In this paper, we propose a direct sequence ultra wideband (DS-UWB) radar system based on correlation accumulation in the fields of the ship traffic control and the safe ship operation including docking guidance systems. The proposed DS-UWB radar system averages out the noise by accumulating correlator outputs, and thus, provides a reliable distance estimation performance with a shorter estimation time compared with conventional DS-UWB radar systems. From numerical results, it is confirmed that the proposed DS-UWB radar system has not only a shorter average correlation processing time, but also a better distance estimation performance.

In this paper, we design and fabricate a short range FMCW radar which detects and tracks a moving target in a two-dimensional domain using dual transceiver modules. For the short range radar, we propose a scheme for alternate extraction of the two-dimensional positions using one-dimensional range information from time division transceiver modules, and successfully apply the scheme to the two-dimensional short range radar. Measured results of the targets at 10 m and 30 m are presented as performance demonstration of each transceiver module. Also the performance of the two-dimensional radar is demonstrated using a two-dimensional target map, which uses the range bin corresponding to the frequency resolution, and the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is validated.

Ultra-wideband(UWB) is a technology that can transmit and receive signals at high speeds using a very short signal of wideband of several GHz, and has been recently used in the field of radar technology. Impulse radio(IR)-UWB radar is used in the field of motion recognition with high resolution. In this work, we studied motion recognition using IR-UWB radar. We constructed a development environment to acquire data about motion and implemented a signal processing algorithm for performance enhancement. Based on the signal processing result, the performance was verified through feature extraction and learning of motion.

This study describes the design and implementation of a simulated signal generator to demonstrate the performance of VHF band radar for the detection of small targets in RCS(Radar Cross Section). The transmission and reception antenna beam widths used in the simulated signal generating apparatus may be large, which may cause problems in the degree of isolation. Interference signal immunity and isolation characteristics are improved by considering operating conditions of VHF radar to solve isolation of antennas. Simulated signal generator performs the following: VHF radar transmission and reception correction, simulation signal generation, target Doppler, RCS and distance simulation, remote control, and GPS clock synchronization function. After the fabrication of the simulated signal generator, the main characteristics, such as the output characteristics and the reflection signal simulations, were tested. When the microwave radar assembly is completed in the future, it will be utilized for the performance evaluation of VHF radar.

According to advance of radar technology and increase of air threat, 3D surveillance radars are preferred as shipboard equipments to shorten reaction time. In this paper, reaction time against air target was calculated by simulation in each case, 2D and 3D surveillance radar and it was suggested that a few parameters including purpose of warships, performance of shipboard equipments, threat of surrounding countries and budget to select the reasonable type of radar.

Parameter optimization technique is applied to planning UAVs(Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) path under artificial enemy radar threats. The ground enemy radar threats are characterized in terms of RCS(Radar Cross Section) parameter which is a measure of exposure to the radar threats. Mathematical model of the RCS parameter is constructed by a simple mathematical function in the three-dimensional space. The RCS model is directly linked to the UAVs attitude angles in generating a desired trajectory by reducing the RCS parameter. The RCS parameter is explicitly included in a performance index for optimization. The resultant UAVs trajectory satisfies geometrical boundary conditions while minimizing a weighted combination of the flight time and the measure of ground radar threat expressed in RCS.

A new adaptive filter is proposed for an aided strapdown inertial navigation system(SDINS). The proposed filter can be used to effectively estimate the time-varying variance of the measurement noise. Then, the in-flight alignment for the radar aided SDINS is designed using the additive quatermion error model. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive filter effectively improves the performance of the radar aided SDINS.
In this paper, FMCW radar signal processing technique for the vehicle detection system are studied. And FMCW radar sensor is used as a equipment for vehicle detection. To test the performance of developed algorithm, the evaluation of the algorithm is done by simulation for signal processing technique of vehicle detection system. RADAR signal of a driving vehicle is generated by using the Matlab. Distance and velocity of vehicles are calculated with developed a1gorithm. Also the signal processing procedure is done for the virtual data with FM-AM converted noise.

In this paper, we analysed a performance signal to noise ratio about pulse, integration coherent, and integration non coherent system in radar system. It compared existing with proposal method in order to estimation two target direction of arrival. Generally, radar system radiate pulse wave in order to decreasing distortion of return wave and transmission wave. We analysed the performance integration coherent and integration non coherent. Integration coherent is processing system before doing envelop detection, and integration non coherent is processing system after doing envelop detection. Through simulation, we analysed a performance signal to noise ratio to estimation two target range detection and estimated target direction of arrival. We showed that integration coherent system is the most good performance.

We propose vehicular spread spectrum (SS) radar robust to mutual interference using zero correlation zone (ZCZ) code. SS radar schemes have been employed for vehicular radar systems due to their outstanding correlation property. However, this superiority is based on a premise that timing among codes is completely synchronized. In the practical driving environment, timing mismatch among radar signals is inevitable because the radar signals of several vehicles are independently transmitted at each different location and each timing and thus each radar signal is received at different timing. This timing offset is the main cause of orthogonality destruction among codes and thus radar signals from other vehicles become mutual interference. In order to solve this problem, we find out the new property of ZCZ code which maintains the complete orthogonality except to timing offset corresponding to chips (pulses) of multiple of 4 and employ ZCZ code to SS radar systems. Simulation results show the proposed scheme achieve better performance compared with the conventional SS radar scheme using pseudo code or gold code.
