Natural Frequency Analysis of the Tower-Cable System of a 6kW Wind Turbine (6kW 풍력발전기 타워-케이블계의 고유진동수 해석)

  • Vibration characteristics of a 6kW stand alone W/T(wind turbine) system are experimentally and theoretically investigated. Vibration resonance of the tower-cable system is monitored and the data are analysed and compared with the analytical results. To predict the resonance speed of the cable supported W/T, Rayleigh-Ritz method is applied to the tower-guy cable coupled system. Parametric study on the relation of the cable tension, cable elasticity and resonance frequency is carried out. Results of the study are utilized to design the stable structure of small size wind turbines which consist of a pivoted tower and guy cables.

  • The differential quadrature method (DQM) is applied to computation of eigenvalues of the equations of motion governing the free in-plane and out-of-plane vibrations for circular curved beams. Fundamental frequencies are calculated for the members with various end conditions and opening angles. The results are compared with existing exact solutions and numerical solutions by other methods (Rayleigh-Ritz, Galerkin or FEM) for cases in which they are available. The differential quadrature method gives good accuracy even when only a limited number of grid points is used.

  • The numerical simulation on the three-dimensional natural convection heat transfer in the enclosure with heat generating chip is performed, and the effects of convective heat loss and vents are also examined. The effects of the Rayleigh number and outer Nusselt number (Nu$_{0}$) on the maximum chip temperature and the fractions of heat loss from the hot surfaces are investigated. The results show that conduction through the substrate is dominant in heat dissipation. With the increase of Rayleigh number, heat dissipation through the chip surfaces increases and heat loss through the substrate decreases. Maximum dimensionless temperature with vents is found to decrease about 40% compared to the one without vents at Nu$_{0}$=0.l. It is also shown that effects of size and location of the vents are negligible.ble.

  • In order to investigate the characteristics of sound-structure interaction problems, we modeled a rectangular cavity and the flexible wall of the cavity. Because the governing equations of motion are coupled through velocity terms, we could redefine them using the velocity potential. We calculated the natural frequencies of plate using orthogonal polynomial functions which satisfy the boundary conditions in the Rayleigh-Ritz Method. As the result, comparisons of theory and experiment show good agreement. and using orthogonal polynomial functions which satisfy the boundary conditions in the Rayleigh-Ritz method show useful method for sound-structure interaction problems too.

  • MC-CDMA and OFDM are digital modulation techniques where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which we orthogonal to each other. With this technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of multi currier systems is analyzed. when data is transmitted over multi-path Rayleigh fading channel. The performance of this technique, gauged by the average bit error rate, is numerically analyzed for the system with the application of antenna diversity.

  • The natural convective nanofluid flow and heat transfer inside a square enclosure with a center heater in the presence of magnetic field has been studied numerically. The vertical walls of the enclosure are cold and the top wall is adiabatic while the bottom wall is considered with constant heat source. The governing differential equations are solved by using a finite volume method based on SIMPLE algorithm. The parametric study is performed to analyze the effect of different lengths of center heater, Hartmann numbers and Rayleigh numbers. The heater effectiveness and temperature distribution are examined. The effect of all pertinent parameters on streamlines, isotherms, velocity profiles and average Nusselt numbers are presented. It is found that heat transfer increases with the increase of heater length, whereas it decreases with the increase of magnetic field effect. Furthermore, it is found that the value of Nusselt number depends strongly upon the Hartmann number for the increasing values of Rayleigh number.

  • I evaluate the BER performance of uplink OFDMA systems in time variant Rayleigh Doppler fading channel, considering the carrier frequency offset and the nonlinear high power amplifier. I obtain the required output back-off of the nonlinear amplifier and value of frequency offset for good BER performance. And I also analyze the BER degradation upon Doppler fading channel.

  • 최근 양방향 전송에 기반을 둔 양방향 파장 분할 다중 방식(WDM: wavelength division multiplexing) 광통신망$^{(1-3)}$ 이 제안되고 있다. 양방향 파장 분할 다중 방식 광통신망은 광섬유의 수나 광증폭기의 수 등 경제적 비용을 경감할 수 있고 비선형 현상을 줄일 수 있다는 장점을 갖는다. 그러나 이러한 양방향 광통신망에서는 Rayleigh 역산란이나 다중 광반사, 각종 소자의 누화에 의한 상대 강도 잡음(RIN: relative intensity noise)에 의해 시스템의 성능과 통신망의 확장성이 심각하게 저하될 수 있다$^{(4)}$ . 따라서 상대 강도 잡음을 억제하면서도 양방향 광통신망의 장점을 살릴 수 있는 광증폭기 및 애드/드롭 모듈의 설계가 필수적이다.   • 본 논문에서는 사용자의 분포에 따라 섹터의 크기가 가변되는 안테나의 섹터 형성과 오율성능 개선을 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였다. 섹터의 크기가 가변적이기 때문에 사용자의 분포에 따라 섹터별 부하의 차이를 줄일 수 있어 간섭제거 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 시뮬레이션 결과 가우스 분포를 하는 사용자 수에 따라 섹터의 크기가 가변됨을 확인할 수 있었고, 고정된 섹터 시스템에 비해 동일한 SNR에 대해 오율성능이 개선됨을 알 수 있었다. 채널 환경으로는 가우스 잡음, 레일리 페이딩 및 다중 사용자 간섭을 고려하였고 변복조 시스템은 BPSK로 하였다.

A Comparison of Various Governing Parameters on Hydrodynamic Stability in Interface on Small Solar Pond (소형태양수구내(小型太陽水構內) 중간경계면(中間境界面)에서 수력학적(水力學的) 안정(安定)에 관(關)한 각종(各種) 지배변수(支配變數)의 비교(比較))

  • In this paper, the interface stability not to occur mixing and entrainment between the adjacent layers has been studied in the case of the selective withdrawal of a stratum and the injection in stratified fluid formed by the density difference in a small solar pond. There are stability parameter, Richardson number, Rayleigh number and Froude number as the parameters governing stability in order to measure the interface stability on the stratified fluid. The model which could measure the interface stability on the stratified fluid was the small solar pond composed by 1 meters wide, 2 meters high, and 5 meters long. In order to measure the interface stability on the stratified fluid at the inlet port, the middle section and the outlet port, Richardson number, Rayleigh number, and Froude number involved in the parameters governing the stability were calculated by means of the data resulted from the test of the study on hydrodynamic stability between the convective and nonconvective layers in that solar pond. Richardson number written by the ratio of inertia force to buoyancy force can be used in order to measure the stability on the stratified fluid related to the buoyancy force generated from the injection of fluid. Rayleigh number written by the product of Grashof number by Prandtl number can be used in order to measure the stability of the fluid related to the heat flux and diffusivity of viscosity. Froude number written by the ratio of gravity force to inertia force can be used in order to measure the stability of the nonhomogeneous fluid related to the density difference. As the result of calculating the parameters governing stability, the interface stability on the stratified fluid couldn't be identified below the 70cm height from the bottom of the solar pond, but it could be identified above the 70cm height from it at the inlet port, the middle section and the outlet port. When compared with such the three parameters as Richardson number, Rayleigh number, Froude number, the calculated result was in accord with them at inlet port, the middle section and the outlet port. Henceforth, it is learned that even though any of the three parameters is used for the purpose of measuring the interface stability on the stratified fluid, the result will be the same with them. It is concluded that all the use of Richardson number, Rayleigh number, and Froude number, is desirable and infallible to measure the interface stability on the stratified fluid in the case of considering the exist of the fluid flow and the heat flux like the model of the solar pond.
