  • This study carried out numerical analysis of flow field of combustion gas and sorbent to test sorbent efficiency of DSI process. To provide rapid mixing for increase utilization rate of sorbent, streamwise vorticity can be introduced into the flowing streams by other means; for example, by installing vortex generators immediately downstream of the wavy trailing edge. Computing results show that the degree of sorbent dispersion depends strongly on duct structure. Highest dispersion efficiency received when vortex generator was installed inside of duct. The results presented in this study a optimum condition for the development of practical DSI process.

  • The work presented here is an implementation of PID control to achieve a required supply air temperature in PEM(Personal environment module). In PEM, the air is heated to the required temperature while it flows through the supply duct, without any mixing chamber. This makes the control of air temperature in PEM difficult. Linear dynamic model of heat transfer in PEM is first obtained. Then P, PD and PID type control systems, to provide the rapid response without overshoot and saturation, are designed and implemented experimentally. Data obtained shows that the control system satisfied the design criteria and works properly in controlling the supply air temperature.

  • For the fabrication of ohmic contact to p-type GaAs, In Liquid Metal Ions were implanted into p-type GaAs (Zn:1.5x10**19/cm**3). After the samples were processed by Infrared rapid thermal annealing (IRTA0 or Furance Annealing (FA), I-V and specific contact contact resistivity were measured. Specific contact resistivity was found to be 1.7x10**-5 \ulcorner-cm\ulcornerin IRTA 750\ulcorner, 10 sec annealed sample. The surface characteristics of the samples were investigated with SEM, RHEED, AES. From these results we can know that implanted In ions were formed mixing layer of InAs at the surface.

  • The propose of this study is to discover concrete secondary products for proper mixing by lightweight concrete. The standard of water ratio 50% and weight substition 0%, 10%, 20% by Fly-ash. When produce manufactures, there use for maintain its form weight substition and addition among the viscosity agent each Silica-fume and Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulos. Testing method was to operate slump, air content, compressive strength test, rapid freezing and thawing test. The result of this study is appeared when substition Fly-ash generally it had better use Silica-fume.

  • In a water treatment process a complete and homogeneous dispersion of the coagulants in the raw water could be most important factor. This research was performed to evaluate coagulation performance of the in-line-orifice mixer which was recently introduced as a rapid mixing device. The test was to determine the actual coagulant dispersion distribution on the overall cross-section at a distance of 1.6~3D from the chemical injection point by measuring zeta potential. From the results of zeta potential test, it was shown that the coagulant dispersion within the in-line orifice mixer was occurred very unevenly. The results have confirmed that it is necessary to increase the velocity of coagulants injection or pressurized water rates, in order to reduce nonuniform distribution of chemicals.

  • Stratified charge has been thought as one of the ways to avoid a sharp pressure rise on HCCI combustion. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential of stratified charge for reducing PRR on HCCI combustion. The pre-mixture with thermal, mixing and EGR stratifications is charged in Rapid Compression Machine. After that, the pre-mixture is compressed and in that process, in-cylinder gas pressure and temperature are analyzed. Additionally numerical calculation with multi-zones modeling is run to know the potential of stratified charge for reducing PRR.

  • Tumble or swirl flow is used adequately to promote mixing of air and fuel in the cylinder and to enlarge turbulent intensity in the late time of compression stroke. However, since in-cylinder flow is a kind of transient state with rapid flow variation, that is, non-steady state flow, swirl or tumble flow has not been analyzed sufficiently and not been recognized whether they are available for combustion theoretically yet. In the investigation of intake turbulent characteristics using PIV method, different flow characteristics were showed according to SCV figures. SCV installed engine had higher vorticity, turbulent strength by fluctuation and turbulent kinetic energy than a baseline engine, especially around the wall and lower part of the cylinder. Consequently, as swirl flow was added to existing tumble flow, it was found that fluctuation component increased and flow energy was conserved effectively through the experiment.

  • Admixture compounds for reducing setting time and accelerating early strength development of redispersible polymer powder-modified mortars were made by mixing various inorganic accelerating inorganic materials. Redispersible polymer powder-modified mortars are prepared with various accelerator contents, and it was tested for setting time, flexural and compressive strengths. As a result, the accelerators contribute to strength development of the mortars in the early curing age of 12h or less. In the viewpoint of early strength development of redispersible polymer powder-modified mortars, an accelerator content of $20\%$ is recommended.

  • Simultaneous laser ignition and spectroscopy is a scheme that enables rapid determination of the local equivalence ratio and condensed fuel concentration during a reaction in a two phase spray flame. We have conducted quantitative analysis of the LIBS signals according to the equivalence ratio, droplet size, droplet number density and droplet concentration as a part of novel feedback control strategy proposed for flame ignition and stabilization with simultaneous in situ combustion flow diagnostics. This is a desirable scheme since such real time information onboard an engine for instance can be constantly monitored and fed back to the control loop to enhance the mixing process and minimize emissions of unwanted species and potential combustion instability.

  • The pure $TiO_2$ particles have been prepared in vapor-phase hydrolysis of titanium tetraisopropoxide(TTIP). The rate of TTIP hydrolysis was so fast that the overall rate of formation of $TiO_2$ was controlled by the rate of mixing of TTIP and $H_2O$. Thus, the primary $TiO_2$ particles were prepared in nano sizes to form chainlike aggregates due to rapid coagulation. The pure $TiO_2$ particles as prepared were amorphous at the reactor set temperatures below $400^{\circ}C$ and became anatase at the temperatures of $450^{\circ}C$ above while the weak rutile peaks were also observed above $800^{\circ}C$. The actual size of primary particles as prepared were reduced by increasing the reactor set temperature while their crystalline sizes as well as BET sizes increased by post-sintering.
