For the analysis of radiating noise problems in medium-to-high frequency ranges, the Energy Flow Boundary Element Method (EFBEM) was developed. EFBEM is the analysis technique that applies the Boundary Element Method (BEM) to Energy Flow Analysis (EFA). The fundamental solutions representing spherical wave property for radiating noise problems in open field and considering the free surface effect in underwater are developed. Also the directivity factor is developed to express wave's directivity patterns in medium-to-high frequency ranges. Indirect EFBEM by using fundamental solutions and fictitious source was applied to open field and underwater noise problems successfully. Through numerical applications, the acoustic energy density distributions due to vibration of a simple plate model and a sphere model were compared with those of commercial code, and the comparison showed good agreement in the level and pattern of the energy density distributions.

A radiating elements fault diagnosis method with simplified radiation pattern measurement procedure was presented for planar active phased array antenna system. For presenting the mentioned method, the technique for linear approximation based on the radiation characteristics of a planar array configuration and a technique for solving a unique solution problem that occur in process of diagnosing a fault in a radiating elements were presented. Based on the presented method and a genetic algorithm, experimental simulations were performed for radiating element defect diagnosis according to various planar active phased array antenna configurations. As a result, it was confirmed that the presented radiating element fault diagnosis method can be smoothly applied to planar active phased antennas having various configurations.

This study manufactured the radiating element of multi-band antenna skin structure which satisfy electrical and mechanical performance and is made by double injection molding process. Structural test including impact and buckling test is carried out and stress analysis is simulated to evaluate safety of radiating element for the axial and shear loads, when changing of the skin structure is occurred by the external force. To predict allowable load of structure and evaluate safety on impact and buckling, experimental and analytic method is used in strength analysis of structure.

The active phased array antenna system performs beam steering, multi-beam formation and adaptive beam forming by controlling the amplitude and phase of signals fed to each radiating element. In order to obtain the desired radiation characteristics using an active phased array antenna system, the accurate amplitude and phase of the signal must be fed to each radiating element; however, due to various causes, the signal errors occurs in each radiating element. In this paper, a signal error estimation method of each radiating element is proposed. The proposed method simplifies the process of signal error estimation, and can quickly and accurately calculate the signal error.

The blower which is installed in a FCEV(fuel cell electric vehicle) may cause noise due to misalignment and unbalance of mechanical components that rotate at high speed. One of the key points in efforts to minimize the noise radiation from a blower is the knowledge of the main radiating component and the relation between the surface vibration of a blower and the sound pressure. In this research, the blower model is developed based on FEM(finite element method). FE(finite element) model is reliable by correlation of frequencies and MAC(modal assurance criterion) values between EMA(experimental modal analysis) and FEA(finite element analysis). This model is applied to predict the vibration of a blower by using inverse force identification method and predict the radiating noise by using BEM(boundary element method). Comparing the frequencies of resonance and those mode shapes between EMA and FEA, a structural modification of the FE model is evaluated for reducing the parameters of the blower noise.

In this letter, the null steering of a circular array is presented using a modified array factor (AF) for a global positioning system (GPS) anti-jam. The seven radiating elements were designed using a mu-zero resonance (MZR) circularly polarized (CP) antenna arranged toward the center. Since the radiating elements, which are arranged toward the center, have a CP characteristic, the AF of the seven radiating elements has to be modified considering the rotation angle of the nth radiating element. The phases of input ports can be calculated to implement a nulling of radiation patterns where the modified AF is zero. To verify the modified AF for null steering in the desired direction, two cases of power dividers operating in $L_2$ band (1.2276 GHz) were fabricated to achieve pattern nulling at a certain angle. The modified AF can be confirmed by a comparing the simulated and measured radiation patterns.

In this paper, a integrated structure of a two-element microstrip patch antenna with two feeds for GPS/PCS dual-band operation is proposed. The radiating element for PCS operation is a novel broad band low-profile cylindrical monopole top-loaded with a shorted meander patch, which gives linearly polarized conical radiation pattern and size reduction of patch due to meander line. The radiating element for GPS operation is a novel square-ring microstrip patch with truncated corners and slits. which provide circularly polarized broadside radiation patterns and size reduction due to slots. using dielectric substrate in GPS antenna of proposed antenna provide to improve isolation between two feeds and reduce size of patch. The proposed antenna achieves the bandwidth and polarization requirements of GPS and PCS systems.
In this paper, the interference in small MIMO antennas having two identical composite right- and left-handed transmission-line(CRLH-TL)-based radiating elements is remarkably decreased. The radiating element has the broadside-capacitive coupling as well as slots to be equivalent to the CRLH-TL to prevent the size from increasing for an LTE high band. The suspended line bridging the two radiating elements is optimized to lower the interference between them down to -23 dB, while the overall MIMO antenna system is compact and its antenna performance is acceptable. The design is tested for 2.5 GHz.

This paper proposes a new diversity antenna which is the base of MIMO, tunable and reconfigurable antennas. The antenna has a small size and high inter-antenna isolation resulting from the compact radiating element comprising a meandered line and an open-loop combined in one limited uniplanar space and a modified T-shaped decoupling structure, respectively. In a WiMAX band, the radiating element and the entire antenna are $0.092{\lambda}$ and $0.2216{\lambda}$ in size, which shows effective size-reduction and the gain and efficiency of the proposed antenna attached to the ground of a handheld device are 3.7dBi and 56% acceptable to the industrial standard.

In this paper, the design, fabrication and experiment on a planar array antenna with a flat-topped radiation pattern for a mobile base station antenna were described. The current distribution of an antenna aperture, which is easily realizable in a feeding network compared with the conventional one of sin(x)/x was optimized for shaping a desired flat-topped radiation pattern. The planar array antenna designed in this paper has a rectangular lattice and is composed of array elements of 16${\times}$8. Each radiating element, which is a microstrip element fed coaxially, has a linear vertical polarization and the feed network which use a Wilkinson power divider and a 180$^{\circ}$ ring hybrid coupler as a base element is designed. The flat-topped radiation pattern with 90$^{\circ}$ is shaped by 16 array elements with the element spacing of 0.55 λ$_{ο}$ in the azimuth plane, and the normal radiation pattern with 10$^{\circ}$ is shaped by 8 array elements with the element spacing of 0.65 λ$_{ο}$ in the elevation plane. Also, the planar array antenna is symmetrically divided into four parts. It consists of one hundred-twenty-eight radiating elements, thirty-two 1-4 column dividers, low 1-8 row dividers and one 1-4 input power divider. In order to verify electrical performances of the planar way antenna proposed in this paper, the experimental breadboard operated in tile band of 1.92~2.17 GHz(IMT2000 band) was fabricated, and its experimental results were a good agreement with simulation ones.
