A Study on Trend of Technology Development for Super-Speed Maglev (초고속 자기부상철도 기술개발 동향조사 및 분석)

  • In this study, to understand the technology development trend of super-speed maglev, the patents applied by major countries are analyzed. And based on the analyzed results, the domestic technology development direction are suggested. For patent analysis, the major technologies for super-speed maglev are classified into 14 parts. Then, through the quantitative analysis method such as number, increase rate and share rate, the overview of technology development and focused parts by each country are investigated. Also through the qualitative analysis method such as concentration degree, citation index and market share index, the technology level and market securing ability of each country are anticipated. Considering the analyzed results and technology development trend, the domestic technology development direction such as priority development fields and methods are proposed.

  • The objectives of this study is to achieved by the use of the conceptual approach and accident data bases to develop statistical accident analysis, effectiveness values, comparison analysis of statistical models to determine which variables are significantly related to accidents, human factor, and hazard factor analysis, all of which were used in the railroad crossing. The result from this approach applicable to the railroad crossing where systematic safety management criteria have been considered.

  • Currently, most of Passenger Service System is supported to VOD in Korea. This current PSS has not internet access, real time broadcasting system and entertainment. The system did not come up to the expectation of consumer. This paper presents an application of new Passenger Service System for developing multimedia as well as wireless communication technology on internet, satellite broadcasting.

  • Uniaxial and biaxial torsional fatigue tests were conducted on the samples extracted from urban railway wheel steel. Ultimate and yield strengths of the steel were 1027.7 MPa and 626 MPa, respectively. The uniaxial fatigue limit was 422.5 MPa, corresponding 67% of the ultimate tensile strength. The ratio of ${\tau}_e/{\sigma}_e$ was 0.63. Fatigue strength coefficient and exponent were 1319.5 MPa and 0.339, respectively. Maximum principal and equivalent strain were found to be adequate parameter to predict fatigue lifetime of the steel under multiaixal fatigue condition.

  • Railroad, the structure maintenance and restoration project was increased and widely performed in concrete pavement road and airport, building at downtown area, bridge abutment, and other concrete structures. Especially, the ground reinforcement technique by quick-reaction expansible resins is the most effective countermeasures against differential settlement and undesired deformation of structure. In this paper, the unconfined compressive strength and some environmental related tests were conducted to evaluate compressive strength and environmental effect of quick-reaction expansive resins and soil mixtures. Also, three case histories of concrete structure and railroad restoration project are presented. Based on the laboratory test, the quick-reaction expansible resins and soil mixture represent the sufficient compressive strength and the leachate material is satisfied the environmental regulation limits. As a result of this study, the structure restoration technology using quick-reaction expansible resins is very effective for restoration of differential settlement and deformation, and it is environmentally sustainable technology.

  • The one of the necessary technologies to live in the ubiquitous society that we can exchange some informations whenever it is and wherever we are, is the technology of context-awareness. The technology of context-awareness can be used various fields-medical science, national defense, national security and etc. and the technology can affect our society by and large. The technology of context-awareness is also applicable to many fields in the urban transit. In this paper, we describe the present condition of the technology of context-awareness and the examples of practical application of it and suggest some plans that are applicable to build an intelligent surveillance system for urban transit. We can connect the operating officer who is in the nearest to the place where the some events happened within the urban transit service area through the intelligent surveillance system for urban transit and we can eel a foothold in perceiving automatically various events within urban transit service area. So, the technology of context-awareness is the basic technology to realize an intelligent surveillance for urban transit, for the security of passengers and the protection of facilities in urban transit.

  • The railway signaling systems are computerized vital equipments for safety guarantee of train running. And also it is important to prepare the reliable communication link between signalling equipments. In this paper the review of network technology for railway signalling is presented and reliable network technology for network is represented.   • Recently, railroad's preference greatly increased as the environment-friendly means of transportation as the importance in the aspects of environment and energy efficiency. So the government established the Korea Rail Network Authority which takes full charge of railroad construction in 20047 for regular railroad construction to combine major key points in the whole country with each other to be one city region by connecting them to each other to be within the commute time range of a hour and thirty minutes. And it has arranged large-scale railroad construction by establishing plans to build the 1st and 2nd national railroad networks as the national project and investing about 100 trillion won in it from 2006 to 2020. As large-scale railroad construction is promoted as the national project like this, there has been a string of safety accidents in it due to the large and complex construction project. As the government strengthened the safety accident prevention plans, safety accidents have tended to decrease in 2011. However, accidents of construction machinery have found to increase. Therefore, this study tried to investigate accident cases of the Korea Rail Network Authority for the recent 5 years and analyze accidents of construction machinery to prevent them in railroad construction sites and suggest accident prevention plans due to it by conducting, investigating, and analyzing the survey of its operators and superintendents of the construction sites and drawing the problems.
