This study proposes a model for railway safety assessment with which the safety of whole railway system can be evaluated. The purpose of the assessment model is to generate safety indicators which quantitatively represent the degree of railway safety. Safety indicators were proposed as three indicators according to their functions; accident indicators, safety management indicators, and safety culture indicators. This paper describes the first result on the safety target which will be a key starting point toward the development of safety assessment model. It is recommended that the safety target to be composed of several sub-targets are apportioned to constituent components. It is concluded that the classification of safety target has influence on deciding components or attributes that constitute each sub-indicators; accident indicators, safety management indicators, and safety culture indicators. Based on this study, a railway safety assessment model will be developed in the following study.

The purpose of this study is to analyze human factors - stress, alcohol, fatigue - of the railway driver in domestic railway industry. This study proposes railway safety improvement of domestic railway by intensively comparing railway safety system overseas to reinforce domestic railway safety. Domestic railways well known the well-organized railway safety culture has brought up safety issues on their process of private management. With this process, also, domestic safety is requested by increasing sense of the safety for general public. This study expects Korean railways to become a well-organized that as removing insecure factors of domestic railway based on result comparing and analyzing the manual, factors and requirements of guideline for internal and external safety culture.

The safety culture of an organization is the product of individual and group values, attitudes, perceptions, competencies, and patterns of behaviour that determine the commitment to, and the style and proficiency of, an organization's health and safety management. A good safety culture includes effective, appropriate safety management systems; strong safety leadership & commitment from management; participation and involvement of the workforce; and organizational learning and continuous improvement. This paper will introduce the safety culture inspection standards and process in Korea Railway. The main purpose is to get a better understanding of safety culture and to develop measuring tool. First of all we developed the composition factor of safety culture and the question set. And we prepared the base of computerization of safety culture measurement by developing of evaluation standards and weighted value.

The korea railway design has been developed by change of the society and culture through the consideration of the history of railway. Accordingly there contribute in the development of the korea railway design by analyzing the trend according to the changes o the korea railway design and the changes of the life environment in this paper. As dividing the design by period according to the changes of life environment into the internal and external nation, there are to analyze the development history of the korea railway design accordingly the railway and the style's change, to confirm into the design applied in society and culture needs, and to analyze by a year in changes of the environment and the korea railway design history from the 1800's to 2005.

The purpose of this thesis is, based on the cognitive response of employees, to depict the phenomenon and the pattern of organizational culture in A Subway system, To attain this purpose, several aspects of organizational culture are surveyed through questionaire and analyzed by SPSS. The major findings are . 1) In general, the cognitive response of employees in railway-concerned firms on culture-related aspects is awfully negative. 2) Job satisfaction and involvement in A Subway is highly related to achievement factor in terms of culture. 3) According to the analysis based on four kinds of Job Groups, certain job groups such as drivers and vehicle maintenance are seen as having exceptionally negative attitude towards every aspects of their organization. So, some careful diagnosis and approaches to the symptoms, the causes, and the treatments are urgently needed.

This paper considers the case study of the change management and business innovation of the rail construction agency fer overcoming the crisis it faced in early stage. It will provide the suitable innovation techniques of each change stage. Also, each phase it evaluated the change degree of organization culture especially by the six box model of Weisbord and the Quinn's model. For the Period of Change, organization culture will grow about 10% and harmonize with 4 competitive organization culture; community, innovation, hierarchy, product. Only, it discovered that the difference of the current culture and rho organizer' wish is considerable by the Quinn's model. It wilt be able to describe the innovation fatigue which the organizers feel in the change of organization culture. For the successful innovation, it wilt have to be managed properly and the new innovation technique will have to be developed for solving.

Generally speaking, the uniqueness of Korea for the high-speed railway rolling-stock is mainly perceived through the travel over the high-speed electric railway by passengers, which consists of the organization of space in the coach and its interior design. For such purpose, it is necessary to build a series of independent cultures with high-speed railway i.e. to have the development of design technologies oriented to harmonizing human beings, their society and culture with the systematic integration of production technologies to support the culture and its substructure foundation which constitute the frame of superstructure in the society, by defining the relationships with travelers on the high-speed railway as well as enhancing the comfort and convenience of high-speed railway through drawing up the development of links with the systematic integration among lines of technologies on the basis of 'User Train Interface. This thesis aims at introducing the study carried out to build the evaluation standards of performance outputs for 'HEMU-400X rolling-stock Design' derived from the performance for the first year in the research 'Development of Technologies for the Next-Generation High-Speed Railway' as part of "Development Project for the Future Railway Technologies" from 2007.

In the 21st century, the traffic culture is changing suddenly with the advent of high-speed train era so called the traffic revolution age. The policy management for inducing the creativity becomes important for research institutes since the research institutes play an important role for the lead and distribution of new technologies. Therefore, the approach strategy of this investigation is based on the viewpoint of the organizational culture for better performance of research and development through stimulating inducements of creativity and active action of members. A questionnaire survey was performed on five research institutes including a professional railway research institute (PRRI) and four industrial research institutes for the current research, and a development plan for organizational culture of a PRRI has been presented based on the comparison study between two different types of research institutes.

철도는 육상수송수단으로서 18세기부터 사용되고 왔는데, 근대적 개념의 철도는 증기기관의 이용이 그 정의로 사용되며, 영국 북서부에서 Stockton & Darlington Railway가 증기기관차 운행을 개시한 것이 그 효시가 되었다. 체계화된 운행시스템을 가진 증기기관차 운행 전용철도로서는 영국의 Manchester & Liverpool Railway가 시작이다. 이러한 역사를 가진 철도는 각국에서 여러 가지 모양으로 발전되었고 시간이 지남에 따라 보존되고 있다. 특히 철도를 최초로 운영한 영국은 다양한 형태의 철도문화유산 보존체계를 가지고 있다. 또한, 아시아에서는 철도분야에서 가장 빠른 발전과 민영화 경험을 가진 일본도 체계적인 철도문화유산보존 시스템을 구축하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 영국과 일본의 양국 철도문화유산제도와 사례비교를 통해 우리나라에 주는 시사점을 살펴보고자 한다. 본 논문의 연구방법은 비교연구의 방식을 채택하였는데, 양국이 가진 법과 제도 및 운영사례 비교분석을 통해 비교와 시사점을 도출하는 방식으로 전개하였다.
