서비스수준(LOS)을 감안한 고속철도 노선 및 차량관리방안 (A Study on Managing High-Speed Railway Links and Rolling Stocks Based on the Level of Service)

  • 본 논문에서는 고속철도 노선 및 철도차량의 서비스수준을 정의하고 이를 감안한 철도노선 및 철도차량의 관리방안을 제시하였다. 고속철도시설의 서비스수준(LOS) 등급은 A부터 F까지 6단계로 구분하여 제안하였다. 우선, 고속철도 노선의 서비스수준을 나타내는 효과척도는 열차지연으로 정의하였다. 구체적으로는 총 지연시간과 노선이용률 간 관계를 활용하여 서비스수준을 구분하였다. 추가적으로 노선용량이용율 (V/C)이라는 효과척도도 제시되었다. 한편, 고속철도 차량의 서비스수준을 결정짓는 효과척도는 차량 내 탑승 승객밀도로 정하였다. 좌석정원을 꽉채우는 수준을 LOS "D"로 정의하고 LOS A는 LOS D의 50%, LOS B는 LOS D의 70%, LOS C는 LOS D의 90%, LOS E~F는 최대 좌석수에 입석승차수를 감안하였다. 마지막으로 정부에서 정한 목표 서비스수준을 유지할 수 있도록 철도노선과 철도차량을 관리하는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • The study for ubiquitous computing infra is proceeding actively, it make possible to use service and access network anywhere, anytime because of wire/wireless communication technology and progress of hardware. Domestically, study for the network mobility support technology which is the key technology for future ubiquitous computing realization have progressed, but that is insufficient. Especially, there is no study for independent mobility support study about railway wireless network. So, this study propose network mobility management technology for mobile network infra in railway and proper network model in train.

Research on Railway Safety Common Data Model and DDS Topic for Real-time Railway Safety Data Transmission

  • In this paper, we propose the design of railway safety common data model to provide common transformation method for collecting data from railway facility fields to Real-time railway safety monitoring and control system. This common data model is divided into five abstract sub-models according to the characteristics of data such as 'StateInfoMessage', 'ControlMessage', 'RequestMessage', 'ResponseMessage' and 'ExtendedXXXMessage'. This kind of model structure allows diverse heterogeneous data acquisitions and its common conversion method to DDS (Data Distribution Service) format to share data to the sub-systems of Real-time railway safety monitoring and control system. This paper contains the design of common data model and its DDS Topic expression for DDS communication, and presents two kinds of data transformation case studied for verification of the model design.

  • The objective of this paper is to measure the relative technical efficiency of Korean railway transport service. Previous studies on the efficiency in Korean railway service have carried out before the structural reform of Korean railway industry in 2004, whereas this study used the latest data which reflected the impact of reform. We analyzed the efficiency in Korean railway transport by means of measuring the technical efficiencies of other countries, these were estimated with data envelopment analysis. DEA has gained great popularity in measuring efficiency in transport industry, school, government, hospital and so on in recent years. This analysis could serve as peer to help improve performance of the railway management and operation.

  • 대도시 고밀도 도시철도에서는 상습 열차운행 지연과 혼잡으로 승객의 불편과 불만이 커지고 있다. 도시철도는 열차운행의 비정규성과 수요의 불확정성 등 지역간 철도와는 다른 특성을 가지고 있다. 도시철도 운영회사에서는 실적자료를 기반으로 열차운행품질과 혼잡도와 같은 서비스품질을 집계하여 관리하고 있다. 그러나 수요와 승객행태에 따라 열차운행이 동적으로 변하는 특성을 가지고 있어 실제 느끼는 서비스품질을 표현하기에는 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 승객 관점에서의 서비스품질을 계량화하고, 도시철도에서 수요에 따른 정차시분 및 열차운행상태의 동적변화를 예측할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 방법과 지연/혼잡 해소방안에 대한 실제 사례를 기반으로 운행서비스품질의 변화를 예측할 수 있는 방법론을 제시한다.

  • In recently, our social is entering to service infinite competitive time., So If companys don't give satifactory and an impression customers, they don't exist. The Companies that operate railway are promoted(Seoul metro). The Korail, Seol metropolitan Rapid Transit Corperation, Incheon Rapid Transit Corporation), they are into a stronger competitor. So the service for customer is more inportant to improve the image and administration than before. Especially, station workers who work near the customer are important for cooperation image. But, there are only a few employees to operate the station like ticketing in railway station, There aren't reinforcement the service employees and expanse the utility system. especially, since the transportation card is introduced in 1996, the customers who use the T-Money card are increased. So the change of service system is necessary to provide a substantial service to customer. This paper derives the problems through analysising the operating system of station, and presents the improvement to provide substantial services to customer

PROLONG THE SERVICE LIFE OF SWITCH RAIL BY IMPROVED INDUCTION HEAT TREATMENT

  • Switch rail is a very important part on the railway track, which not only accounts for the safety of the passing trains but also greatly influences the speed of the train. The higher the speed and the loads of the train the more it demands on the properties of the switch rail. Research shows that the higher mechanical properties of switch rail the longer the service life. Induction heat treatment is a good way of improving the mechanical properties of metallic materials. But the switch rail's section area changes gradually across the lengthways, which is difficult for induction heating especially for the small section. And the mechanical property of small section of the switch rail is the most important for its service life. The induction heat treatment used past always brings the low hardness on small section which can cause low service life of switch for wearing, or too high hardness because of martensite microstructure which can cause the shelling or even breaking of the switch rail. To prolong the service life of switch rail by higher mechanical properties, we researched the improved induction heat treatment for switch rail by adjusting speed of heating, and adopting compressed air cooling. The results showed that switch rail obtain almost the same high hardness across the length way after the improved induction heat treatment, which is very helpful to extend the service life of switch rail.

Stochastic Channel Modeling for Railway Tunnel Scenarios at 25 GHz

  • More people prefer using rail traffic for travel or for commuting owing to its convenience and flexibility. The railway scenario has become an important communication scenario in the fifth generation era. The communication system should be designed to support high-data-rate demands with seamless connectivity at a high mobility. In this paper, the channel characteristics are studied and modeled for the railway tunnel scenario with straight and curved route shapes. On the basis of measurements using the "Mobile Hotspot Network" system, a three-dimensional ray tracer (RT) is calibrated and validated for the target scenarios. More channel characteristics are explored via RT simulations at 25.25 GHz with a 500-MHz bandwidth. The key channel parameters are extracted, provided, and incorporated into a 3rd-Generation-Partnership-Project-like stochastic channel generator. The necessary channel information can be practically realized, which can support the link-level and system-level design of the communication system in similar scenarios.

  • Recently with the rapid development in mobile communication, the mobile phone are utilized in many fields of railway system within country and abroad and its use tends to increase continuously. In the railway system, the applicable realm is spreaded to the fields of railway signal communication, railway operating, track maintenance, reservation and information service, also its role is expected to increase. In this thesis, we are surveying the usage application of home and abroad mobile phone in railway system. Studying the present condition of mobile communication in railway system, we are viewing the application plan and the direction of development.

  • Since it's introduction in the late 19 century, the railway has taken an important role as people's feet and has conducted a stable management due to it's exclusive position for a long time. However, the competitions with other transportation devices such as cars and airlines are making it's previous position more or less weaker. In 1998, celebrating 100th anniversary, Korea Railway established the Customer Satisfaction Service Charter for the purpose of overcoming this competitive weakness, and as well to enhance it's service quality. The main purpose of this article is to depict and review the effectiveness of Customer Satisfaction Service Charter that has been adapted for a decade, and to suggest some effective supporting system that can make the charter to function more efficiently, and that would lead to the better realization of customer satisfaction service.
