantized input space. Each node is composed of a processing unit and fixed weights from its neighbor nodes as well as its input terminal. The most reliable algorithm derived for real time recognition of map, is a dynamic programming based algorithm based on sequence matching techniques that would process the data as it arrives and could therefore provide continuously updated neighbor information estimates. Through several simulation experiments, real time reconstruction of the nonlinear map information is processed.

  • In this paper, a real-time multibody vehicle dynamics and control model has been developed for a virtual reality intelligent vehicle simulator. The simulator consists of low PCs for a virtual reality visualization system, vehicle dynamics and control analysis system a control loading system, and a network monitoring system. Virtual environment is created by 3D Studio Max graphic tool and OpenGVS real-time rendering library. A real-time vehicle dynamics and control model consists of a control module based on the sliding mode control for adaptive cruise control and a real-time multibody vehicle dynamics module based on the subsystem synthesis method. To verify the real-time capability of the model, cut-in, cut-out simulations have been carried out.

  • The increasing use of Ethernet-TCP/IP network in industry has led to the growing interest in its reliability in real-time applications such as automated manufacturing systems and process control systems. However, stochastic behavior of its medium access scheme makes it inadequate for time-critical applications. In order to guarantee hard real-time communication service in Ethernet-TCP/IP network, we proposed an algorithm running over TCP/IP protocol stack without modification of protocols. In this paper, we consider communication services guaranteeing deadlines of periodic real-time messages over MAC protocols that have unbounded medium access time. We propose a centralized token scheduling scheme for multiple access networks. The token is used to allow a station to transmit its message during the time amount that is appended to the token. The real-time performance of the proposed algorithm has been described.

  • In this paper, we described a method to guarantee a real-time communication in the hetegeneous network for the personal robot. The hetegeneous network is composed of many kinds of network like IEEE1394, Ethernet, CAN, Bluetooth, Wireless Lan and so on. real-time data is transfered via those kinds of network. Those network have different characteristics as speed, bandwidth, Priority. we used IEEE1394, Ethernet, CAN to study in this paper. To guarantee a real-time communication, a worst case response time must be scalable. In this environment to guarantee a real-time communication, we get a worst case response time of each network and a end-to-end worst case response time.

Real-time Estimation and Analysis of Time-based Accessibility and Usability for Ubiquitous Mobile-Web Services

  • Ubiquitous web services have been expanding in various business areas with the evolution of wireless Internet technologies, accessible and usable with a variety of mobile Internet devices such as smart phones. Ubiquitous mobile-web information services can be evaluated for accessibility and usability with the mobile Internet devices interacting with mobile-web information servers. In human mobile-web activity, a web server could be a unified center for mobile-web interaction services as well as for real-time estimation and analysis of mobile-web interaction sessions. We present a real-time estimation and analysis scheme for time-based accessibility and usability in ubiquitous mobile-web services. With real-time estimation/analysis of sessions in a mobile-web server, we estimated the time-based accessibility and usability for comparison between different web services as well as for applications in mobile cloud computing services. We present empirical results based on the implementation of the real-time estimation/analysis scheme.

실시간 분산 시스템에서 heartbeat 시그널을 이용한 장애 검출 (Fault detection using heartbeat signal in the real-time distributed systems)

  • Communication in real-time distributed system should have high reliability. To develop group communication Protocol with high reliability, potential fault should be known and when fault occurs, it should be detected and a necessary action should be taken. Existing detection method by Ack and Time-out is not proper for real time system due to load to Ack which is not received. Therefore, group communication messages from real-time distributed processing systems should be communicated to all receiving processors or ignored by the message itself. This paper can make be sure of transmission of reliable message and deadline by suggesting and experimenting fault detection technique applicable in the real time distributed system based on ring, and analyzing its results. The experiment showed that the shorter the cycle of the heartbeat signal, the shorter the time to propagate the fault detection, which is the time for other nodes to detect the failure of the node.

Analysis of delay compensation in real-time dynamic hybrid testing with large integration time-step

  • With the sub-stepping technique, the numerical analysis in real-time dynamic hybrid testing is split into the response analysis and signal generation tasks. Two target computers that operate in real-time may be assigned to implement these two tasks, respectively, for fully extending the simulation scale of the numerical substructure. In this case, the integration time-step of solving the dynamic response of the numerical substructure can be dozens of times bigger than the sampling time-step of the controller. The time delay between the real and desired feedback forces becomes more striking, which challenges the well-developed delay compensation methods in real-time dynamic hybrid testing. This paper focuses on displacement prediction and force correction for delay compensation in the real-time dynamic hybrid testing with a large integration time-step. A new displacement prediction scheme is proposed based on recently-developed explicit integration algorithms and compared with several commonly-used prediction procedures. The evaluation of its prediction accuracy is carried out theoretically, numerically and experimentally. Results indicate that the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed prediction method are of significance.

  • The real-time simulator of a pneumatic actuation system that is composed of differential PWM signal generator, charge solenoid valve, discharge solenoid valve, actuator, load, and rotational potentiometer is developed using a DSP board and a PC. The simulator receives the control signals from the external controller through the A/D converter, updates the state and output variables of the Pneumatic actuation system responding to the input signals every sampling time, and sends out the output signals through the D/A converter in real time. The user can observe the displacements, velocities, pressures, and mass flows representing the operation of pneumatic actuation system through the PC monitor in real time. Also the user can see the moving images between the pistons and rotating arm realistically in real time. The accuracy of the real-time simulator is verified by the good agreement of the real-time simulation results and the experimental results of the pneumatic actuation system.
