Post-buckling Behavior of Tapered Columns under a Combined Load using Differential Transformation

  • In this research, the analysis of post-buckling behavior of tapered columns has been performed under a combined load of uniformly distributed axial load along the length and concentric axial load at free end by solving the nonlinear differential equation with the differential transformation technique. The buckling load at various slopes at free end of column is calculated and the results of the analysis using the differential transformation technique is verified with those of previous studies. It is also shown through the results that the buckling load of sinusoidal tapered columns is largest, the linear is second largest, and the parabolic is small in the all ranges of slopes at free end and the deflection of parabolic tapered columns in the x coordinates is largest, the sinusoidal is second largest, and the linear is smallest in the range of slope 0 to 140 degrees at free end. However, when the range of the slope is 160 to 176 degrees at the free end, the deflection of sinusoidal tapered columns in the x coordinates is largest, the linear is second largest, and the parabolic is smallest. In addition, for the linear tapered column, the buckling load increases along with the flexural stiffness ratio. Also, for the parabolic and the sinusoidal tapered column, the buckling loads increase and decrease as the flexural ratios increase in the range of flexural stiffness ratio n = 1.0 to n = 2.0. Through this research, it is verified that the differential transformation technique can be applied to solve the nonlinear differential equation problems, such as analysis of post-buckling behavior of tapered columns. It is also expected that the differential transformation technique apply to various more complicated problems in future.

  • 본 논문에서는 RFID 시스템을 기반으로 거리 비종속(range-free) 방식의 위치추정기법을 제안한다. 이 기법에서는 위치가 알려져 있는 참조태그를 먼저 인식한 후, 함께 인식되는 대상태그들이 어떤 참조태그 주변에 존재하는지를 파악할 수 있도록 하는데, 이때 대상태그의 위치를 참조태그와의 관계(근접여부)로 표현할 수 있게 하여 위치를 추정한다. 이를 위해 RFID 시스템에서 인식 빈도에 따라 거리를 추정할 수 있도록 에이징 카운터(Aging Counter)를 이용한다. 제안하는 위치추정기법의 유효성을 증명하기위해 본 논문에서 개발한 기법을 도서관에서 사용할 수 있는 도서위치추정 시스템과 연계하여 설명하도록 한다.

투명대 제거 햄스터난자를 이용한 인간정자 침투능에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Human Spermatozoal Fertilizing Ability Using Zona -free Hamster Oocyte)

  • An in vitro fertilization assay employing zona-free hamster embryos was used to investigate human spermatozoal fertilitzing ability. Yanaghimarchi et al.(1976) first introduced this cross species fertilzation technique, with its application as a diagnostic tool for male infertility. Human spermatozoa were preincubated for 3 to 4 hrs in B W W medium at concentration of $4{\times}10^6$ sperm/ml prior to the addition to zona-free hamster embryos. After 3 hrs, human sperm was evaluated for fertilizing potential by the presence of swelling or decondencing sperm head in the cytoplasm. The results of penetration rates for sperm were as follow : 1. The average penetration rate of a 7 fertile donor group was $47.8{\pm}27.67%$(Range 14.3-98.0%) 2. The average penetration rate of 12 infertile patients with normal semen analysis was $21.7{\pm}26.9%$(Range 0-38.8%) 3. The average penetration rate of 10 infertile patients with semen abnormalities was $6.1{\pm}8.1%$(Range 0-25%)

PMDV-hop: An effective range-free 3D localization scheme based on the particle swarm optimization in wireless sensor network

  • Location information of individual nodes is important in the implementation of necessary network functions. While extensive studies focus on localization techniques in 2D space, few approaches have been proposed for 3D positioning, which brings the location closer to the reality with more complex calculation consumptions for high accuracy. In this paper, an effective range-free localization scheme is proposed for 3D space localization, and the sensitivity of parameters is evaluated. Firstly, we present an improved algorithm (MDV-Hop), that the average distance per hop of the anchor nodes is calculated by root-mean-square error (RMSE), and is dynamically corrected in groups with the weighted RMSE based on group hops. For more improvement in accuracy, we expand particle swarm optimization (PSO) of intelligent optimization algorithms to MDV-Hop localization algorithm, called PMDV-hop, in which the parameters (inertia weight and trust coefficient) in PSO are calculated dynamically. Secondly, the effect of various localization parameters affecting the PMDV-hop performance is also present. The simulation results show that PMDV-hop performs better in positioning accuracy with limited energy.

Accurate Range-free Localization Based on Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization in Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

  • This paper presents a novel range-free localization algorithm based on quantum particle swarm optimization. The proposed algorithm is capable of estimating the distance between two non-neighboring sensors for multi-hop heterogeneous wireless sensor networks where all nodes' communication ranges are different. Firstly, we construct a new cumulative distribution function of expected hop progress for sensor nodes with different transmission capability. Then, the distance between any two nodes can be computed accurately and effectively by deriving the mathematical expectation of cumulative distribution function. Finally, quantum particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to improve the positioning accuracy. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior in the localization accuracy and efficiency when used in random and uniform placement of nodes for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks.

Sensitive Determination of Natural and Synthetic Steroidal Hormones of a Free and Conjugated Form in Surface Water by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry

  • A method based on the TMS derivatives and acidic hydrolysis was developed for the simultaneous determination of free and conjugated steroidal hormones in surface water. A silylation of five natural and two synthetic steroidal hormones was achieved with N-methyl-N-(trimethylsilyl) trifluoroacetamide/$NH_4I$ (1000:3) under catalysis of dithioerythritol for 60 min at $80^{\circ}C$. TMS derivatives of the steroid hormones containing multifunctional groups offer a single derivative product under this condition. The accuracy of the analytes was in the range of 87 to 110% at a concentration of 20 and 50 ng/L with relative standard deviations of less than 10%. The method detection limit was in the range of 0.01 to 0.02 ng/L for surface water. Natural steroidal hormones were detected in a concentration range of 0 to 1.03 ng/L in free form and 0 to 14.6 ng/L in conjugated form, respectively. We found that most of the natural hormonal steroids exist in conjugate forms (43 to 100%) in river water.

확장된-APIT 테스트 기반의 거리 비종속 위치추정 기법 (Range-Free Localization Method based on extended-APIT Test)

  • 본 논문에서는 제한된 무선 센서 네트워크 영역에서의 물리적인 현상을 사용하여 저 비용으로 객체의 위치를 파악할 수 있는 거리 비종속 위치추정 방식의 대표격인 Approximate Point in Triangle(APIT) 기법에서 발생할 수 있는 위치추정 오차를 줄일 수 있는 확장된-APIT(e-APIT) 기법을 제안한다. 구체적으로는 타겟이 존재하는 영역 추출을 위한 새로운 테스트 방법을 제안하고, 이를 이용해 APIT에서 발생활 수 있는 영역 판단 오류를 최소화 시킨다. 또한 타겟의 주변 환경 정보를 이용하여 추정된 영역을 좁힘으로써 위치추정 오차를 감소시킬 수 있는 방법도 제시한다. 시뮬레이션 결과 본 논문에서 제안하는 확장-APIT 방식을 사용할 경우 기존의 APIT 방식을 사용할 경우보다 위치 추정의 정확도가 현격히 향상될 수 있는 것으로 파악되었다.

하이힐 높이에 따른 균형성 (Effects of High-heeled Shoe with Different Height on the Balance during Standing and Walking)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of high-heeled shoe on the quiet standing and gait balance. Twenty women (mean height: $161.6{\pm}3.3\;cm$, mean body mass: $53.8{\pm}6.3\;kg$, mean age: $23.8{\pm}2.7$ yrs..) who were without history or complain of lower limb pain took part in this study. They were asked to stand quietly on a force platform for 30 sec and walk on it at their preferred walking speed (mean speed $3.14{\pm}0.5\;km/hr$.) with wearing three different high-heeled shoe, 3, 7, 9 cm high for collecting data. Data were randomly recorded to collect two trials for quiet standing and five trials for walking The parameters to have been analyzed for comparison between three conditions of the height of high-heeled shoe were COP(Center of Pressure) range, COP velocity, sway area, and free moment on the static balance and COP range, COP velocity, and free moment on the dynamic balance. In this study, high-heel height affected on the COP range and velocity in the ante-posterior direction during walking, dynamic balance, but didn't affect on the quiet standing, static balance.

밝기 비트맵과 색도 일관성을 이용한 무 잔상 High Dynamic Range 영상 생성 (Ghost-free High Dynamic Range Imaging Based on Brightness Bitmap and Hue-angle Constancy)

  • HDR(high dynamic range) 영상 생성은 실세계의 고명암비 영상을 재현하는 방법이다. Exposure fusion은 여러 HDR 영상 생성방법 중 한 가지로 true-HDR 영상을 생성하지 않고, 바로 pseudo-HDR 영상을 생성하는 방법이다. 그러나 노출이 다른 여러 입력영상들 중에서 이동하는 물체가 존재하면 잔상 효과가 발생하여 pseudo-HDR 영상의 화질 열화를 가져온다. 이러한 단점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 시간 영역에서 일치성 평가를 통한 무 잔상 exposure fusion을 제안하였다. 먼저 다중 역치 및 밝기를 이용한 비트맵과 색도 일관성 맵을 이용하여 각 입력 영상들간의 일치성을 평가하였고, 이를 시간 영역 가중치 맵으로 나타내었다. 그리고 기존 exposure fusion에서의 공간 영역 가중치 맵과 결합하여 최종 가중치 맵을 생성하였다. 마지막으로 각각 입력 영상에 최종 가중치 맵을 적용한 후, 합성하여 잔상이 제거된 pseudo-HDR 영상을 생성하였다. 실험을 통해 제안된 방법의 pseudo-HDR이 기존의 방법보다 잔상이 더 많이 제거되어 화질이 개선됨을 확인하였고, 객관적인 평가 방법인 기준 영상 대비 오차도 더 적게 나타남을 확인하였다.

무선 센서 네트워크에서 칼만 필터를 이용한 잔여 힘-벡터 기반 Range-free 위치인식 알고리즘 (Range-free Localization Based on Residual Force-vector with Kalman Filter in Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 기존에 연구된 위치인식 기법은 자신의 위치를 알고 있는 앵커노드만을 참조하여 일반노드의 위치를 계산한다. 그 외 노드들 간 관계를 고려하지 않기 때문에 참조하는 앵커노드의 수가 부족하거나 앵커노드로부터의 거리정보가 부정확한 경우에는 실제위치와 예측위치 간 위치오차 뿐만 아니라 노드 간 상대적인 위치오차가 크다. 본 논문에서는 일반노드가 노드 간 거리정보 없이 앵커노드와 한 홉 거리의 이웃노드의 정보만을 참조하여 모든 이웃 노드와의 거리가 균등하도록 위치를 계산하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 노드가 모든 이웃노드와 균등한 거리에 위치함으로써 노드 간 상대적 위치오차와 네트워크 전체의 평균적인 위치오차를 감소시킨다. 다양한 환경에서의 모의실험을 통해서 제안하는 알고리즘의 성능을 평가하였다.
