In global shipping logistics, it is important for users to keep track of the location of their continuously moving cargos. Analyzing the GPS data stream coming from the tag which is attached to the cargo, we are able to keep track of the cargo location in terms of going into or out of a certain logistics area using the information of the spatial relationship change between the tag and the logistics area. In this paper, we propose a simulation system for measuring the precision and false alarm rate of the cargo location tracking algorithm which generates spatial events over the global logistics areas. Due to the difficulty of experiment with a real tag, we developed a tag emulator to create a virtual tag which operates exactly like a real tag. We show the cargo location tracking system works correctly with the tag emulator which communicates with it using the same protocol as the real tag.
There are two kinks of processes could detect the laser pointer. One is the process which detects the location of the pointer. the other one is a possibility of dividing with the process which converts the coordinate of the laser pointer which is input in coordinate of the monitor. The previous Mean-Shift algorithm is not appropriately for real-time video image to calculate many quantity. In this paper, we proposed the context driven real-time laser pointer detection and tracking. The proposed method is a possibility of getting the result which is fixed from the situation which the background and the background which are complicated dynamically move. In the actual environment, we can get to give constant results when the object come in, when going out at forecast boundary. Ultimately, this paper suggests empirical application to verify the adequacy and the validity with the proposed method. Accordingly, the accuracy and the quality of image recognition will be improved the surveillance system.

This paper proposes a quasi-optimal linear DOA (Direction-of-Arrival) estimator which is necessary for the development of a real-time robot auditory system tracking moving acoustic source. It is well known that the use of conventional nonlinear filtering schemes may result in the severe performance degradation of DOA estimation and not be preferable for real-time implementation. These are mainly due to the inherent nonlinearity of the acoustic signal model used for DOA estimation. This motivates us to consider a new uncertain linear acoustic signal model based on the linear prediction relation of a noisy sinusoid. Using the suggested measurement model, it is shown that the resultant DOA estimation problem is cast into the NCRKF (Non-Conservative Robust Kalman Filtering) problem [12]. NCRKF-based DOA estimator provides reliable DOA estimates of a fast moving acoustic source in spite of using the noise-corrupted measurement matrix in the filter recursion and, as well, it is suitable for real-time implementation because of its linear recursive filter structure. The computational efficiency and DOA estimation performance of the proposed method are evaluated through the computer simulations.
In this paper, a new 3D object tracking system using the disparity motion vector (DMV) is presented. In the proposed method, the time-sequential disparity maps are extracted from the sequence of the stereo input image pairs and these disparity maps are used to sequentially estimate the DMV defined as a disparity difference between two consecutive disparity maps Similarly to motion vectors in the conventional video signals, the DMV provides us with motion information of a moving target by showing a relatively large change in the disparity values in the target areas. Accordingly, this DMV helps detect the target area and its location coordinates. Based on these location data of a moving target, the pan/tilt embedded in the stereo camera system can be controlled and consequently achieve real-time stereo tracking of a moving target. From the results of experiments with 9 frames of the stereo image pairs having 256x256 pixels, it is shown that the proposed DMV-based stereo object tracking system can track the moving target with a relatively low error ratio of about 3.05 % on average.

As mobile robot applications increase in real life, the need of low cost autonomous driving are gradually increasing. We propose a novel vision-based real-time lane detection and tracking system that supports autonomous driving of mobile robots in constrained tracks which are designed considering indoor driving conditions of mobile robots. Considering the processing of lanes with various shapes and the pre-adjustment of operation parameters, the system structure with multi-operation modes are designed. In parameter tuning mode, thresholds of the color filter is dynamically adjusted based on the geometric property of the lane thickness. And in the unstable input mode of curved tracks and the stable input mode of straight tracks, lane feature pixels are adaptively extracted based on the geometric and temporal characteristics of the lanes and the lane model is fitted using the least-squared method. The track centerline is calculated using lane models and the motion model is simplified and tracked by a linear Kalman filter. In the driving experiments, it was confirmed that even in low-performance robot configurations, real-time processing produces the accurate autonomous driving in the constrained track.
This paper reports the design procedure and testing result of a servo driven pan/tilt device which is capable of tracking arbitrary movement of a specified target object. In order to achieve real-time acquisition of feedback signal, a 2 degrees-of-freedom non-contact type displacement follower is used. The performance of the system is tested for different target velocities and control gains. The result of the research may provide an effective tool for visual transfer in the context of teleoperation.

This paper proposes real time object detection and tracking algorithm that can be applied to security and supervisory system field. A proposed system is devide into object detection phase and object tracking phase. In object detection, we suggest Adaptive background subtraction method and Adaptive block based model which are advanced motion detecting methods to detect exact object motions. In object tracking, we design a multiple vehicle tracking system based on Kalman filtering. As a result of experiment, motion of moving object can be estimated. the result of tracking multipul object was not lost and object was tracked correctly. Also, we obtained improved result from long range detection and tracking.

In a port terminal, containers are stored and transshipped by yard tractors and crane vehicles. For operation efficiency of the terminal, location information of these vehicles is an essential factor. However, most of port terminals try to estimate location of these assets using indirect methods such as event tracking of shipping or unshipping containers. Because these kinds of events are rarely occurred, location of the event includes seriously locating error compared to a real location of vehicle. In this paper, we propose a real-time asset tracking system to obtain accurate and reliable location of terminal assets. The proposed system overcomes a location estimation error caused by container stacks which interrupt wireless communication. In order to mitigate uncertainty and increase accuracy of location estimation, we designed hardwares and multi-step locating system to resolve additional preblems. We implemented system components, and installed these at a port environment for evaluation. The result shows superiority of the system that the accuracy is approximately 5.87 meters (CEP).

This paper presents an implementation of a smooth path planning method considering physical limits on a real time operating system for a two-wheel mobile robot. A Bezier curve is utilized to make a smooth path considering a robot's position and direction angle through the defined path. A convolution operator is used to generate the center velocity trajectory to travel the distance of the planned path while satisfying the physical limits. The joint space velocity is computed to drive the two-wheel mobile robot from the center velocity. Trajectory planning, velocity command according to the planned trajectory, and monitoring of encoder data are implemented with a multi-tasking system. And the synchronization of tasks is performed with a real-time mechanism of Event Flag. A real time system with multi-tasks is implemented and the result is compared with a non-real-time system in terms of path tracking to the designed path. The result shows the usefulness of a real-time multi-tasking system to the control system which requires real-time features.
In this paper, we propose a real tine moving object tracking system based on block-based image processing technique and human visual processing. The system has two nun features. First, to take advantage of the merit of the biological mechanism of human retina, the system has two cameras, a CCD(Charge-Coupled Device) camera equipped with wide angle lens for more wide scope vision and a Pan-Tilt-Zoon tamers. Second, the system divides the input image into a numbers of blocks and processes coarsely to reduce the rate of tracking error and the processing time. Tn an experiment, the system showed satisfactory performances coping with almost every noisy image, detecting moving objects very int and controlling the Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera precisely.
