Human bite injury to the eyelid is extremely rare and poses a significant challenge in surgical reconstruction. We report an extremely rare case of human bite injury to the eyelid in a 43-year-old male with approximately 60% full thickness loss of the upper eyelid and 80% to 90% full thickness loss of the lower eyelid and its successful reconstruction using the local advancement cheek flap.

Pneumorrhachis, which involves the entrapment of air or gas within the spinal canal, is a rare clinical entity, and the pathogenesis and etiologies of this uncommon entity are various and can present a diagnostic challenge. Usually, pneumorrhachis represents an asymptomatic epiphenomenon but it can produce symptoms associated with its underlying pathology. Here, we report a rare case of symptomatic epidural pneumorrhachis accompanying pneumothorax. Possible pathogenic mechanisms are discussed and a review of the literature is included.

Neurogenic weakness, ataxia and retinitis pigmentosa (NARP) syndrome is a rare maternally inherited mitochondrial disorder. Radiologic findings in NARP syndrome are varied; they include cerebral and cerebellar atrophy, basal ganglia abnormalities, and on rare occasions, leukoencephalopathy. This article describes an extremely rare case of NARP syndrome mimicking mitochondrial encephalomyopathy, lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episodes (MELAS).

We report a rare case of vaginal amelanotic melanoma. Malignant melanomas are cutaneous and extracutaneous tumors that arise from embryological remnants of neural crest cells/melanocytes. Amelanotic melanomas at such rare locations can be misdiagnosed both clinically and radiologically. Therefore, histopathological examination and immunohistochemistry are mandatory for the diagnosis of these tumors. We diagnosed this case using histopathology and confirmed the diagnosis based on the presence of immunohistochemical markers human melanoma black 45 (HMB45) and S-100.

Primary duodenal follicular lymphoma is rare and presents as multiple, small polyp-like lesions on endoscopy. If this lesion is suspected, an endoscopic biopsy is crucial for diagnosis. A watchful wait would be appropriate management as it has a fairly indolent clinical course. Herein, we present a rare case of primary duodenal follicular lymphoma.

이번 실험에서 1차 분리된 희토류 산화물로부터 column chromatography에 의하여 희토류 금속들을 분리해 내고 정량하였다. 희토류 산화물을 Amberlite IR-120 수지에 흡착시킨 다음 EDTA 암모니아 알칼리용액을 사용하여 용출시켰다. 각 분획물중의 희토류금속의 함량을 측정한 결과 Ce가 가장 효과적으로 분리되었고 Nd와 Sm도 부분적으로 분리되었으나 Pr은 전혀 분리되지 않았다.

Many welding processes are performed to construct cryogenic system. Leak-tight for the cryogenic system is required at low temperature environment. Helium leak detection techniques are commonly used to find leak for the cryogenic system. The helium leak detection techniques for spraying, sniffing and pressurizing techniques are introduced. High vacuum is also necessary to use helium leak detector. So, types of fluid flow, effective temperature, conductance and pumping speed are introduced for vacuum pumping. Leak test procedure is shown for pipe welding, cryomodule and low temperature test. Cryogenic seals which include copper gasket, helicoflex gasket and indium are investigated.

The division of the right ventricle into two chambers by aberrant muscle bands traversing the sinus portion, Double Chambered Right Ventricle[DCRV], is a relatively rare congenital cardiac malformation. Double Outlet Right Ventricle[DORV], basically recognized by the origin of both great arteries from the morphologic right ventricle, is also a rare anomaly; its frequency has been reported as approximately 0.09 case per 1,000 birth. DORV associated with DCRV, unusual combination, is even more rare; only a few known cases have been recorded previously in the literature. This report presents our surgical experience with this rare anomaly, DORV with DCRV.
