  • This research explores the consumers' experience in retailing channel(offline channel and online channel) using the critical incident technique. This research aims to clarify the common incidents within retailing channels which implies decisive factors over the channels, and to clarify the contrasts between channels to compare advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, the research is designed to collect the consumers' narrative of those who have used both channels in 3 months. Classifications are conducted with other researchers majoring consumer science. The results address how impressive experiences are constructed on each channel in three dimensions: product, information search, and the purchase-service dimension. These results are able to provide implications for offline and online retailers and directions for future research.

  • Ginseng extracts were frnctionelod into several fractions with carious organic solvents, and the effects of these fractions on the activity of aminoacyl-tRHA synthetase was examined. Fractions which showed positive effect on the activity of the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase were obtained both from white ginseng and red ginseng. The total methanol extract of whit ginseng and the ether extract from the total methanol extract of red ginseng gave Positive results. Therefore it may be Presumed that the Positive components have rather nonpolar nature.

  • When a fire takes place, the escape tunnel which could prevent passengers and the crew from disasters would be most important facility among railway tunnel facilities for prevention of disaster. A shorter space between the escape tunnels is much better for safety because of short escape time. The establishment of short space escape tunnels(driftways) in the single track parallel tunnel is much easier. The establishment of long space escape tunnels(inclined shafts, vertical shafts) in the double track is much more advantageous economically. We, therefore, compared the movement time of smog originated from fire with the escape time of the crew and passengers for setting up the best space between the escape tunnels in the double track tunnel. We could calculate the best space between the escape tunnels in the double track tunnel properly by computer simulation.

  • The union of broadcasting and telecommunication is developing by the rapid advance of communications technology and the digitalization of broadcasting. IPTV appears as a standard service of the union of broadcasting and telecommunication because it uses more extended broadband which enables people to watch TVs and uses various communication services at the same time. Therefore, I would like to study the structure of IPTV services, some technical issues for high-quality services and propose solutions.

  • Most simple bone cysts are found in the metaphysis of the long bone, such as proximal humerus or proximal femur. Appropriate treatment is aspiration of the cyst followed by instillation of methylprednisolone or curettage with bone graft. We experienced 1 case of the simple bone cyst of the metatarsal bone. This case was treated by curettage and inserting allograft into the defect.

  • The home environments, daily activities, caregiving behaviors of mothers, infant's verbal behaviors, attachment to mothers of home-reared infants from low SES families were observed. 30 two-year-old home-reared infants and their mothers were observed at home by the time sampling method. The HOME scale, the behavioral checking lists for caregiving behaviors and for the infants' verbal behaviors, and the Attachment Q-set were used for the observation. the total HOME scores were in the middle range and the scores of "Provision of apropriate play materials" was relatively high, but "Avoidance of restriction and physical punishment" was low. The most frequent caregiving behaviors shown by mothers were " Facilitating verbal development" and "Positive social-emotional inputs". The most frequent verbal behaviors shown by infants were " Information exchange" and " Language interpretation" . The infants' attachment security scores of their mothers tended to be low.

  • This study aims to investigate how the four college students interact with one another to discuss and construct meaning in a small reading group. Additionally, this study attempts to examine how the participants played their roles in the group. Data sources consisted of transcripts of the students' interactions, questionnaires and informal interviews, and the researchers' observation notes. The data revealed that the participants contributed fairly steadily to the interactions by checking with own grammatical knowledge, providing lexical information, understanding the micro level context, and presenting the macro level context. Several pedagogical implications are presented for the practical classroom. Findings of the study suggest effective ways to implement group activities in reading classes and a teacher's role for optimum group learning.

  • This study was carried out to investigate seed germination and seedling of cabbage and sugar beet in four treatments of salinity including 0 (control), 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5% NaCl. The results showed that different treatments of salinity had considerable effects on the germination and root and shoot length of cabbage and sugar beet. Percent of germination in both species showed significant decrease with increasing salinity up to 1.5% NaCl. This decrease was more evident in cabbage when compared to sugar beet. The required time for germination increased with high levels of salinity. The seedling growth of both species were inhibited by all salinity levels. Particularly at 1.0 and 1.5% NaCl, no measurable length was observed in cabbage and sugar beet. At 0.5% NaCl root growth of both plant species was more affected as compared to shoot growth by salinity.

  • Since the introduction of literature in reading and writing during the 1970s, considerable research has attempted to determine whether literature has significantly positive effects upon enhancement of reading proficiency. It is said that literature extends our knowledge of the world. Through books, we can experience other people's thoughts, experiences, and ideas (Frye, 1964). This paper explored the role of children's literature for the teaching of reading through the literature-based instruction. It focused on why and how children's literature serves as an important context for enhancing learner's reading proficiency of English. It also discussed the authentic use of literature-based strategies for practical classroom use, and suggested the future directions for research toward the literature-based instruction in the domain of reading comprehension.
