  • Recently, with the rapid advancement in information and computer vision technology, a CCTV system using object recognition and tracking has been studied in a variety of fields. However, it is difficult to recognize a precise object outdoors due to varying pixel values by moving background elements such as shadows, lighting change, and moving elements of the scene. In order to adapt the background outdoors, this paper presents to analyze a variety of background models and proposed background update algorithms based on the weight factor. The experimental results show that the accuracy of object detection is maintained, and the number of misrecognized objects are reduced compared to previous study by using the proposed algorithm.

  • As the generation and application of spatial information is gradually expanded not only in traditional surveying fields but also a CNS and an ITS recently. The Accuracy and the newest of data grow to be an important element. But digital map is updated with system based tile. So, it is hard to get the newest of data and to be satisfied with user requirements. In this study, management system is developed to manage feature change efficiently using bid informations from NaraJangter which service the bid informations. A construction works with change possibility of feature from bid informations are classified and are made DB. And the DB is used as the feature change forecast informations. Also, It is converted from bid information of text form to positioning informations connected to spatial information data. If this system is made successfully, this system contributes to reduce the cost for the update of digital map and to take the newest date of spatial informations.

  • Real-time Aerial Monitoring System performs the rapid mapping in an emergency situation so that the geoinformation could be constructed in near real time. In this system, the position and attitude information from GPS/INS integration algorithm is used to perform the aerial triangulation(AT) without GCPs. Therefore, if we obtain Exterior Orientation(EO) estimates from AT sequentially, EO are used as the measurements in the Kalman filter. In this study, we simulate the GPS/IMS/Image data for an UAV-based aerial monitoring system and compare the GPS/INS/AT with and without from AT. Comparative analysis showed that result from the GPS/INS/AT with EO update is more accurate than without the update. However, when the vehicle turns, the position error significantly increases which need more analysis in the future.

  • Because of the rapid growth of smart phone market, the number of mobile applications has increased exponentially. As mobile applications are developing at a rapid rate, many of them are being developed without considering a systematic development process or quality factors, such as reusability, extensibility, etc.. As a result, they have many faults internally, they are being underrated in satisfaction or reliability from customers, and finally customers do not update or repeat the purchase. Therefore, a meta-model of development process for mobile applications was designed to improve the continuous usability of mobile applications as well as the satisfaction and reliability from users. Applying development process based on a meta-model to mobile application development is expected to improve development productivity and quality of mobile applications.

  • The huge success of location-aware applications has called for the rapid development of an alternative positioning system to the global positioning system (GPS) for indoor localization based on existing technologies, such as 802.11 wireless networks. This paper proposes the Wireless MAC Processor Positioning System (WMPS), which is a localization system running on off-the-shelf 802.11 Access Points and based on the time-of-flight ranging of users' standard terminals. This paper proves through extensive experiments that the propagation delays can be measured with the accuracy required by indoor applications despite the different noise components that can affect the result: latencies of the hardware transreceivers, multipath, ACK jitters and timer quantization. Key to this solution is the choice of the Wireless MAC Processor architecture, which enables a straightforward implementation of the ranging subsystem directly inside the commercial cards without affecting the basic DCF channel access algorithm. In addition to the proposed measurement framework, this study developed a simple and effective localization algorithm that can work without requiring any preliminary calibration or device characterization. Finally, the architecture allows the measurement methodology to be adjusted as a function of the network load or propagation environments at the run time, without requiring any firmware update.

  • The title of this project is "A Simple Interactive 3D Interior Design Application for Living Room - Cost Management", focusing on developing an application that enables costing and designing to be executed concurrently in interior design phases. This is because any changes made at costing phase after design phase is completed, it will potentially lead to unnecessary increase in cost and time. Therefore, the objective of this project is aimed to devise a cost management module to be included in the proposed application, allowing interior designer to make cost-based decision at the designing phase itself. This can be achieved through its proposed functions which include total cost update, budget management, cost estimator calculator and material list generation. The methodology being proposed in this project is Prototyping Development, categorized under Rapid Application Development (RAD), by starting off with planning, analysis, design and implementation phases are performed concurrently and repeatedly in a cycle to produce a prototype until the application is completed. In the end of this project, the developed prototype is expected to contribute a better solution towards cost management in interior design.

  • This study presents a performance evaluation of four different land surface models (LSM) available in Weather Forecast Research (WRF). The research site was located in Haean Basin in South Korea. The basin is very unique by its geomorphology and topography. For a better representation of the complex terrain in the mesoscale model were used a high resolution topography data with a spatial resolution of 30 meters. Additionally, land-use layer was corrected by ground mapping data-sets. The observation equipments used in the study were an ultrasonic anemometer with a gas analyzer, an automatic weather station and a tethered balloon sonde. The model simulation covers a four-day period during autumn. The result shows significant impact of LSM on meteorological simulation. The best agreement between observation and simulation was found in the case of WRF with Noah LSM (WRF-Noah). The WRF with Rapid Update Cycle LSM (WRF-RUC) has a very good agreement with temperature profiles due to successfully predicted fog which appeared during measurements and affected the radiation budget at the basin floor. The WRF with Pleim and Xiu LSM (WRF-PX) and WRF with Thermal Diffusion LSM (WRF-TD) performed insufficiently for simulation of heat fluxes. Both overestimated the sensible and underestimated the latent heat fluxes during the daytime.

  • The 3D position of pedestrians is a physical quantity used in various fields, such as automotive navigation and augmented reality. An inertial navigation system (INS) based pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR), hereafter INS-PDR, estimates the relative position of pedestrians using an inertial measurement unit (IMU). Since an INS-PDR integrates the accelerometer signal twice, cumulative errors occur and cause a rapid increase in drifts. Various correction methods have been proposed to reduce drifts. For example, one of the most commonly applied correction method is the zero velocity update (ZUPT). This study investigated the characteristics of the existing INS-PDR methods based on shoe-mounted IMU and compared the estimation performances under various conditions. Four methods were chosen: (i) altitude correction (AC); (ii) step length correction (SLC); (iii) advanced heuristic drift elimination (AHDE); and (iv) magnetometer-based heading correction (MHC). Experimental results reveal that each of the correction methods shows condition-sensitive performance, that is, each method performs better under the test conditions for which the method was developed than it does under other conditions. Nevertheless, AC and AHDE performed better than the SLC and MHC overall. The AC and AHDE methods were complementary to each other, and a combination of the two methods yields better estimation performance.

  • Recently, with a rapid industry development, the recognition of environmental pollution is being increased. And the technique of pollution-prevention is also being studied. In the past, management direction for environmental pollution was limited only to concentration reduction and technique for treatment. But ,in these day, its direction is moved to a high level study such as a management and estimation of pollution material. In this study we establish a conception about EIS(Environmental Information System) building and present its building method. And we present a method for a database building, searching, analysis and printing. Also we produced the landuse map processing LANDSAT TM image. Using DDE(Dynamic Data Exchange) between Excel and ArcView on PC platform, we are enable to write and/or update a Report - waste discharge facility approval management leader - and to recover weakness about the report management of exsiting GSIS program.

  • The rapid growth of UnderWater Acoustic Sensor Networks (UW-ASNs) has led researchers to enhance underwater MAC protocols against limitations existing in underwater environment. We propose the customized robust real-time packet inspection mechanism with addressing the problem of the search for the data packet loss and network performance quality analysis in UW-ASNs, and describe our experiences using this approach. The goal of this work is to provide a framework to assess the network real-time performance quality. We propose a customized and adaptive mechanism to detect, monitor and analyze the data packets according to the MAC protocol standards in UW-ASNs. The packet analyzing method and software we propose is easy to implement, maintain, update and enhance. We take input stream as real data packets from sniffer node in capture mode and perform fully analysis. We were interested in developing software and hardware designed tool with the same capabilities which almost all terrestrial network packet sniffers have. Experimental results confirm that the best way to achieve maximum performance requires the most adaptive algorithm. In this paper, we present and offer the proposed packet analyzer, which can be effectively used for implementing underwater MAC protocols.
