This paper uses a glass dosimeter to evaluate the lens-absorbed dose of scattered radiation generated in tomotherapy intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). The head and neck portion of the rando phantom was subjected to a CT scan. The tomotherapy plan was designed to ensure delivery of the prescribed total 70 Gy day 2.2 Gy. With the lens portion of the glass dosimeter, a 5mm bolus was subjected to the scattered radiation treatment, and the dose was measured in each of the three megavoltage CT (MVCT) modes. The result is multiplied by 30 times and was determined once as the mean value. The measurement at the MVCT Coarse mode is RT mode 10.797 mGy, that for the Normal mode is 13.360 mGy, for the Fine mode is a maximum of 22.872 mGy, and for the treatment mode is 895.830 mGy. A small amount of scattered radiation in the MVCT is measured in the lens scattered radiation, but scattered radiation during treatment was measured to be near 1 Gy on the lens. Compared to a one-time radiation treatment of 2.2 Gy, the survey showed something unexpected in that it was half the value of that research to the patient. Therefore, will be aware of how much of an influence there will be on sensitive organs, such as the lens by scattered radiation generated during intensity modulated radiation therapy.
During radiation therapy, the patient is exposed to secondary radiation by scattered and leakage radiation. For the diagnostic radiation, guidelines for reducing the patient's exposure as the diagnostic reference level are provided. However, in the case of therapeutic radiation, even though the radiation dose by the secondary radiation is considerable, the prescription dose is not limited because of the reason of the therapeutic efficiency. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the secondary radiation that the patient could be received at the peripheral tissue during the radiotherapy using the linear accelerator with the radiophotoluminescent glass dosimeter. In addition, we measured the degree of saturation of the luminescent amount according to the build-up characteristic of the radiophotoluminescent glass dosimeter. As a result of carrying out this study, the exposure dose decreased drastically farther away from the treatment field. When the head was irradiated with 1 Gy, the neck could be exposed to 18.45 mGy. When the same dose was irradiated at the neck, 15.55 mGy of the head and irradiated at the chest, 14.26 mGy of the neck and irradiated at the pelvis, 1.14 mGy of the chest were exposed separately. The degree of saturation of the luminescent intensity could be overestimated by 1.8 ~ 4.8% depending on time interval for 3 days.
Purpose: The objective of this study is to perform Postal dosimetry audits for medical linear accelerators in radiation therapy institutions using glass dosimeters and Gafchromic film reading systems and postal dosimetry audit procedures, and to evaluate radiation therapy doses and mechanical accuracy in medical institutions. Methods: Photon output measured and analyzed using a standard phantom for measuring photon output dose using a glass dosimeter for medical linear accelerators. Mechanical accuracy was measured and analyzed using software for film measurement. Results: Measurement and analysis of photon beam output dose using a standard phantom glass dosimeter for photon beam output dose measurement was completed. All tolerance doses were within 5%. Mechanical accuracy measurement and analysis using a standard phantom for verifying the mechanical accuracy of linear accelerator (LINAC) using a Gafchromic film were completed, and all results were shown within tolerances (2 mm or less). Conclusions: In this study, Postal dosimetry audits were performed on the output dose and mechanical accuracy of photon beams (207 beams) for 106 LINACs from 48 institutions. As a result of corrective action and re-execution, it was confirmed that all engines met the acceptable standard within 2 mm in the linear accelerator.

This study is to calculate the exposed radiation dose using Bit method, NDD calculation method and monogram method without dosimeter. In addition, we can calculate the radiation dose from x-ray film density as a film badge. The authors examined the entrance skin dose from $2{\sim}3$ intercostal chest x-ray film density. We also studied the relationship between film density and equivalent dose in the each screen film system under the different radiation quality and the poor geometry condition of grid ratio. As results, we established the deductive method to define the entrance skindose from chest x-ray film density. The error range was found in the range $-13%{\sim}+l7%$ for between deductive entrance skindose and the $2{\sim}3$ intercostal chest x-ray film density to actual detective radiation dose with dosimeter.

This study examined the possibility of using striped field mice as a biological dosimeter or indicator for the environmental radio-surveillance. For this study, the external morphological characteristics and isoenzymic types of dark-striped field mice were studied after they were captured. Among the morphological external characteristics, the dark-brown coat, dark back stripe, head-to-tail length, tail length, and ear length matched the taxonomical characteristics of dark-striped field mice. The analyses on L-lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase, and malate dehydrogenese revealed that one species of dark-striped field mice, called Apodemus agrarius, was inhabitated throughout a wide range of Korea. On the other hand, A. agrarius and ICR mice to analyze their survival rate and frequency of micronuclei in peripheral polychromatic erythrocytes after irradiation (0, 0.5, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 Gy). The $LD_{50/30}$ of A. agrarius and ICR mice were approximately 5 Gy and 7Gy, respectively. The results of the study reveal that wild A. agrarius have a high potential as a biological monitoring system to determine the impact of radiation effect in areas such as those within the vicinity of nuclear power plants.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cancer incidence rate and provide basic data by measuring the photoneutron dose generated during intensity-modulated radiation therapy and volumetric modulated arc therapy used in radiation therapy for prostate cancer. The optically stimulated luminescence albedo neutron dosimeter for neutron measurement was placed on the Rando phantom in the abdomen and thyroid and photoneutron dose generated was measured. As a result of the study, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (7 portal) was measured to be higher than volumetric rotational radiation therapy in both abdominal and thyroid locations. When the cancer incidence rate was evaluated using the nominal risk coefficient of ICRP 103, the cancer incidence rate due to exposure to the colon and thyroid during intensity-modulated radiation therapy was 9.9 per 1,000 people, and volumetric rotational radiation therapy for 1,000 people. It was 3.5 per person. Based on the principle of ALARA (As low as reasonably archievable), it is considered to be a guideline for minimizing the exposure dose to normal organs in the establishment of a radiation treatment plan.
Maintenance on the water chamber of steam generator, the change of pressurizer heater, the removal of pressure tube feeder, and so on during outage in nuclear power plants (NPPs) has a likelihood of high radiation exposure to whole body of workers even short time period due to the high radiation exposure rates. In particular, it is expected that hands would receive the highest radiation exposure because of its contact with radiation materials. In this study, field tests on extremity dose assessment of radiation workers for contact works with high radiation exposure were conducted during the maintenance periods in Korean pressurized water reactors (PWRs) and pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWRs). In this field test, radiation workers were required to wear additional TLDs on the back and wrist, and an extremity dosimeter on fingers including a main TLD on the chest, while performing maintenance. As a result, it was found that the equivalent dose for fingers was distributed in the fixed range of deep dose and the equivalent dose for wrists.

This study proposes the algorithm which drives the powerless without battery. The exiting wire or RF type dosimeter, which is the computation of the real time with battery on the dose radiation exposure, In the Wired dosimeter, it is trouble to need the maintenance and management by periods. Besides, the case of the RF typed dosimeter with battery, it is requested to size bigger and to replace battery frequently and so on. Especially RF typed dosimeter has trouble to need for the embody with large power consumption on the contactless typed dosimeter. As the method for the low power, the study designed to be down the operating clock of the MPC, to improve the efficiency of the rectifier, to eliminate the external memory and the DC-DC converter for the simplification of the circuit We convince our research contributes not only to understand the simplified circuit and miniaturization, but also to help the design and application technology of the powerless dosimeter.
