Signal individual reconnaissance and identification is an extremely important research topic in non-cooperative domains such as electronic countermeasures and intelligence reconnaissance. Facing the characteristics of the complexity and changeability of current communication environment, how to realize radiation source signal individual identification under the low SNR conditions is an emphasis of research. A novel emitter individual identification method combined bi-spectrum analysis with wavelet feature is presented in this paper. It makes a feature fusion of bi-spectrum slice characteristics and energy variance characteristics of the secondary wavelet transform coefficient to identify MFSK signals under the low SNR (signal-to-noise ratios) environment. Theoretical analyses and computer simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has good recognition performance with the ability to suppress noise and interference, and reaches the recognition rate of more than 90% when the SNR is -6dB.
Solar microwave bursts carry information about the magnetic field in the emitting region as well as about electrons accelerated during solar flares. While this sensitivity to the coronal magnetic field must be a unique advantage of solar microwave burst observations, it also adds a complexity to spectral analysis targeted to electron diagnostics. This paper introduces a new spectral analysis procedure in which the cross-section and thickness of a microwave source are expressed as power-law functions of the magnetic field so that the degree of magnetic inhomogeneity can systematically be derived. We applied this spectral analysis tool to two contrasting events observed by the Owens Valley Solar Array: the SOL2003-04-04T20:55 flare with a steep microwave spectrum and the SOL2003-10-19T16:50 flare with a broader spectrum. Our analysis shows that the strong flare with the broader microwave spectrum occurred in a region of highly inhomogeneous magnetic field and vice versa. We further demonstrate that such source properties are consistent with the magnetic field observations from the Michelson Doppler Imager instrument onboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft and the extreme ultraviolet imaging observations from the SOHO extreme ultraviolet imaging telescope. This spectral inversion tool is particularly useful for analyzing microwave flux spectra of strong flares from magnetically complex systems.
The cone beam computed tomography(CBCT) which can acquire 3-dimensions images is widely used for confirmation of patient position before radiation therapy. In this study, through the simulation using the Monte Carlo technique, we will analyze the exposure dose by cone beam computed tomography and present the standardized data. For the experiment, MCNPX(ver. 2.5.0) was used and the photon beam spectrum was analyzed after Cone beam was simulated. As a result of analyzing the photon beam spectrum, the average energy ranged from 25.7 to 37.6 keV at the tube voltage of 80 ~ 120 kVp and the characteristic X-ray energy was 9, 60, 68 and 70 keV. As a result of using the water phantom, the percentage depth dose was measured, and the maximum dose appeared on the surface and decreased with depth. The absorbed dose also decreased as the depth increased. The absorbed dose of the whole phantom was 9.7 ~ 18.7 mGy. This is a dose which accounts for 0.2% of about 10 Gy, which is generally used for radiation therapy per week, which is not expected to have a significant effect on the treatment effect. However, it should not be overlooked even if it is small compared with prescription dose.
A somewhat detailed energy spectra in terms of the track length resulting from coupled electron-photon slowing down are calculated throughout the ICRU standard tissue with uniformly distributed gamma sources of $^{60}Co\;and\;^{137}Cs$, respectively. The calculation was accomplished by utilizing the latest available cross-section data as input to a carefully optimized computer code. In this report, the calculational method is described in detail. Furthermore, results of calculations are given in graphical form. The results show that the energy spectrum defined in terms of differential track length has about same shape although the energies of gamma source are different. The discontinuity in the energy spectrum appears at the energy of $T=(1/T_0+2/m_0c^2)^{-1}$, because a primary photon can not be degrade to a point below this energy.
A suggestion has been made for neutron dosimetric techniques using activation and threshold detectors in criticality accidents. Neutron dosimetrical parameters, namely, the fission spectrum-averaged cross-sections of some threshold reactions and fluence-to-dose conversion factors have been calculated by the use of an electronic computer. It appears that detectors having comparatively high threshold energy give more fine information on spectral deformation in criticality accidents, while detectors with low threshold energy are of usefulness for measuring fast neutron fluence regardless of fissioning types. Unexpectedly it is found that the fission spectrum-averaged cross sections of the $^{32}S(n,\;p)^{32}P$ reaction is not sensitive to analytical forms of fission neutron spectrum: the modified Cran-berg and Maxwellian forms. In addition, the fluence-to-dose conversion factors seem to be insensitive to both spectral functions and fissioning types.
To develop a technique of theoretical alpha track density calculation for comparison with measured track density, an electrostatic ion spectrometer was specially designed and fabricated. The mobility spectrum of first radon daughter(Po-218) in the range of $0.07{\sim}5.0cm^2/V\;s$ from the radon chamber was measured using-the electrostatic ion spectrometer. Measurement was taken in a radon chamber operated using dry particle free air passed through silica gel, activated charcoal and molecular sieve filters. The mobility of a new-born Po-218 ion measured by the electrostatic ion spectrometer was determined to be $1.92cm^2/V\;s$. A comparison of the theoretical and measured alpha track densities was completed and uncertainties concerning the shape of the spectrum were analyzed. It was found that the discrepancies in track densities are primarily Que to the neglect of wall loss of ions in the theoretical track density calculation.
System performances in terms of image quality between an amorphous silicon DR system and a conventional film-screen system were evaluated. Various aspects of image quality MTF (modulation transfer function), NPS (noise power spectrum), SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) and contrast were measured and calculated. The MTF of the DR system was comparable to the film-screen systems. The noise was mainly dominated by the quantum mottle in both systems and the electronic noise was found in the DR system. The contrast of the DR system was better than the film-screen systems by virtue of high sensitivity and image processing. Compared to the film-screen systems in general radiography, the DR system had similar resolution and showed better contrast with the same exposure condition after contrast manipulation. The results of this study provide some useful information about the performance of the DR system in connection with medical applications.
In Kang (2015) we calculated the acceleration of cosmic-ray electrons at weak spherical shocks that are expected to form in the cluster outskirts, and estimated the diffuse synchrotron radiation emitted by those electrons. There we demonstrated that, at decelerating spherical shocks, the volume integrated spectra of both electrons and radiation deviate significantly from the test-particle power-laws predicted for constant planar shocks, because the shock compression ratio and the flux of inject electrons decrease in time. In this study, we consider spherical blast waves propagating through a constant density core surrounded by an isothermal halo with ρ ∝ r−n in order to explore how the deceleration of the shock affects the radio emission from accelerated electrons. The surface brightness profile and the volumeintegrated radio spectrum of the model shocks are calculated by assuming a ribbon-like shock surface on a spherical shell and the associated downstream region of relativistic electrons. If the postshock magnetic field strength is about 0.7 or 7 µG, at the shock age of ∼ 50 Myr, the volume-integrated radio spectrum steepens gradually with the spectral index from αinj to αinj + 0.5 over 0.1–10 GHz, where αinj is the injection index at the shock position expected from the diffusive shock acceleration theory. Such gradual steepening could explain the curved radio spectrum of the radio relic in cluster A2266, which was interpreted as a broken power-law by Trasatti et al. (2015), if the relic shock is young enough so that the break frequency is around 1 GHz.

A sensitivity analysis of the methods used to evaluate the transport properties of a CdZnTe detector was performed using two different radiations (${\alpha}$ particle and gamma-ray) emitted from an $^{241}Am$ source. The mobility-lifetime products of the electron-hole pair in a planar CZT detector ($5{\times}5{\times}2\;mm^3$) were determined by fitting the peak position as a function of biased voltage data to the Hecht equation. To verify the accuracy of these products derived from ${\alpha}$ particles and low-energy gamma-rays, an energy spectrum considering the transport property of the CZT detector was simulated through a combination of the deposited energy and the charge collection efficiency at a specific position. It was found that the shaping time of the amplifier module significantly affects the determination of the (${\mu}{\tau}$) products; the ${\alpha}$ particle method was stabilized with an increase in the shaping time and was less sensitive to this change compared to when the gamma-ray method was used. In the case of the simulated energy spectrum with transport properties evaluated by the ${\alpha}$ particle method, the peak position and tail were slightly different from the measured result, whereas the energy spectrum derived from the low-energy gamma-ray was in good agreement with the experimental results. From these results, it was confirmed that low-energy gamma-rays are more useful when seeking to obtain the transport properties of carriers than ${\alpha}$ particles because the methods that use gamma-rays are less influenced by the surface condition of the CZT detector. Furthermore, the analysis system employed in this study, which was configured by a combination of Monte Carlo simulation and the Hecht model, is expected to be highly applicable to the study of the characteristics of CZT detectors.
Reliability of printed circuit board (PCB), which is based on high integrated circuit technology, is having been important because of development of electric and self-driving car. In order to answer these demand, automated X-ray inspection (AXI) is best solution for PCB non-destructive test. PCB is consist of plastic, copper, and, lead, which have low to high Z-number materials. By using dual energy X-ray imaging, these materials can be inspected accurately and efficiently. Dual energy X-ray imaging, that have the advantage of separating materials, however, need some solution such as energy separation method and enhancing efficiency because PCB has materials that has wide range of Z-number. In this work, we found out several things by analysis of X-ray energy spectrum. Separating between lead and combination of plastic and copper is only possible with energy range not dose. On the other hand, separating between plastic and copper is only with dose not energy range. Moreover the copper filter of high energy part of dual X-ray imaging and 50 kVp of low energy part of dual X-ray imaging is best for efficiency.
