This study on stressful life events and coping methods of medical patients and community people was applied to people who was divided into two groups from July 19 to Aug. 7, 1982, One is hospitalized patients in medical wards of two university hospitals in Seoul. The other is inhibitants in eight Dongs of Seoul. This study compared the number and seversity of stressful life events reported by medical patients and community people within last six months, identified coping methods used by the two groups and explored the relationship between stressful life events and coping methods. Two instruments are used in this study. The first one to measure stressful life events, is Holmes & Rahe(1967)'s S.R.R.S.(Soual Readjustment Rating Scale), which is translated & amended, So that it consists of 51 items. The second one is for evaluating coping method. It consists of 36 items amended through preliminary test after consideration of related literature review and survey on the basis of Bell(1877)’s‘18-item-Questionnaire.’The materials were analyzed by S.P.S.S. (Statistical Package for the Social Science) program. The results of analysis were as follows: 1. There were no significant difference in the number and severity of stressful life events reported by medical patients and community people (p>.05). 2. There were no significant difference in use of coping methods (p>.05). 3. Stressful life events showed a positive correlation with coping methods (r=.363).
This study on stressful life events and coping methods of hypertensive and nonhypertensive patients was applied to people who was divided into two groups from April 5 to March 10, 19 83. One is hospitalized patients in medical wards of three university hospital in Seoul. The other is inhibitants in two Dongs of Seoul. This study compared the number and seversity of stressful life events reported by hypertensive and nonhypertensive patients, indentified coping methods used by the two groups and explored the relationship between stressful life events and coping methods. Two instruments are used in this study. The first one to measure stressful life events, is Holmes & Rahe (1967)'s S.R.R.S. (Social Readjustment Rating Scale). Which is translated & am-ended. So that it consists of 46 items. The second one is for evaluating coping method. It consists of f items amended through preliminary test after consideration of related literature review and survey on the basis of Bell (1977)'s‘18-item-Questionnaire.’The materials were analyzed by S.P.S.S. There were no significant difference in the number and severity of stressful life events reported by hypertensive and nonhypertensive patients (p>.05). 2. There were significant difference in use of short-term coping methods (p<.01) and long-term coping methods (p<.05).
This paper introduces a low cost, high efficiency, high performance three-phase unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) by using four-switch three-phase inverters (FSTPIs) and an extra capacitor in the shunt active power filter (APF) side of the UPQC. In the proposed UPQC, both shunt and series APFs are developed by using FSTPIs so that the number of switching devices is reduced from twelve to eight devices. In addition, by inserting an additional capacitor in series with the shunt APF, the DC-link voltage in the proposed UPQC can also be greatly reduced. As a result, the system cost and power loss of the proposed UPQC is significantly minimized thanks to the use of a smaller number of power switches with a lower rating voltage without degrading the compensation performance of the UPQC. Design of passive components for the proposed UPQC to achieve a good performance is presented in detail. In addition, comparisons on power loss, overall system efficiency, compensation performance between the proposed UPQC and the traditional one are also determined in this paper. Simulation and experimental studies are performed to verify the validity of the proposed topology.
The proliferation of mobile applications and the unique characteristics of the mobile environment have attracted significant research interest in understanding customers' purchasing behaviors in mobile commerce. In this study, we extend customer value theory by combining the predictors of product performance with customer value framework to investigate how in-store information creates value for customers and influences mobile application downloads. Using a data set collected from the Google Application Store, we find that customers value both text and non-text information when they make downloading decisions. We apply latent semantic analysis techniques to analyze customer reviews and product descriptions in the mobile application store and determine the embedded valuable information. Results show that, for mobile applications, price, number of raters, and helpful information in customer reviews and product descriptions significantly affect the number of downloads. Conversely, average rating does not work in the mobile environment. This study contributes to the literature by revealing the role of in-store information in mobile application downloads and by providing application developers with useful guidance about increasing application downloads by improving in-store information management.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System provides third-party verification for environmentally sustainable construction. But while LEED-certified buildings provide healthier work and living environments, Previous studies have shown that LEED certification does not provide any direct economic incentives to owners and developers. To address this issue, this study aims to investigate the economic benefits of LEED criteria. The objective of this study is to examine whether or not there is a significant correlation between median household income and the number of bus stops and light rail stations for a given parcel that meet LEED sustainable site criteria for public transportation access. The findings showed that the number of bus stops had a positive correlation with median household income, which means that more bus stops a given parcel had that met LEED criteria, the greater the median household income of a block group where the given parcel was located would be, though this positive correlation was very weak.
Purpose: The aim of study was to investigate relationship between compliance and recovery of patients with osteoarthritis of the knee patients after knee arthroplasty. Methods: 193 patients living in Seoul were participated in this study. Data were collected using the Knee Society Clinical Rating System and Medical Outcomes Study Short Form 36(SF-36) and analyzed by ANCOVA, t-test, and repeated measure ANOVA. Results: There was a significant difference of physiological recovery based on the number of co-morbidity patients have. Physical recovery level was different according to age, religion, and the number of co-morbidity. Age and education level of patients were different in emotional recovery. The level of physiological and physical recovery were significantly different consistent with compliance. Compared to preoperative scores, physiological and physical scores showed significant improvement at six weeks, three months, and six months after surgery while emotional scores did not showed significant improvement. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that nursing interventions to increase compliance are needed for better recovery of patients after knee arthroplasty.
Purpose: This study was done to evaluate the effects of program promoting self-efficacy patients with epicondylitis. Methods: Forty-three patients with unilateral epicondylitis were enrolled in this study between January, 2 and April, 28, 2009. The patients were assigned to one of two groups: Nineteen patients in the intervention group were given the self-efficacy promotion program with specific home instruction and the 24 in the control group were treated with conventional treatment. Pain by numeric rating scale, anxiety, and the self-efficacy of exercise were evaluated before the program, and 4 weeks after completing the intervention. The number of exercises was checked after the intervention. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Chi-square test, paired t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients with SPSS 14.0 program. Results: Anxiety in the intervention group was significantly lower than the control group(p=.018). Maximal and resting pain in the control group were lower than the intervention group( p=.000, p=.003). The self-efficacy of exercise and the number of exercises increased in the intervention group but there was no significant difference (p=.057, p=.052). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that a program promoting self-efficacy for patients with epicondylitis could be a useful nursing intervention to reduce anxiety.
Most of the production process is performed in a cleanroom in the case of facilities that produce semiconductor chips or display panels. Therefore, environmental management of cleanrooms is very important for product yield and quality control. Among them, airborne particles are a representative management item enough to be the standard for the actual cleanroom rating, and it is a part of the Fab or Facility monitoring system, and the sequential particle monitoring system is mainly used. However, this method has a problem in that measurement efficiency decreases as the length of the sampling tube increases. In addition, a statistically significant test of deterioration in efficiency has rarely been performed. Therefore, in this study, the statistically significant test between the number of particles measured by InSitu and the number of particles measured for each sampling tube ends(Remote). Through this, the efficiency degradation problem of the sequential particle monitoring system was confirmed by a statistical method.

Recommender Systems have gained much popularity among researchers and is applied in a number of applications. The exponential growth of users and products poses some key challenges for recommender systems. Recommender Systems mostly suffer from scalability and accuracy. The accuracy of Recommender system is somehow inversely proportional to its scalability. In this paper we proposed a Context Aware Hybrid Recommender System using matrix reduction for Hybrid model and clustering technique for predication of item features. In our approach we used user item-feature rating, User Demographic information and context information i.e. specific time and day to improve scalability and accuracy. Our Algorithm produce better results because we reduce the dimension of items features matrix by using different reduction techniques and use user demographic information, construct context aware hybrid user model, cluster the similar user offline, find the nearest neighbors, predict the item features and recommend the Top N- items.
Purpose. The number of elders in institutions has increased as family supporting systems have changed in Korea. The purpose of this study were to understand the life satisfaction among elders in institutions and to identify the factors influencing on life satisfaction. Methods. The instruments used were Yun(1982)'s scale modified Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale for Happiness(MUNSH) in life satisfaction, ADL and IADL in activity level, Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS) in depression and Norbeck Social Support Questionnaire(NSSQ) scale in social support. Also, Perceived health status was measured by Visual Graphic Rating Scale. The subject of this study is 107 cognitively intact and ambulatory elders in 7 institutions in Daegu city and Kyungpook province. The data have been collected from May 1 to June 30, 2001. For the analysis of collected data, frequency analysis, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis were used for statistical analysis by SPSS win(version 9.0) program. Results. Life satisfaction for the elders in institutions showed negative correlation with SDS, and positive correlation with activity level. The regression form of the stepwise multiple regression analysis to investigate the influencing factors of life satisfaction for the elders in institutions was expressed by y =90.988-0. 733x1-0.188x2-0.069x3-0.565x4 (xl: SDS x2: Social support x3: Activity level x4: Monthly pocket Money) and 57.9% of varience in life satisfaction was explained by the model. Conclusion. The factors influencing on life satisfaction among the elders in institutions were SDS, social support, activity level and monthly pocket money. According to the results of this study, depression, social support and activity level are considered the prime causal factors for life satisfaction.
