  • For the color offset printing, it starts with input of data. The past days, drum scanner or flat scanner used to input of data, but now it changes gradually into using of digital camera because digital camera become popular. The high quality digital camera saves as a data(RAW format), sRGB which have built in digital camera, or Adobe RGB format. sRGB of ICC(International Color Consortium) profile is a standard color gamut of digital camera. Distribution of color gamut in sRGB is less than Adobe RGB have a distribution in ICC profile. sRGB also can not be expressed in some specific part, because distribution of color gamut in sRGB is not able to cover all parts in ICC Profile of international standards CMYK. It is more popular to use Adobe RGB than sRGB to do high quality offset printing and software basis color setting in Europe and Japan. In spite of this data basis, there is a difficulty of doing color correction between the color proofing prints and the final prints. To see how the software color setting effects to RGB data, this thesis will use Gretag Macbeth ColorChecker 24 patch which has the most general natural color chart to compare sRGB and Adobe RGB to check the differences of color changes. It will use the several factors that came out from the process of making ICC Profile to figure out the optimum In-house profile. It also compares the differences of using matt paper and glossy paper to do best quality color proof offset printing, and how the Rendering Intent effects the proof print.

  • LEDs are increasingly used for many applications including automotive, aviation, display, transportation and special lighting applications. Generally, the RGB multichip LED luminaire applied to signboard, emotional lighting system and display device and the white LED luminaire applied to general lighting system. white LED spectra for general lighting should be designed for high luminous efficacy as well as good color rendering. This paper describes characteristics of LED luminaire white LED and RGB multichip LED. Two type of LED luminaire prototype used experiment physical, electrical and optic test and performance analyzed. RGB multi-chip and phosphor-type white LED luminaire were analyzed by experiment on their color characteristics and luminous efficacy of radiation, distribution curve, and electrical characteristics. Research work is in progress to develop an improved performance for optic and electrical works well for two type of LED luminaires.

  • The current hierarchical model of galaxy formation predicts that galaxy halos contain merger relics in the form of long stellar streams. In order to find stellar substructures in galaxy, we focused our investigation on the stellar spatial density around globular clusters and on the quantitative properties of the evolved sequences in the color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs). First, we investigated the spatial configuration of stars around five metal-poor globular clusters in halo region (M15, M30, M53, NGC 5053, and NGC 5466) and one metal-poor globular cluster in bulge region (NGC 6626). Our findings indicate that all of these globular clusters show strong evidence of extratidal features in the form of extended tidal tails around the clusters. The orientations of the extratidal features show the signatures of tidal tails tracing the clusters' orbits and the effects of dynamical interactions with the galaxy. These features were also confirmed by the radial surface density profiles and azimuthal number density profiles. Our results suggest that these six globular clusters are potentially associated with the satellite galaxies merged into the Milky Way. Second, we derived the morphological parameters of the red giant branch (RGB) from the near-infrared CMDs of 12 metal-poor globular clusters in the Galactic bulge. The photometric RGB shape indices such as colors at fixed magnitudes, magnitudes at fixed colors, and the RGB slope were measured for each cluster. The magnitudes of the RGB bump and tip were also estimated. The derived RGB parameters were used to examine the overall behavior of the RGB morphology as a function of cluster metallicity. The behavior of the RGB shape parameters was also compared with the previous observational calibration relation and theoretical predictions of the Yonsei-Yale isochrones. Our results of studies for stellar spatial distribution around globular clusters and the morphological properties of RGB stars in globular clusters could add further observational evidence of merging scenario of galaxy formation.

  • Pine wilt disease is one of the reasons that results in huge damage on pine trees in east Asia including Korea, Japan, and China, and early finding and removing the diseased trees is an efficient way to prevent the forest from wide spreading. This paper proposes a searching method of the damaged pine trees from wilt disease in ortho-images corrected from RGB images, which are captured by unmanned aviation vehicles. The proposed method constructs patch-based classifier using ResNet18 backbone network, classifies the RGB ortho-image patches, and make the results as a heat map. The heat map can be used to find the distribution of diseased pine trees, to show the trend of spreading disease, and to extract the RGB distribution of the diseased areas in the image. The classifier in the work shows 94.7% of accuracy.

  • The distributions of Horizontal Branch (HB) star color, temperature, and mass encode a great deal of information on the stellar evolutionary and (possibly) dynamical processes taking place in Globular Clusters (GCs). An accurate physical modeling of the Red Giant Branch (RGB) mass-loss process is key to solving the so-called second parameter problem. In my poster I will present the most recent advancements of an analytical model for mass-loss along the RGB. The model predicts the HB mass distribution with remarkable accuracy over a sample of 4 GCs. These results were submitted as a paper to ApJ (Pasquato et al. 2013, ApJ submitted), but here I expand on them presenting refinements to the model and a comparison with HB masses obtained from Galex ultraviolet observations.

  • This paper describes the effects of chip arrangement configurations and the dimension of a reflecting cup upon the light output characteristics of a white lamp composed of RGB LED chips. As a result of simulation, the shorter distance between adjacent chips leads to a relative decrease in the light output efficiency due to inter-chip absorption of quanta, but rather uniform color mixing is expected. Among the factors of designing a reflecting cup it is the tilt angle of the cup wall that plays a determining role upon the variation of the light distribution. The light distribution shows a sudden change of pattern from Lambertian to Batwing at about $35^{\circ}{\sim}40^{\circ}$ of tilt angle in case of a silver-coated wall cup.

  • Reference white in color television receiver can be achieved by adjusting the RGB gun current ratio and it is necessary to provide additional gain ratio adjustment for the RGB video signal. Generally, the gun current density profile has a gaussian distribution and the gain-bandwidth product of RGB channel amplifieris constant. Therefore brightness and spatial resolution are changed with variations in reference white of receiver. In this paper, the effect of RGB gun current and channel gain ratios on brightness and resolution of CPT is analyzed. Brightness is increased with the color temperature of referenc white because of Helmholtz-kohlrausch effect. The change in ligh output is more abrupt and spatial resolution is improved with unity current ratio. For more bright and improved ressolution we also present the range of color temperature of reference white for P22 phosphors.

  • To produce the white light, there are a single chip method using the blue light and phosphor coating, a multi chip method by mixing R, G, B light.. Multi chip method is proper for the smart lighting system by controling color and color temperature. And color rendering of single chip LED is good by even spectral distribution. To apply application technic like smart light system, this paper analyzed the properties of single chip LED and RGB multi chip LED, and implemented the 2 part subject evaluation for single chip LED and RGB multi chip LED. The first part is comparison of properties for single chip LED and RGB multi chip and second part is color appearance evaluation of 8 colors in each lighting environment.

  • Color correlogram is widely used in content-based image retrieval (CBIR) because it extracts not only the color distribution of pixels in images like color histogram, but also extracts the spatial information of pixels in the images. The color correlogram uses single color space. Therefore, the color correlograms does not have robust discriminative features. In this paper, we use both RGB and HSV color spaces together for the color correlogram to achieve better discriminative features. The proposed algorithm is tested on a large database of images and the results are compared with the single color space color correlogram. In simulation results, the proposed algorithm 5.63 average retrieval rank less than single color space correlogram.
