  • In this study, considerations for establishing RVSM airspace and requirements for RVSM operating aircraft are verified. The purpose of RVSM is to reduce vertical separation minimum for aircraft which operate between FL290~FL410 inclusive in regional airspace, and to increase airspace capacity by providing additional flight levels. To introduce RVSM, it is necessary to estimate quantatively airborne collision risk due to the reduction in vertical separation minimum. Aircraft operating through RVSM airspace is required to verify that height keeping performance is above specific standards.

  • The purpose of RVSM is to reduce vertical separation minima for aircrafts which operate between FL290- FL410 inclusive in regional airspace, and to increase airspace capacity by providing additional flight levels. In order to introduce RVSM, it is necessary to estimate quantitatively airborne collision risk due to the reduction in vertical separation minimum. In this study, the basic concept of RVSM safety assessment and Reich collision risk model are introduced and mid-air collision risk in Incheon FIR is estimated based on ICAO RVSM safety assessment technique and Reich Model.

  • The Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM), which is the reduced minimum from 2,000 ft to 1,000 ft at flight levels (FL) between 290 and FL410 inclusive, was implemented in 30 September 2005 within the Japanese domestic airspace. Prior to the implementation, safety assessment for the airspace in assumed RVSM environments was carried out. Some model parameter values of collision risk model were estimated using flight plan (progress) data and radar data. An estimate of vertical collision risk including operational risk was calculated using these together with given parameter values. The results obtained from this analysis are as follows. (1) Contribution of the vertical collision risk for the crossing routes is about 9 percents of the total technical risk. (2) The estimate of the collision risk is $4.1{\times}10^{-9}$ [fatal accidents / flight hour] and the value is smaller than a maximum allowable level of collision risk, i.e. $5{\times}10^{-9}$ [fatal accidents / flight hour], called the Target Level of Safety.

  • This study was conducted to present the adaquate guidelines necessary in decision making processes regarding air traffic management as well as airspace management in the national airspace system. It encompasses the overall advanced air traffic management initiatives, domestic air traffic congestion and resolution method as well.

  • The relationship between the behaviors of c.c.lipase back-extraction and their percolation phenomena by using AOT reverse micellar systems (RVMS) has been studied by the addition of a small amount of additives to organic phase such as thiols and nonionic-surfactants focusing on micelle-micelle interactions. The values of ${\beta}_t$ defined by the variation of percolation processes and back-extraction behaviors of c.c.lipase have a good linear correlation. The hydrophobicity of additive molecules suppressing the cluster formation of reverse micelles (high values of ${\beta}_t$) improved the back-extraction behavior of c.c.lipase. The back-extraction fraction and its rate of c.c.clipase are increased with decreasing of the value of hydrophilic lipophilic balance (HLB) and increasing of the hydrophobicity per additive molecules added to reverse micellar systems (RVSM) in the same additives concentration.
