  • During the test operation period of the wind profiler prototype, radio frequency interference (RFI) contamination occurred in the spectrum. The reference of the RFI that removed the algorithm appearing in the wind profiler spectrum were investigated, and a new algorithm was developed to remove the RFI. First, it was filtered with a threshold value of 0.1 m/s of the spectral width, and the range of the number of gates with the same radial velocity was determined according to whether the beam was a vertical beam or an oblique beam. RFI contamination was removed through filtering and scanning of non-weather signals, and the continuity of wind vectors calculated from the improved spectral radial velocity was verified.

  • Particularly in wireless communications, link errors severely affect the quality of the services due to the high error probability and the specific error characteristics (burst errors) in the radio access part of the network. In this work, we show that thorough analysis and appropriate modeling of radio-link error behavior are essential to evaluate and optimize higher layer protocols and services. They are also the basis for finding network-aware cross-layer processing algorithms which are capable of exploiting the specific properties of the link error statistics, such as predictability. This document presents the analysis of the radio link errors based on measurements in live Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) radio access networks as well as new link error models originating from that analysis. It is shown that the knowledge of the specific link error characteristics leads to significant improvements in the quality of streamed video by applying the proposed novel network- and content-aware cross-layer scheduling algorithms. Although based on live UMTS network experience, many of the conclusions in this work are of general validity and are not limited to UMTS only.

  • According to diffusion and wide utilization of Radio telecommunication, demands of radio frequency source are increasing. Thus, we have o continuously study on regulations which should be managed efficiently and usefully for father technical developing. In this paper dispute bout developing radio frequency police depends on changes of conditions and sing radio frequency source depend on a variation of environment and an advance of technique and then we consider a international agreement and an amendment of international regulations for an alternative proposal so that we suggest foundations of national radio regulations for revisions and decisions connect with radio frequency control policies and rules.

  • In this paper, a voltage controlled injection-locked oscillator(VC-ILO) is proposed for wideband applications. From the control of the free-running frequency by a varactor diode, the wide frequency locking range can be obtained for low-level injected signals. The proposed VC-ILO is implemented on an FR-4 substrate with a thickness of 0.8 mm. The free-running frequencies of the oscillator is 2.39~2.52 GHz at the control voltage of 0~5 V. While the frequency locking range of over 50 MHz is presented for -10 dBm injected signal level at a fixed frequency, the locking range of over 90 MHz can be achieved for -30 dBm by controlling the free-running frequency.

  • This paper analyzed a potential interference of electric equipments on radio service below 30MHz through an experiment with a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) TV and a RF(Radio Frequency) light bulb in an anechoic chamber. The radiation levels of the PDP TV and the RF light bulb are measured and a combined interference is calculated on the basis of the experimental value. As a result, the combined interference signal level is increased according to the number of interferer. The possibility of a potential interference from electric equipments on radio service below 30MHz is realized through comparison between the measured radiation value of electric equipments and the CISPR(International Special Committee on Radio Interference) 11 limit.

  • Radio environment maps (REMs) and geolocation database represent an important source of information for the operation of cognitive radio networks, replacing or complementing spectrum sensing information. This paper provides a survey of methods for constructing the radio frequency layer of radio environment map (RF-REM) using distributed measurements of the signal levels at a given frequency in space and time. The signal level measurements can be obtained from fixed or mobile devices capable of sensing radio environment and sending this information to the REM. The signal measurements are complemented with information already stored in different REM content layers. The combined information is applied for estimation of the RF-REM layer. The RF-REM construction methods are compared, and their advantages and disadvantages with respect to the spatial distribution of signal measurements and computational complexity is given. This survey also indicates possible directions of further research in indirect RF-REM construction methods. It emphasizes that accurate RF-REM construction methods should in the best case support operation with random and clustered signal measurements, their operation should not be affected by measurements outliers, and it must estimate signal levels comparably on all RF-REM locations with moderate computational effort.

  • As wireless traffic drastically increase with the expansion of smart equipment, it is necessary to develop spectrum sharing technologies and introduce spectrum sharing policy for utilizing limited radio resources efficiently. In order to meet these new changes, this parper investigated the government-held (or license) spectrum to seek candidate frequency bands of spectrum sharing. Based on the database of the existing radio station, the investigated candidate frequency bands of spectrum sharing was experimented locally, considering the central frequency, bandwidths, and the region where the radio station is usedIn conclusion, we found out about 901 MHz bandwidths for regional spectrum sharing within the spectrum of 1~4.5 GHz. These bandwidths can be utilized in M2M and WiFi services, etc. based on spectrum sharing technology in the future.

  • In this paper, we present an improved channel estimation method for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems using pilot-symbol-aided parameter estimation. Conventional linear minimum mean square error(LMMSE) channel estimation method uses only pilot symbols for channel estimation. So, as the fading channel varies rapidly, a performance is decreased. We proposed a channel estimation method, which estimates channel attenuation in the middle of pilots using pilot symbols and then estimates the whole channel attenuation with pilots and estimated channel attenuation. Compared with conventional LMMSE channel estimation method, the proposed method is significantly robust in a rapid fading channel with high Doppler frequency and delay spread.
