연료전지용 탄화수소 전해질 막의 산화안정성 향상을 위한 유기물 복합막의 제조 및 특성 분석 (Hydrocarbon-Organic Composite Membranes for Improved Oxidative Stability for PEMFC Applications)

  • 양이온 교환막 연료전지 운전 중에 발생하는 하이드록시 라디칼에 의한 전해질 막의 산화분해를 효과적으로 방지하기 위해 유기물 라디칼냐��쳐를 도입하였다. 술폰화 폴리아릴렌에테르술폰 고분자를 이용하여 폴리페놀 화합물의 일종인 루틴을 도입하여 복합막을 제조하였고, 제조된 고분자 전해질 복합막은 함수율 및 이온전도도의 측정을 통하여 루틴이 전해질 막의 물리화학적 성질에 미치는 영향에 대해서 조사하였다. 실제 연료전지 운전과 유사한 조건을 구현할 수 있는 과산화수소 폭로 가속화 평가장치를 이용하여 전해질 복합막의 산화안정성을 평가하였다. 루틴을 함유한 고분자 전해질 복합막은 이온전도도가 유지되면서 산화안정성이 향상된 결과를 보여주었다.

국내 수계 원수에서 오존공정에 의한 브로메이트 생성 경로 평가 (Evaluation of Bromate Formation Pathway by Ozonation in Domestic Raw Waters)

  • In order to evaluate the optimum operation condition of ozonation to minimize bromate formation, based on the NOM characteristics of raw waters, the pathway of bromate formation by ozonation in domestic raw waters was investigated. Considering the bromate formation reactions, the fractions of bromate formation from bromide by OH radical and molecular ozone were calculated with measured values of ozone decay rate ($k_c$) and Rct. The results showed that molecular ozone is more important role in the formation of bromate in domestic raw waters than OH radical. The ratio of bromide oxidation reaction by molecular ozone ranged 73~88%. Fractions of $HOBr/OBr^-$ reaction with both molecular ozone and OH radical were also determined. OH radical reaction with $HOBr/OBr^-$ was dominant. The differential equations based on the stoichiometry of bromate formation were established to predict the formation rate of bromate by ozonation. The results shows good correlation with experimental results.

  • 고분자전해질 연료전지를 OCV(open circuit voltage)나 저가습 조건하에서 운전하면 고분자전해질 막의 열화 (degradation)가 가속화된다. 그런데 왜 이러한 조건에서 막 열화가 심하게 되는지 명확히 규명한 연구결과들이 없다. 본 연구에서는 OCV/저가습 조건에서 운전 중 막의 수소 투과도, I-V 분극곡선 변화를 측정하고 응축수 내 불소이온 방출 속도(FER)와 셀 내 생성된 과산화수소 농도를 측정하였다. 그리고 기존의 과산화수소와 라디칼에 의한 고분자막 열화 메카니즘이 실험결과를 설명할 수 있는지 비교 검토하였다. OCV/저가습 조건에서 고분자 막 열화가 잘 되는 것은 건조한 anode의 Pt 촉매 상에서 Pt와 수소원자가 결합된 상태 즉 [PtH]로의 반응이 잘 일어나고 이 [PtH]가 OCV 조건에서는 $HO_2{\cdot}$를 형성할 수 있는 조건을 만족하기 때문으로 보인다.

멜라토닌이 백서의 임의형 등피판 생존에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Melatonin on the Random Flap Survival in the Rat)

  • Purpose: In skin flap surgery, surgeons often encounter distal ischemia of the flap. If a powerful free radical scavenger is used, it may reduce the formation of free radical and improves the survival of flap. Thus, the present study purposed to examine whether the survival of flap can be enhanced by administering melatonin, which is known to be a powerful free radical scavenger a antioxidant molecule. Methods: We divided 40 Sprague-Dawley rats into 4 groups, 10 in each group. For the control group(n=10), we intraperitoneally injected only carrier solution once 30 minutes before the operation, and once a day for 7 days from the day of operation. Among the experimental groups, a group(n=10) was administered with dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO), in another group(n=10), melatonin was intraperitoneally injected, and in the other(n=10) melatonin was intraperitoneally injected and applied topically(2 cc of 1% melatonin) to the operation site. Caudally based skin flaps measuring $3{\times}10cm^2$ were elevated on the mid-dorsum of the rats. and then repositioned. On the seventh postoperative day, the survival area of the flap was measured and tissues were examined under the light microscope. Results: The control group, the DMSO group, the melatonin administration group and the melatonin administration and application group showed the mean survival rates of $55.26{\pm}9.2%$, $70.29{\pm}7.47%$, $81.45{\pm}4.14%$ and $86.1{\pm}1.52%$, respectively, for $30cm^2$ of flap. Compared to the control group, the experimental groups showed a significantly high increase in survival area at significance level of 95%. Conclusion: In this study, the survival rate of flap was enhanced through the administration of melatonin after flap surgery. This suggests that melatonin not only functions as a powerful free radical scavenger and oxygen radical scavenger but also stabilizes and protects cells, and by doing so, enhances the survival of moderately injured ischemic sites in the distal end of flap.

센서 네트워크를 위한 Radical line을 기반으로 한 센서 노드간의 Range-free 지역화 알고리즘 (Range-free localization algorithm between sensor nodes based on the Radical Line for Sensor Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 센서 네트워크를 위한 Radical line을 기반으로 한 센서 노드간의 Range-free 지역화 알고리즘에 대해 연구한다. 무선 센서 네트워크에서 라우팅 기법은 센서 네트워크의 전체적인 에너지 소모량을 감소시키거나 모든 센서 노드들의 균등한 에너지 소비를 유도해야 한다. 특히 데이터가 전송할 데이터의 양이 많아지면 에너지 소모가 심해지는데 이를 극복하기 위한 새로운 방식들이 제안되었다. 그 결과 전체적인 에너지 소모량을 균등하게 조절할 수 있게 되었다. 이를 위해 논문에서도 적은 연산으로 주변 노드의 위치정보를 획득할 수 있는 지역화 알고리즘을 설계한다. 알고리즘의 연산을 위해 Radical Line을 적용한다. 실험환경은 운영체제는 윈도우 7, 플랫폼은 Visual C++ 2010으로 실험하였다. 실험결과 0.1837의 에러율로 지역화를 수행할 수 있었다.

  • Recently, there has been increased incessantly an interest in research area on energy material for electronic and electric energy generation applications. The proposed material takes an unobtrusive operation into the simple displacing mechanism using chemical impact material. However, this material makes up a radical design, based on the operation of the stoichiometry ratio on the material architecture.

  • This experimental study was executed to obtain basic data for actual engine operation using radical induced ignition method (RI) which can achieve emission reduction and high efficiency due to the rapid bulk combustion. In this study, a direct injection diesel engine was converted into SI type engine with a sparkplug. The modified SI type engine can be divided into two classes. One is the SI engine with a sparkplug only at the cylinder head, and the other is the SI engine with the sparkplug which is enveloped in a sub-chamber. Also, a basic experimental was conducted in order to investigate combustion mechanism of radical induced injection before the experiment execution for actual engine using the modified SI engine. The bulk combustion phenomenon of radical induced ignition method was analyzed from the basic experiment by using a constant volume chamber. Volume value of sub-chamber used in this experiment is approximately $0.2\%$ of one of the main combustion chamber. In this paper, combustion characteristics using radical induced injection method was compared with that of using spark ignition method according to change in the engine speed and equivalence ratio. As a result, in the case of the radical induced injection engine, the combustion duration and cycle variation were respectively reduced ranged from $\Phi$(equivalence ratio)=0.8 (lean mixture ratio) to $\Phi$=1.0 (stoichiometric ratio).

Expression and Significance of TSGF, CEA and AFP in Patients Before and after Radical Surgery for Colon Cancer

  • Objective: To explore the expression and significance of tumor specific growth factor (TSGF), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and alpha fetoprotein (AFP) in cancer tissue and serum of patients with colon cancer. Materials and Methods: Radical surgery for colon cancer was performed on 43 patients with laparoscopu under conditions of general anesthesia. The Elisa method was used to detect the levels of serum TSGF, CEA and AFP before and after radical operation, and cancer tissue underwent TSGF, CEA and AFP immunohistochemistry staining after laparoscopic surgery. The decreased conditions of serum TSGF, CEA and AFP in patients with colon cancer at different levels of differentiation and clinical stagings were analyzed, and the relationships of expression rates between histological types, colon cancer morphology, lymph node metastasis and TSGF, CEA as well as AFP in cancer tissue were assessed. Results: Compared with before radical surgery, the levels of serum TSGF, CEA and AFP decreased notably in patients after operations (p<0.01). The decreased degree of TSGF and CEA was the largest in patients with poorly differentiated cancer tissue (p<0.01), while that of AFP was noted in patients with moderately differentiated cancer tissue (p<0.01). The decreased degree of TSGF and AFP was the largest in patients at phase Dukes A (p<0.01), while that of CEA in patients at phase Dukes C (p<0.01). There were no significant differences among the positive expression rates of TSGF, CEA and AFP with different histological types and colon cancer morphologies (p>0.05). The positive expression rates of TSGF and CEA in patients with lymph node metastasis were significantly higher than those without lymph node metastasis (p<0.01). Conclusions: TSGF, CEA and AFP can be used to evaluate the effect of radical operation for colon cancer, and the changed levels of different markers are associated with tumor differentiation, clinical stating and presence or absence of lymph node metastasis.

상악동 근치수술후의 상악골 후연의 변화에 대한 방사선학적 연구 (RADIOLOGIC STUDY ON THE POSTERIOR ASPECT OF THE MAXILLA FOLLOWING THE RADICAL OPERATION OF PARANASAL SINUSES.)

  • The Purpose of this study is to detect morphological changes of the maxilla following the operation of paranasal sinuses in the orthopantomogram. 1) The measurement of the angle set up by two reference lines which represent posterior aspect of the maxilla and skull base was made. 2) The mean angle in the post-operative patients showed significantly smaller than that in the normal subjects. 3) The forms of posterior aspect of maxilla were classified into 5 types. (flat, convex, concave, uneven and obliterated.) 4) In contrast with the convex type in the majority of normal subjects, approximately half of the post-operative patients showed the concave type. 5) These results may suggest that the superior part of the posterior aspect of the maxilla tend to depress following the operation of these paranasal sinuses.

UV/H$_2$O$_2$공정에 의한 Cefaclor 분해 특성에 관한 기초연구 (An Investigative Study on the Characterization of Cefaclor Decomposition in UV/H$_2$O$_2$ Process)

  • 수중에 존재할 수 있는 항생제물질 중 cefaclor를 제거하기 위하여 UV/H$_2$O$_2$ 공정을 적용하였다. 기존 회분식반응기의 경우 시료를 채취하면 시료가 감소하여 UV램프와 제거대상물질의 유효접촉면적이 감소하는 것을 보완하기 위해 외부에 혼합조를 설치하여 실험을 실시하였다. UV반응기 내부는 완전혼합을 위해 4개의 baffle을 설치하였으며 광자의 방출을 방지하기 위해 반응조 외부를 알루미늄 호일로 감쌌다. OH radical의 생성은 pCBA(p-Chlorobenzoic acid)를 이용하여 간접적으로 측정하였으며, 의사일차반응식(pseudo-frist order reaction)을 이용하여 반응속도상수를 구하였다. 본 연구의 최적 OH radical 생성조건은 pH 3, 과산화수소 주입량은 5 mmol/L 그리고 펌프순환유량은 400 mL/min로 나타났으며, 반응속도상수는 0.1051 min$^{-1}$이었다. 최적의 OH radical 생성조건에서 cefaclor는 40 min안에 완전히 제거되었으며 반응속도상수는 0.093 min$^{-1}$이었다. 초기 cefaclor의 농도가 낮을 수록 빠르게 제거되었으며, OH radical에 의해 분해되어 중간생성물질(intermediates)인 chloride(Cl$^-$), nitrate(NO$_3{^{2-}}$), sulfite(SO$_4{^{2-}}$) 그리고 acetic acid(CH$_3$COO$^-$) 등의 음이온과 phenylglycine을 생성하였다. 반응시간 6 hr 이후 TOC의 77% 감소, phenylglycine의 소멸 그리고 acetic acid가 감소하는 것으로 보아 cefaclor는 UV/H$_2$O$_2$ 공정에 의해 빠르게 분해될 뿐만 아니라 CO$_2$와 H$_2$O의 형태로 무해화(mineralization)되는 것으로 보인다.
