  • This paper proposes a novel simulation method of grid connected 3MW wind power generation system using RTDS(Real Time Digital Simulator). RTDS can perform the simulation as well as the experiment in real time. Also for the purpose of accurate simulation, real wind velocity is measured by anemometer. So measured wind velocity is applied to the simulation. And 3MW wind power generation system circuit is made by RSCAD.

  • In Jeju power sytstem, the generation of reactive power depends on the operation of CSC-HVDC filter. Thus, the grid voltage will be affected. Statcom and SVC have demonstrated that it has excellent charateristics to solve this problem. First, this paper analyzes the operation of the Statcom based on the real power system in Jeju. Then, the characteristics of Statcom will be compared to the SVC. The modelling of the Jeju power system including Statcom and SVC will be performed by using PSCAD/EMTDC program and the real data from the real Jeju power system.

바다물결 모형의 합성 및 GPU를 이용한 시뮬레이션 (Synthesis of Ocean Wave Models and Simulation Using GPU)

  • 컴퓨터 그래픽스로 재현되는 많은 자연현상 중의 하나인 바다는 주변 환경에 의해 계속해서 움직이며 복잡한 형태를 나타낼 뿐만 아니라 그 규모가 거대하기 때문에 만족스러운 영상을 얻기 위해서는 많은 계산시간을 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 GPU를 연산유닛으로 활용하여 무한히 넓은 바다표면의 움직임을 실시간으로 빠르게 시뮬레이션하고 사실적으로 렌더링하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 Gerstner 모델에 의해 2차원 투사 격자에서 생성된 저해상도의 메쉬로 바다의 전체적인 구조와 큰 물결을 표현하고, 스펙트럼 모델에 의해 2차원 균일격자에서 생성된 높이 맵과 법선 맵을 사용하여 작은 물결과 자세한 수면의 모습을 표현한다. 전체 과정이 GPU에 의해 처리되기 때문에 CPU자원을 다른 연산에 양보할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 시스템 메모리와 그래픽스 하드웨어 사이에 기하정보(geometry data)의 이동이 없어 보다 빠른 렌더링이 가능하다. 제안하는 방법은 컴퓨터 게임과 같이 계산량이 많고 빠른 처리가 요구되는 실시간 애플리케이션에 활용 가능성이 크다.

지리정보시스템을 위한 고속 측지계 변환 모델 연구 (A Study on Fast Datum Transformation model for GIS)

  • 본 연구에서는 실시간 측지계 변환 기법을 사용하는 지리정보시스템에 사용될 고속 변환 모델 개발을 수행하였다. 한 측지계에 준거하여 구축된 지리정보데이터를 다른 측지계에 준거하여 표시하는 경우 원 구축데이터의 좌표를 변환시키지 않고, 화면 표시나 출력 직전에 변환하여 표시하는 방법이 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 실시간 측지계 변환 작업의 속도를 향상시키고 높은 변환 정확도를 유지하기 위한 방법으로, 지역 분할 변환 매개변수 계산에 의한 2차원 동각상사변환 모델의 적용 방안을 검토하였다. 연구 결과 일정한 범위 안에서는 비교적 많은 계산 시간을 필요로 하는 3차원 측지계 변환과 2차원 등각상사변환이 거의 동일한 변환 정확도를 나타내었으며, 영역분할에 의한 2차원 상사 변환 모델을 적용할 경우 높은 정확도를 유지하고 향상된 변환 속도를 나타내는 실시간 측지계 변환이 가능하다는 결과를 얻게 되었다.

  • Due to enhanced demands on quality, security and reliability of the electric power energy system, a microgrid has become a subject of special interest. In this paper, output characteristics of energy storage system (ESS) with an electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) and battery energy storage system (BESS) of a renewable energy based microgrid were analyzed under grid-connected and islanded operation modes. The microgrid which consists of photovoltaic and wind power turbine generators, diesel generator, ESS with an EDLC, BESS and loads was modeled using real time digital simulator. The results present the effective control patterns of the microgrid system.

  • This paper presents the MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking)control method of the PMSG wind generation system using the turbine model with a squirrel cage induction motor. The torque of squirrel cage induction turbine model is controlled by mathematization of speed characteristics of real blade. In this paper, maintenance and cost issues into consideration, except for previous method using information of the velocity of the wind speed sensor, the algorithm is presented. The algorithm is controlled by tracking the optimal point, the generator speed and maximum grid power. The vector controls of the generator side converter and the grid side converter are controlled respectively to obtain maximum torque and regulate unity power factor. With Psim simulations and experiments, the efficiency of squirrel cage induction turbine model and the validity of control algorithm are verified.

  • This paper presents the computational method for analyzing the compressible flow fields in a high voltage gas circuit breaker. There are many difficult problems in analyzing the gas flow in GCB due to complex geometry, moving boundary, shock wave and so on. In particular, the distortion problem of the grid due to the movement of moving parts can be worked out by the fixed grid technique. Numerical simulations are based on a fully implicit finite volume method of the compressible Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations to obtain the pressure, density, and velocity through the entire interruption process. The presented method is applied to the real circuit breaker model and the pressure in front of the piston is good agreement with the experimental one.

  • PV system's islanding occurs when the uitilty grid is removed but local sources continue to operate and provide power to local loads. Islanding is one of the serious problems in an electric power system connected with dispersed power sources. Also, this can present safety hazards and the possibility of damage to other electric equipments. If the real and reactive power of RLC load and PV system are closely matched, islanding detection by passive methods becomes difficult. Novel islanding detection method is proposed for grid-connected PV system.

  • Recent power industries are to be progressed as moving into horizontal markets and expanding of competitive systems through promoting SmartGrid. In these environments, the information on power consumers leads to establish a part of power markets through active and real-time participations instead of participating it as a passive manner presented by a vertical integration. Also, such information should be established as a way that effectively reflects changes and market behaviors occurred in power market participants. Therefore, in this study, a method that develops consumer information models, performs integrated managements, implements registration and distribution, and forms integrated management centers is presented to commonly use the consumer information according to the change in the environment of power industries.

  • This paper deals with assessment of risk component for electrical safety and investigation on the spot of computer room in elementary middle high school. The investigation was carried out side by side for floor, outlet, panel board, earth leakage circuit breaker at computer room In order to assess electrical safety at computer room, grounding simulator and power quality monitor have been used. Potential rise has been measured and analyzed for ground rod and grounding grid by using the simulator. Phase and neutral-line current have been monitored in real time. As a consequence, it is desirable for us to install conductive tile at floor of computer room Grounding grid had better than ground rod for electrical safety. Neutral-line current was produced by unbalanced phase current.
