  • Recently, ground-borne noise and vibration generated by underground transit system has been recognized as an important environmental problem. This study reviews several of the improved procedures that have been used to predict ground-borne vibration. At first, ground stiffness profile is examined by SASW test which is the most reasonable surface wave test. It is very important to acquire the exact ground stiffness profile at ground response analysis. At second, the train loading to act roadbed is calculated by using the real measured phase angle data. In finite element analysis, averaged acceleration method, infinite element, Rayleigh damping and 2-dimensional wave propagation analysis is performed.

An Overview of Liquid Spray Modeling Formed by High-Shear Nozzle/Swirler Assembly

  • A multi-dimensioanl model is being increasingly used to predict the thermo-flow field in the gas turbine combustor. This article addresses an integrated survey of modeling of the liquid spray formation and fuel distribution in gas turbine with high-shear nozzle/swirler assembly. The processes of concern include breakup of a liquid jet injected through a hole type orifice into air stream, spray-wall interaction and spray-film interaction, breakup of liquid sheet into ligaments and droplet,5, and secondary droplet breakup. Atomization of liquid through hole nozzle is described using a liquid blobs model and hybrid model of Kelvin-Helmholtz wave and Rayleigh-Taylor wave. The high-speed viscous liquid sheet atomization on the pre-filmer is modeled by a linear stability analysis. Spray-wall interaction model and liquid film model over the wall surface are also considered.

불규칙해면에서 선수부의 상대운동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relative Bow Motion in Irrugular Sea)

  • When a ship is sailing on the sea, she has the six-degrees of freedom of motion. It means that she meets a lot of dangerous situations. Especially, when the VLCC is travelling in irregular sea, the slamming, the deck-wetness and the propeller racing are occured with the sea state she is on. These are the representative steps that a heave-to and a scudding are used for a ship building , but for a predominance in both. The author intends to clarify this problem theoretically. The methods of statistical calculation are based with the ITTC spectral formulation and with the assumption that the wave height histogram follows the Rayleigh distribution. In this study, the author gives an attention on the relative bow motion to a wave in the irregular sea. It is verified that the relative diplacement at the bow to sea level in the following sea is less than that in the head sea. It is confirmed that, therefore, one have to sail with scudding when he is threatened to heave-to at a rough sea. But he must bear the propeller racing in mind in the cases.

  • A leaky surface acoustic wave (LSAW) velocity was measured using a scanning acoustic microscope on the ceramic/metal interface in order to investigate material properties. The inverse Fourier transform (IFFT) of the V(z) curve contains the reflectance function of a liquid-specimen interface. So, the longitudinal, transverse, and Rayleigh wave velocities for each layer are obtained by the inversion of the V(z) curve at the same time. This paper contains mainly the experimental procedure for measurements of the LSAW velocity, and the results obtained for the velocity variation of individual layer after the thermal shock. It is shown that this method is useful in measuring the material properties under external stress.

  • Ka 및 mm파 대역에서의 강우감쇠는 무선회선설계에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 전반적인 기초가 되는 Mie 산란이론을 이용하여 국내환경에 적합한 강우감쇠를 추정하기 위해 중요한 요소인 빗방울 크기분포를 여러 자료를 비교하여 분석하였고. 일반화된 식을 통해 수치해석적 접근을 시도함으로써 각 파라미터별 강우감 쇠에 미치는 정도를 분석하여 이론적으로 국내 강우환경에서의 강우감쇠를 추정하기 위한 근거를 제공하고자 하였다.

  • rectangular open or in-filled trenches(concrete and rubber) are often used to reduce the ground vibrations caused by propagating surface(Rayleigh) waves. This paper presents the experimental data for estimating the vibration screening effectiveness of open or in-filled trenches Field dynamic tests using the exciter which can generate the 100kN vertical cyclic load in the range of 100-250 Hz were performed. One hundred and twenty accelerometers to measure the ground response are used in 6 radial direction. To compare the effectiveness of the vibration isolation the contours of the amplitude ratio with the dimensionless parameters dividing by Rayleight wave lengths were presented.

Non-contact surface wave testing of pavements: comparing a rolling microphone array with accelerometer measurements

  • Rayleigh wave velocity along a straight survey line on a concrete plate is measured in order to compare different non-destructive data acquisition techniques. Results from a rolling non-contact data acquisition system using air-coupled microphones are compared to conventional stationary accelerometer results. The results show a good match between the two acquisition techniques. Rolling measurements were found to provide a fast and reliable alternative to stationary system for stiffness determination. However, the non-contact approach is shown to be sensitive to unevenness of the measured surface. Measures to overcome this disadvantage are discussed and demonstrated using both forward and reverse rolling measurements.

Spectral Fatigue Analysis for Topside Structure of Offshore Floating Vessel

  • In this study, a spectral fatigue analysis was performed for the topside structure of an offshore floating vessel. The topside structure was idealized using beam elements in the SACS program. The fatigue analysis was carried out considering the wave and wind loads separately. For the wave-induced fatigue damage calculation, motion RAOs calculated from a direct wave load analysis and regular waves with different periods and unit wave heights were utilized. Then, the member end force transfer functions were generated covering all the loading conditions. Stress response transfer functions at each joint were produced using the specified SCFs and member end force transfer functions. fatigue damages were calculated using the obtained stress ranges, S-N curve, wave spectrum, heading probability of each loading condition, and their corresponding occurrences in the wave scatter diagrams. For the wind induced fatigue damage calculation, a dynamic wind spectral fatigue analysis was performed. First, a dynamic natural frequency analysis was performed to generate the structural dynamic characteristics, including the eigenvalues (natural frequencies), eigenvectors (mode shapes), and mass matrix. To adequately represent the dynamic characteristic of the structure, the number of modes was appropriately determined in the lateral direction. Second, a wind spectral fatigue analysis was performed using the mode shapes and mass data obtained from the previous results. In this analysis, the Weibull distribution of the wind speed occurrence, occurrence probability in each direction, damping coefficient, S-N curves, and SCF of each joint were defined and used. In particular, the wind fatigue damages were calculated under the assumption that the stress ranges followed a Rayleigh distribution. The total fatigue damages were calculated from the combination with wind and wave fatigue damages according to the DNV rule.

  • 종래의 탄성파 모델링은 지표를 수평면으로 가정하고 그 아래쪽에 여러 개의 반사면에 대한 모델링이 대부분 이었다. 그러나, 실제 탐사에서는 복잡한 지형을 가진 지표에서 탐사가 수행되기 때문에 탄성 매질에서의 반응을 명확하게 구분해 내는 것이 힘들다. 지표에 탄성파 전파특성을 규명하기 위하여 모델에 지형을 고려할 수 있도록 하여 시간영역 유한요소법을 이용하여 매질의 반응을 구하였다. 이러한 이러한 알고리즘을 이용하여 지표에서 진원을 가했을 때 수평 및 제방(mound), 채널(channel)등의 구조로부터 지표의 수신기에서 합성 탄성파 기록을 관찰하고, 스냅사진(snapshot)을 얻어냄으로써 해석해와 잘 일치함을 확인하였고, 지표 및 지하 반사면에 의한 복잡한 탄성파의 전파 양상을 파악할 수 있었다. 불규칙 지표면을 따라 전파하는 표면파가 모서리에서 새로운 진원으로 작용하여 큰 잡음이 생성됨을 관찰하였고, 지표를 따라 전파하는 높은 에너지의 레일리파, 상대적으로 낮은 압축파, 전단파 등의 전파 양상으로부터 파의 천이 상태를 관찰할 수 있었다.

비선형 고출력 증폭기의 선형화를 위한 SCPWL 모텔 기반의 디지털 사전왜곡기 (A SCPWL Model-Based Digital Predistorter for Nonlinear High Power Amplifier Linearization)

  • OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템은 다수 반송파 전송의 특수한 형태로 주파수 선택적 페이딩이나 협대역 간섭에 대한 강건함이 증가하기 때문에 차세대 무선 광대역 통신 시스템의 전송 방식으로 큰 관성을 받고 있다. 하지만 출력 신호의 크기가 Rayleigh 분포를 갖기 때문에 무선 통신 환경에서 TWTA (Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier)와 같은 고출력 증폭기 (High Power Amplifier; HPA)의 비선형 특성으로 인하여 단일 반송파 전송 방식보다 심각한 비선형 왜곡이 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 HPA의 비선형성에 의한 비선형 왜곡을 보상하기 위해 SCPWL (Simplicial Canonical Piecewise-Linear) 모델 기반의 새로운 디지털 사전왜곡기를 제안한다. 제안된 사전왜곡기의 성능평가를 위해 AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise) 채널 하에서 16-QAM과 64-QAM 변조 방식을 이용하고, 1024-point FFT/IFFT로 구현된 OFDM 시스템에서 다양한 실험을 실시하였다. 모의실험 결과, HPA에 의해 발생하는 비선형 왜곡을 효과적으로 보상함으로써 우수한 성능 향상이 있음을 확인하였다.
