In this paper, in order to obtain the optimization of the RNN model used for sentiment analysis, the correlation of each model was studied by observing the trend of loss and accuracy according to hyperparameter tuning. As a research method, after configuring the hidden layer with LSTM and the embedding layer that are most optimized to process sequential data, the loss and accuracy of each model were measured by tuning the unit, batch-size, and embedding size of the LSTM. As a result of the measurement, the loss was 41.9% and the accuracy was 11.4%, and the trend of the optimization model showed a consistently stable graph, confirming that the tuning of the hyperparameter had a profound effect on the model. In addition, it was confirmed that the decision of the embedding size among the three hyperparameters had the greatest influence on the model. In the future, this research will be continued, and research on an algorithm that allows the model to directly find the optimal hyperparameter will continue.

With the rapid development of SW Industry, softwares are everywhere in our daily life. The number of vulnerabilities are also increasing with a large amount of newly developed code. Vulnerabilities can be exploited by hackers, resulting the disclosure of privacy and threats to the safety of property and life. In particular, since the large numbers of increasing code, manually analyzed by expert is not enough anymore. Machine learning has shown high performance in object identification or classification task. Vulnerability detection is also suitable for machine learning, as a reuslt, many studies tried to use RNN-based model to detect vulnerability. However, the RNN model is also has limitation that as the code is longer, the earlier can not be learned well. In this paper, we proposed a novel method which applied BERT to detect vulnerability. The accuracy was 97.5%, which increased by 1.5%, and the efficiency also increased by 69% than Vuldeepecker.
Sound Event Detection (SED) aims to identify not only sound category but also time interval for target sounds in an audio waveform. It is a critical technique in field of acoustic surveillance system and monitoring system. Recently, various models have introduced through Detection and Classification of Acoustic Scenes and Events (DCASE) Task 4. This paper explored how to design optimal parameters of DenseNet based model, which has led to outstanding performance in other recognition system. In experiment, DenseRNN as an SED model consists of DensNet-BC and bi-directional Gated Recurrent Units (GRU). This model is trained with Mean teacher model. With an event-based f-score, evaluation is performed depending on parameters, related to model architecture as well as model training, under the assessment protocol of DCASE task4. Experimental result shows that the performance goes up and has been saturated to near the best. Also, DenseRNN would be trained more effectively without dropout technique.

The person Re-identification is the most challenging part of computer vision due to the significant changes in human pose and background clutter with occlusions. The picture from non-overlapping cameras enhance the difficulty to distinguish some person from the other. To reach a better performance match, most methods use feature selection and distance metrics separately to get discriminative representations and proper distance to describe the similarity between person and kind of ignoring some significant features. This situation has encouraged us to consider a novel method to deal with this problem. In this paper, we proposed an enhanced recurrent neural network with three-tier hierarchical network for person re-identification. Specifically, the proposed recurrent neural network (RNN) model contain an iterative expectation maximum (EM) algorithm and three-tier Hierarchical network to jointly learn both the discriminative features and metrics distance. The iterative EM algorithm can fully use of the feature extraction ability of convolutional neural network (CNN) which is in series before the RNN. By unsupervised learning, the EM framework can change the labels of the patches and train larger datasets. Through the three-tier hierarchical network, the convolutional neural network, recurrent network and pooling layer can jointly be a feature extractor to better train the network. The experimental result shows that comparing with other researchers' approaches in this field, this method also can get a competitive accuracy. The influence of different component of this method will be analyzed and evaluated in the future research.

This paper proposes a gait phase classifier using a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). Walking is a type of dynamic system, and as such it seems that the classifier made by using a general feed forward neural network structure is not appropriate. It is known that an RNN is suitable to model a dynamic system. Because the proposed RNN is simple, we use a back propagation algorithm to train the weights of the network. The input data of the RNN is the lower body's joint angles and angular velocities which are acquired by using the lower limb exoskeleton robot, ROBIN-H1. The classifier categorizes a gait cycle as two phases, swing and stance. In the experiment for performance verification, we compared the proposed method and general feed forward neural network based method and showed that the proposed method is superior.

Deep Learning is the most important key to the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI). There are several distinguishable architectures of neural networks such as MLP, CNN, and RNN. Among them, we try to understand one of the main architectures called Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) that differs from other networks in handling sequential data, including time series and texts. As one of the main tasks recently in Natural Language Processing (NLP), we consider Neural Machine Translation (NMT) using RNNs. We also summarize fundamental structures of the recurrent networks, and some topics of representing natural words to reasonable numeric vectors. We organize topics to understand estimation procedures from representing input source sequences to predict target translated sequences. In addition, we apply multiple translation models with Gated Recurrent Unites (GRUs) in Keras on English-Korean sentences that contain about 26,000 pairwise sequences in total from two different corpora, colloquialism and news. We verified some crucial factors that influence the quality of training. We found that loss decreases with more recurrent dimensions and using bidirectional RNN in the encoder when dealing with short sequences. We also computed BLEU scores which are the main measures of the translation performance, and compared them with the score from Google Translate using the same test sentences. We sum up some difficulties when training a proper translation model as well as dealing with Korean language. The use of Keras in Python for overall tasks from processing raw texts to evaluating the translation model also allows us to include some useful functions and vocabulary libraries as well.

Recently as voice authentication function is installed in the system, it is becoming more important to accurately authenticate speakers. Accordingly, a model for verifying speakers in various ways has been suggested. In this paper, we propose a new method for verifying speaker verification using a Short-time Fourier Transform(STFT). Unlike the existing Mel-Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients(MFCC) extraction method, we used window function with overlap parameter of around 66.1%. In this case, the speech characteristics of the speaker with the temporal characteristics are studied using a deep running model called RNN (Recurrent Neural Network) with LSTM cell. The accuracy of proposed model is around 92.8% and approximately 5.5% higher than that of the existing speaker certification model.

Coal and Natural gas are two biggest contributors to a generation of energy throughout the world. Most of these resources create environmental pollution while making energy affecting the natural habitat. Many approaches have been proposed as alternatives to these sources. One of the leading alternatives is Solar Energy which is usually harnessed using solar farms. In artificial intelligence, the most researched area in recent times is machine learning. With machine learning, many tasks which were previously thought to be only humanly doable are done by machine. Neural networks have two major subtypes i.e. Convolutional neural networks (CNN) which are used primarily for classification and Recurrent neural networks which are utilized for time-series predictions. In this paper, we predict energy generated by solar fields and optimal angles for solar panels in these farms for the upcoming seven days using environmental and historical data. We experiment with multiple configurations of RNN using Vanilla and LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) RNN. We are able to achieve RSME of 0.20739 using LSTMs.

In this paper, various architectures of deep neural networks were applied for sound event detection and their performances were compared using a common audio database. The FNN, CNN, RNN and CRNN were implemented using hyper-parameters optimized for the database as well as the architecture of each neural network. Among the implemented deep neural networks, CRNN performed best at all testing conditions and CNN followed CRNN in performance. Although RNN has a merit in tracking the time-correlations in audio signals, it showed poor performance compared with CNN and CRNN.

Sentiment analysis, a branch of natural language processing that classifies and identifies subjective opinions and emotions in text documents as positive or negative, can be used for various promotions and services through customer preference analysis. To this end, recent research has been conducted utilizing various techniques in machine learning and deep learning. In this study, we propose an optimal language model by comparing the accuracy of sentiment analysis for movie, product, and game reviews using existing RNN-based models and recent Transformer-based language models. In our experiments, LMKorBERT and GPT3 showed relatively good accuracy among the models pre-trained on the Korean corpus.
