  • Antarctica isimportant area in order to understand climate change. In addition, this area is complex region where indicate warming and cooling trend according to previous studies. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the long-term variability of Antarctic energy budget. Net radiation, one of energy budget factor, is affected by albedo, and albedo cause negative radiative forcing. It is necessary to analyze a relationship between albedo and net radiation in order to analyze relationship between two factors in Antarctic climate changes and ice-albedo feedback. In thisstudy, we calculated net radiation using satellite data and performed an analysis of long-term variability of net radiation over Antarctica. In addition we analyzed correlation between albedo. As a results, net radiation indicates a negative value in land and positive value in ocean during study periods. As an annual changes, oceanic trend indicates an opposed to albedo. Time series pattern of net radiation is symmetrical with albedo. Correlation between the two factors indicate a negative correlation of -0.73 in the land and -0.32 in the ocean.

  • This study was designed to identify the knowledge, perception, self-efficacy, and performance on radiation protection among perioperative workers in terms of radiation protection. The factors affecting the performance of radiation protection were identified, and provide basic data for the development of an effective radiation protection education program. The sample was comprised of 166 perioperative workers who agreed to participate in this descriptive study. Data analysis was performed using the t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analyses on the SPSS 23.0 Program. The average time of radiation exposure was 3-4hoursThe radiation protection education experience was 11.4%. The average score of radiation protection knowledge was $8.61{\pm}2.51$; the perception was $4.59{\pm}0.64$; and the performance was $2.99{\pm}0.90$ There was a significant difference in the degree of radiation defense knowledge and performance among the general characteristics (p <001). Knowledge of radiation protection was correlated with the perception. The performance of radiation protection was correlated with the knowledge. The knowledge and perception of radiation protection behaviors should be increased to improve radiation protection performance. Therefore, it is important to promote the performance of radiation protection behaviors by improving the perioperative workers' knowledge of radiation protection through reinforcing radiation-related education.

  • Global solar radiation was calculated in this research using ground-base measurement data, meteorological satellite data, and GWNU (Gangneung-Wonju National University) solar radiation model. We also analyzed the accuracy of the GWNU model by comparing the observed solar radiation according to the total cloud cover. Our research was based on the global solar radiation of the GWNU radiation site in 2012, observation data such as temperature and pressure, humidity, aerosol, total ozone amount data from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) sensor, and Skyview data used for evaluation of cloud mask and total cloud cover. On a clear day when the total cloud cover was 0 tenth, the calculated global solar radiations using the GWNU model had a high correlation coefficient of 0.98 compared with the observed solar radiation, but root mean square error (RMSE) was relatively high, i.e., $36.62Wm^{-2}$. The Skyview equipment was unable to determine the meteorological condition such as thin clouds, mist, and haze. On a cloudy day, regression equations were used for the radiation model to correct the effect of clouds. The correlation coefficient was 0.92, but the RMSE was high, i.e., $99.50Wm^{-2}$. For more accurate analysis, additional analysis of various elements including shielding of the direct radiation component and cloud optical thickness is required. The results of this study can be useful in the area where the global solar radiation is not observed by calculating the global solar radiation per minute or time.

  • Purpose: To determine whether large rectal volume on planning computed tomography (CT) results in lower tumor regression grade (TRG) after neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in rectal cancer patients. Materials and Methods: We reviewed medical records of 113 patients treated with surgery following neoadjuvant CCRT for rectal cancer between January and December 2012. Rectal volume was contoured on axial images in which gross tumor volume was included. Average axial rectal area (ARA) was defined as rectal volume divided by longitudinal tumor length. The impact of rectal volume and ARA on TRG was assessed. Results: Average rectal volume and ARA were 11.3 mL and $2.9cm^2$. After completion of neoadjuvant CCRT in 113 patients, pathologic results revealed total regression (TRG 4) in 28 patients (25%), good regression (TRG 3) in 25 patients (22%), moderate regression (TRG 2) in 34 patients (30%), minor regression (TRG 1) in 24 patients (21%), and no regression (TRG0) in 2 patients (2%). No difference of rectal volume and ARA was found between each TRG groups. Linear correlation existed between rectal volume and TRG (p = 0.036) but not between ARA and TRG (p = 0.058). Conclusion: Rectal volume on planning CT has no significance on TRG in patients receiving neoadjuvant CCRT for rectal cancer. These results indicate that maintaining minimal rectal volume before each treatment may not be necessary.

  • It is usual for the officially land price of agricultural field parcels to be determined by real estate appraisers's experienced knowledge and intuition without considering quantitatively physical factors that directly influence agricultural productivity. Solar radiation is the most important predictor of agricultural productivity. GIS based simulation techniques were used to evaluate correlation between the officially land price and solar radiation for agricultural field parcels. The results show that officially land price shows random distribution patterns in relation to solar radiation, which proves that officially land price for agricultural field does not reflect agricultural productivity. It is anticipated that this research output could be used as a valuable reference to support more scientific and objective decision-making in the official pricing process of agricultural field parcels.

  • Simple correlation analysis, factor analysis, and multi-verite analysis have been performed to analyze the relationship between air pollution and meteorological factors for air pollution and meteorological data measured at Kwanghwamun in Seoul during the period of one year (January 1990" December 1990). As a result of simple correlation and factor analysis, $SO_2$, TSP and CO concentrations have shown high negative correlation with temperature and among these indicating that these are related with pollutants emission trend based upon heating fuel usage. Ozone has a good correlation with solar radiation and relative humidity to have a closed relation with $0_3$ generation reaction mechanism. The result of multi-variate correlation analysis shows that the concentration of $SO_2$ and CO are adequate for correlation model with ambient temperature and wind speed and 0$_{3}$ concentrations are adequate for that with solar radiation and wind speed. $SO_2$ and CO levels are considered to be affected first of all by heating fuel usage as a emission source and wind speed as a dispersion effect. The $SO_2$ concentration in the condition that the temperature fall below zero is explained by multiplicative model with wind speed, only one variable.

  • To detect the insulator in the fault state on the electric poles, we first measured radiation sounds from normal state insulators and error state insulators in the anechoic chamber. We processed the signals in frequency domain to find the features with filter bank, narrow band and wide band analysis. So we could found two apparent results from their frequency spectrums - one was 120Hz harmonic components, the other was high average noise level than normal state ones. Then we also introduced a technique for the direction detection of the fault state insulator using the cross correlation from the three dimensional array microphones. To eliminate the noise signal from unexpected directions, we suggested the zero padding technique in cross correlation function. From these, we could conclude that acoustic fault detection techniques are useful of the detection of insulators' faults and the estimation of the direction of the fault state insulators.

  • A worst-case estimate of an envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) is obtained for small multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mobile antennas operating below 1 GHz. The worst-case estimate is numerically derived in this paper using spherical and exponential wave functions. The derived result confirms that the worst-case ECC can be easily obtained from the rotation angle between the radiation patterns of two MIMO elements, which are attained directly from the amplitude of 2D electric field patterns without any additional phase and polarization information. As a practical example, MIMO mobile antennas with different antenna element arrangements are compared to verify the validity of the proposed worst-case estimate. Moreover, based on these analyses, we also suggest an effective approach to reduce the ECC of a small MIMO mobile antenna operating below 1 GHz by properly locating the antenna elements to make the radiation patterns perpendicular to each other.

  • The purpose in this study is to investigate CT number difference between conventional CT and CT simulator. It shows good correlation in CT number on the muscle, bone, and air. However, in the liver, lungs and water, the low correlation was detected. This result can become the good index for the direction of the distribution of dose difference research between CT equipment for using the computerized radiation therapy planning system.
