A Study on illusion of Clothing Design Factors Variation Effecting Perception of Face (의복디자인 요소 변화에 의한 착시현상이 얼굴지각에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the study is to make experimental whether three-dimensional body (especially face) has illusion based on theoretical background of form dimensions and color bright among precedent multi-form illusion, using the function of computer simulation. To investigate illusion that factors of clothing design(line, color, material) effect face, as the following is tried to solve giving change to neckline, collar, scarf which is believed to influence near face. How to make experiment as follows watching in order 13 scenes of a pair of with basic design and experiment design. Then the data were subjected to analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test. The result of this studying as follows, 1. Face looks larger in complex neckline than simple neckline. The larger collar is the larger face looks. 2. In white jacket, illusion(the lower luminosity of scarf color gets, the brighter face brightness gets) is shown. In black jacket, also illusion(the higher luminosity of scarf color gets, the darker face brightness gets) is shown. 3. In experiment on hardness and softness of face impression according to the material of collar, collar of knit and fur gives us assimilation illusion bring softer impression of face.

  • Printing inks are basically dispersions of solid pigment particles in a vehicle. Pigment flocculation and/or colloidal aggregates created by thixotrope additives form a three- dimensional network in the inks. This structure complicates the flow behaviour of inks. However, if the internal structure is formed under control, the printing process will benefit from it because the ink must satify rheological requirements over a very wide range of shear conditions. The presence of internal structure results in the following prominent non-Newtonian rheological properties: viscoelasticity, yield stress, shear thinning and thixotropy. If the components of printing inks were changed, the rheological characteristics such as viscosity, yield stress, viscoelasticity and tack value were considerably varied. Thus, in this paper, the effects of changing the content of rosin modified phenolic resin on rheological properties of the vehicle will be studied. For that, the rheological properties were found by flow, yield stress, creep and oscillation measurements using Bohlin C-VOR Rotational Rheometer. And Emulsion rheology and its microstructure will be investigated.

Synthesis of N-doped Titania using Ammonium Hydroxide and Photocatalytic Degradation of Humic Acid (암모니아수를 이용한 N-doped TiO2 제조 및 부식산의 광촉매 분해)

  • To advance luminance efficiency of Titania at visible range, N-doped $TiO_2$ was prepared by using ammonium hydroxide as a source of nitrogen. The photoactivities of the synthesized $TiO_2$ were evaluated on the basis of degradation of humic acid in aqueous solutions with different light sources, UV-C, UV-A and fluorescent lamp. As a result, at UV-C is high efficiency $UV_{254}$ decrease and TOC removal. In this study, the best synthetic conditions of N-doped $TiO_2$ were 5.0 M of ammonium hydroxide concentration and calcination temperature of $550^{\circ}C$. The degradation rate of humic acid as an evaluation of photoactivities of the catalysts were conducted with pH variation, decrease rate of molecular absorption, removal rate of total organic carbon and fluorescece evolution for humic acid solution. XRD and SEM were applied for analysis of surface analysis of the catalysts.

  • Acoustic Characteristics of Nitrile Butadiene Rubber with Carbon Black ContentAcoustic and mechanical properties of Nitrile Butadiene Rubbers (NBR) with the variation of the carbon black content were investigated. NBR where the acrylonitrile content is $33\%$ based on the mole percent has been prepared with fixed sulfur content for vulcanization. Acoustic measurement of the prepared rubbers were peformed in the frequency region of $300\;\~\;1000\;kHz$. Their mechanical properties such as density, hardness were also measured. Increase of the carbon black content in the rubber resulted in enhancement of the mechanical property and linear increase of the sound speed as function of the carbon black content. Interestingly, attenuation of the sound speed was only affected by the existence of the carbon black and not by the amount of carbon black in the experiment range of this article. In this study, it was found that the amount of carbon black content in the NBR was correlated with the acoustic properties and can be estimated nondestructively by the measurement of the specific acoustic property.

Febrication of $Si_3-N_4$ Bonded SiC Ceramics (질화규소에 의한 SiC 소결체의 제조에 관한 연구)

  • It is know that $Si_3-N_4$ bonded SiC has almost all the valuable properties needed for the high temperature material and thus has bery wide range of applicability. Si powder and two different sized SiC powder were used as the raw mateials. Specimens were prepared by heating the green compact mode of the raw materials with polyvinyl alcohol binder in the nitrogen atmosphere. The bond-ing of SiC particles is brought about with the formation of reaction bonded silicon nitride phase between the particles he influences of the variation of the relative amounts of the raw materials and the amount of the organic binder on the density and the bend strength of the specimens were investigated. It was shown that the calculation of the amount of the nitridation of Si is somewhat complicated matter since some portion of the organic binder reacts with the Si during the firing process. Fixing the Si amount to 20w/o the distributions of the size of the SiC particles that gives the maximum density and the maximum strnegth were obtained through experiments. It was observed that the two distributions were not equal to each other. As the amount of Si increased the amount of Si reacted with nitrogen and the strength increased. The fracture mode was intergranular for the most part and the transgranular fracture was scarcely observed.

Vertical and torsional soil reactions for radially inhomogeneous soil layer

  • The response of an embedded body to dynamic loads is greatly influenced by the reactions of the soil to the motion of the body. The properties of the soil surrounding embedded bodies (e.g., piles) may be different than those of the far-field for a variety of reasons. It may be weakened or strengthened according to the method of installation of piles, or altered due to applying one of the soil strengthening technique (e.g., electrokinetic treatment of soil, El Naggar et al. 1998). In all these cases, the shear strength of the soils and its shear modulus vary gradually in the radial direction, resulting in a radially inhomogeneous soil layer. This paper describes an analysis to compute vertical and torsional dynamic soil reactions of a radially inhomogeneous soil layer with a circular hole. These soil reactions could then be used to model the soil resistance in the analysis of the pile vibration under dynamic loads. The soil layer is considered to have a piecewise, radial variation for the complex shear modulus. The model is developed for soil layers improved using the electrokinetic technique but can be used for other situations where the soil properties vary gradually in the radial direction (strengthened or weakened). The soil reactions (impedance functions) are evaluated over a wide range of parameters and compared with those obtained from other solutions. A parametric study was performed to examine the effect of different soil improvement parameters on vertical and torsional impedance functions of the soil. The effect of the increase in the shear modulus and the width of the improved zone is investigated.

Serologic monitoring of animal welfare-oriented laying-hen farms in South Korea

  • As animal welfare issue becomes important, the European Union bans conventional cages for laying hens from 2012. So the alternative housing systems like floor pens, aviaries or free range systems have been suggested. From 2011 to 2014, we monitored 20 welfare-oriented laying hen farms in South Korea to figure out serological status of major viral diseases. During this period, total 3,219 blood samples were collected from the randomly selected chickens to test and evaluate the hemagglutination inhibition titers for low pathogenic avian influenza, Newcastle disease and egg drop syndrome '76. A total of 2,926 blood samples were tested through enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to assess the serological status of infectious bronchitis (IB). The distribution of ELISA titers for IB was various from almost 0 to 20,000 through the all weeks of age. Also, the antibody coefficient of variation for most of the diseases in this study was higher than those of typical cage layers. As this study was the first surveillance for major avian viral diseases of the animal welfare-oriented farms in South Korea, the results obtained from this study will help to determine what information and resources are needed to maintain better biosecurity and to improve the health and welfare of laying hen flocks.

Multilayered High-directional Waveguide Grating Antenna Based on Interleaved Etching for Optical Phased Arrays

  • We propose a highly directional waveguide grating antenna for an optical phased array, achieving high directionality of more than 97% by interleaving the trenches with different etching depths in the silicon nitride layer, and adopting a multilayered structure. Meanwhile, the multilayered structure reduces the perturbation strength, which enables a centimeter-scale radiation length. The beam-steering range is 13.2°, with a wavelength bandwidth of 100 nm. The 1-dB bandwidth of the grating is 305 nm. The multilayered grating structure has a large tolerance to the fabrication variation and is compatible with CMOS fabrication techniques.

Early Hydration Properties of BFS by a Change of pH (pH 변화에 따른 고로수쇄 BFS의 초기 수화 특성)

  • This study investigated on the early hydration and physical characteristics of BFS by pH variation. NaOH solution was used as a pH activator. In the range from pH 12 to pH 14, Experiment was compared the hydration propertied of OPC(Ordinary Portland Cement) and BFS(Blast Furnace BFS) and BFS containing 2 wt% of gypsum. It was found that CAH(Calcium Aluminate Hydrates) phases and CSH(Calcium Silicate Hydrates) phases were formed during the early hydration of BFS, and that CAH phases, CSH phases and ettringites were formed during the early hydration of BFS containing 2 wt% of gypsum. Furthermore, early hydration of BFS and BFS containing 2 wt% of gypsum were faster then OPC at pH 14, and the 1 day compressive strength of BFS increased by approximately 30% compared to OPC, and BFS containing 2 wt% of gypsum also increased by approximately 40% compared to OPC.

On the background levels of $CO_2$ observed at Tae-ahn Peninsula in Korea during 1990-1992 (한국의 태안반도에서 관측된 이산화탄소의 배경농도에 관한 연구)

  • Since November 1990, the observations of carbon dioxide$(CO_2)$ levels have been carried out at Tae-ahn Peninsula(TAP) in Korea. Analysis on atmospheric data obtained in the period from November 1990 to August 1992 is carried out and the results are included in this study. It is observed that variations of monthly average level on $CO_2$ are in the range of 315.72 $\sim$ 365.37ppm(amplitude 17.65ppm). The seasonal variation is large with a maximum occurring in March-April and with a minimum in July-August. A comparison of TAP data is made with data obtained at Ryori in Japan for 1991. The annual average value of TAP is 1.79ppm higher than that of Ryori. It is also found that in summer the minimum level of $CO_2$ at TAP is almost same as the $CO_2$ level occurring at Quinghai Province in China and at Ulaan Uul in Mongolia. Albeit, a maximum concentration of $CO_2$ at TAP is slightly higher than that of the same gas observed at other sites in spring. We interpret that TAP is generally under the influence of airflows coming from China. According to analysis of trajectories and airflows, we find the high values of $CO_2$ when an air flow is originated mainly from China and when an airflow is both of local(Korea) and of China origins. In contrast, when an airflow of maritime origin arrives, a low value of the atmospheric constituent is observed at TAP.
