Real-time Tracking and Identification for Multi-Camera Surveillance System

  • This paper presents a solution for personal profiling system based on user-oriented tracking. Here, we introduce a new way to identify and track humans by using two types of cameras: dome and face camera. Dome camera has a wide view angle so that it is suitable for tracking human movement in large area. However, it is difficult to identify a person only by using dome camera because it only sees the target from above. Thus, face camera is employed to obtain facial information for identifying a person. In addition, we also propose a new mechanism to locate human on targeted location by using grid-cell system. These result in a system which has the capability of maintaining human identity and tracking human activity (movement) effectively.

  • Recently, ubiquitous computing paradigm considers as a tool for making innovation and competitive strength in manufacturing industry like other industries. Particularly, the location-based service that enables us to trace real-time logistics make effective management of schedules for inventory control, facilities and equipments, jobs planning, and facilitate the processes of information management and intelligence, which relate with ERP and SCM in organizations. Our study tries to build the location-based system for products of semiconductors in manufacturing place and suggests the good conditions and effective tracking procedures for positions of products. Our study show that the system is good for the saving of time in tracking products, however, it has to be improved in terms of accuracy. The study verifies the application of RFID technology in manufacturing industry and suggests the improvement of photograph process through RFID. In addition, our research introduces the future operation of FAB in semiconductors' processes that relate with real-time automation and RFID in manufacturing company.

동적 윤곽 모델을 이용한 이동 물체 추적 (Moving Object Tracking Using Active Contour Model)

  • In this paper, the visual tracking system for arbitrary shaped moving object is proposed. The established tracking system can be divided into model based method that needs previous model for target object and image based method that uses image feature. In the model based method, the reliable tracking is possible, but simplification of the shape is necessary and the application is restricted to definite target mod el. On the other hand, in the image based method, the process speed can be increased, but the shape information is lost and the tracking system is sensitive to image noise. The proposed tracking system is composed of the extraction process that recognizes the existence of moving object and tracking process that extracts dynamic characteristics and shape information of the target objects. Specially, active contour model is used to effectively track the object that is undergoing shape change. In initializatio n process of the contour model, the semi-automatic operation can be avoided and the convergence speed of the contour can be increased by the proposed effective initialization method. Also, for the efficient solution of the correspondence problem in multiple objects tracking, the variation function that uses the variation of position structure in image frame and snake energy level is proposed. In order to verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed tracking system, real time tracking experiment for multiple moving objects is implemented.

A Low Complexity, Descriptor-Less SIFT Feature Tracking System

  • Features which exhibit scale and rotation invariance, such as SIFT, are notorious for expensive computation time, and often overlooked for real-time tracking scenarios. This paper proposes a descriptorless matching algorithm based on motion vectors between consecutive frames to find the geometrically closest candidate to each tracked reference feature in the database. Descriptor-less matching forgoes expensive SIFT descriptor extraction without loss of matching accuracy and exhibits dramatic speed-up compared to traditional, naive matching based trackers. Descriptor-less SIFT tracking runs in real-time on an Intel dual core machine at an average of 24 frames per second.

  • 현대 정보 기술은 새롭고 개선된 방법으로 여러 산업들에 지속적인 제공을 하고 있다. 본 논문에서 고려한 스마트 컨테이너 공급망 관리는 사물지능(M2M)통신의 급속한 발전과 함께 고성능 센서, 컴퓨터 비전, GPS, GSM을 기반으로 형성된다. 기존 공급망관리는 실시간 컨테이너 추적에 제한이 있다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문은 인터럽트 및 보통 정기적인 알림에 대한 컨테이너 식별 시스템과 자동 알림 시스템의 개발과 실시간 컨테이너 공급망관리의 연구 및 구현에 초점을 맞추었다. 첫째, 본 논문은 컨테이너 코드 식별 및 실시간 작업에 대해 컴퓨터 비전 라이브러리와 OCR 엔진을 비주얼 스튜디오 2010으로 구현된 식별 알고리즘을 제안하고 있다. 둘째는 실시간 컨테이너 추적 및 그 시스템의 한계에 대해 제공되는 현재 자동 알림 시스템에 대해 설명한다. 마지막으로 본 논문은 고성능 센서와 컴퓨터 비전과 함께 유비쿼터스 모바일 및 위성 네트워크와 실시간 컨테이너 추적 솔루션의 미래에 도전과 가능성을 요약하였다. 뛰어난 운영 및 보안 공급망관리의 우수한 전송을 제공하기 위해 이러한 모든 구성요소를 결합하였다.

A Human-Robot Interface Using Eye-Gaze Tracking System for People with Motor Disabilities

  • Recently, service area has been emerging field f robotic applications. Even though assistant robots play an important role for the disabled and the elderly, they still suffer from operating the robots using conventional interface devices such as joysticks or keyboards. In this paper we propose an efficient computer interface using real-time eye-gaze tracking system. The inputs to the proposed system are images taken by a camera and data from a magnetic sensor. The measured data is sufficient to describe the eye and head movement because the camera and the receiver of a magnetic sensor are stationary with respect to the head. So the proposed system can obtain the eye-gaze direction in spite of head movement as long as the distance between the system and the transmitter of a magnetic position sensor is within 2m. Experimental results show the validity of the proposed system in practical aspect and also verify the feasibility of the system as a new computer interface for the disabled.

딥러닝 기반 소형선박 승선자 조난 인지 시스템 (Deep Learning based Distress Awareness System for Small Boat)

  • According to statistics conducted by the Korea Coast Guard, the number of accidents on small boats under 5 tons is increasing every year. This is because only a small number of people are on board. The previously developed maritime distress and safety systems are not well distributed because passengers must be equipped with additional remote equipment. The purpose of this study is to develop a distress awareness system that recognizes man over-board situations in real time. This study aims to present the part of the passenger tracking system among the small ship's distress awareness situational system that can generate passenger's location information in real time using deep learning based object detection and tracking technologies. The system consisted of the following steps. 1) the passenger location information is generated in the form of Bounding box using its detection model (YOLOv3). 2) Based on the Bounding box data, Deep SORT predicts the Bounding box's position in the next frame of the image with Kalman filter. 3) When the actual Bounding Box is created within the range predicted by Kalman-filter, Deep SORT repeats the process of recognizing it as the same object. 4) If the Bounding box deviates the ship's area or an error occurs in the number of tracking occupant, the system is decided the distress situation and issues an alert. This study is expected to complement the problems of existing technologies and ensure the safety of individuals aboard small boats.

고기동 표적 추적 성능 개선을 위한 연구 (Performance Improvement for Tracking Small Targets)

  • In this paper, a new realtime algorithm called the RTPBTD-HPDAF (Recursive Temporal Profile Base Target Detection with Highest Probability Data Association Filter) is presented for tracking fast moving small targets with IIR (Imaging Infrared) sensor systems. Spatial filter algorithms are mainly used for target in IIR sensor system detection and tracking however they often generate high density clutter due to various shapes of cloud. The TPBTD (Temporal Profile Base Target Detection) algorithm based on the analysis of temporal behavior of individual pixels is known to have good performance for detection and tracking of fast moving target with suppressing clutter. However it is not suitable to detect stationary and abruptly maneuvering targets. Moreover its computational load may not be negligible. The PTPBTD-HPDAF algorithm proposed in this paper for real-time target detection and tracking is shown to be computationally cheap while it has benefit of tracking targets with abrupt maneuvers. The performance of the proposed RTPBTD-HPDAF algorithm is tested and compared with the spatial filter with HPDAF algorithm for run-time and track initiation at real IIR video.

실시간 시뮬레이터를 이용한 태양광 발전 시스템의 출력 변동에 따른 THD 분석 (Analysis of THD according to Output Power Fluctuation of Photovoltaic Generation System using Real Time Simulator)

  • This paper analyzes the THD(Total Harmonics Distortion) according to output power fluctuation of photovoltaic(PV) systems using real time simulator. For being close to reality, the PV system including inverter and MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) which composed of closed-loop using real-time simulator are modeled. The change of irradiance and temperature of PV module is modeled to consider the change of weather. The various simulations according to the weather conditions are performed and THD is calculated at each condition. In this paper, the results by off-line simulation are compared with the ones of real time simulation.

  • In this paper, a dynamic learning controller for robot manipulator is implemented using real-time operating system with capabilities of multitasking, intertask communication and synchronization, event-driven, priority-driven scheduling, real-time clock control, etc. The controller hardware system with VME bus and related devices is developed and applied to implement a dynamic learning control scheme for robot manipulator. Real-time performance of the proposed dynamic learning controller is tested and evaluated for tracking of the desired trajectory and compared with the conventional servo controller.
