Performance Analysis of 3D Color Picker in Virtual Reality (가상현실 3차원 색상 선택기의 성능 분석)

  • In a virtual environment, a 3D workspace and 3D interaction are possible, but most virtual reality applications use a 2D color picker. This paper implements a 3D color picker based on 3D color space in a virtual environment, and compares color selection performance with the existing 2D color picker. The 3D color picker is intuitive by using the 3D color space as it is, and it can position the 3D pointer at a specific point in the color space using a controller, which is a virtual reality device, so a user can select a color in one step. On the other hand, the 2D color picker has the advantage of being familiar with existing users who work with colors in a computer environment, but has a disadvantage that requires several steps of user interaction since it has to set color properties through 2D interfaces. Based on user experiments, we confirmed the usefulness of a 3D color picker in addition to a 2D color picker in a virtual environment, and it was possible to perform natural 3D work in a virtual environment using the 3D color picker.

  • 이 논문은 응급상황을 인식하기 위하여 어안렌즈를 통해 획득된 영상을 이용하여 기절 동작을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 거실의 천장 중앙에 위치한 어안렌즈(fish-eye lens)를 장착한 카메라로부터 화각이 170인 RGB 컬러 모델의 어안 영상을 입력 받은 뒤, 가우시안 혼합 모델 기반의 적응적 배경 모델링 방법을 이용하여 동적으로 배경 영상을 갱신한다. 입력 영상의 평균 밝기를 구하고 평균 밝기가 급격하게 변화하지 않도록 영상 픽셀을 보정한 뒤, 입력 영상과 배경 영상과 차이가 큰 픽셀을 찾음으로써 움직이는 객체를 추출하였다. 그리고 연결되어 있는 전경 픽셀 영역들의 외곽점들을 추적하여 타원으로 매핑하고 움직이는 객체 영역의 형태를 단순화하였다. 이 타원을 추적하면서 어안 렌즈 영상을 투시 영상으로 변환한 다음 타원의 크기 변화, 위치 변화, 이동 속도 정보를 추출하여 이동과 정지 및 움직임이 기절동작과 유사한지를 판단하도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 실험자로 하여금 기절동작, 걷기 동작, 앉기 동작 등 여러 동작을 취하게 하고 기절 동작 인식을 실험하였다. 실험 결과 어안 렌즈 영상을 그대로 사용하는 것보다 투시 영상으로 변환하여 타원의 크기변화, 위치변화, 이동속도 정보를 이용하는 것이 높은 인식률을 보였다.

Automatic Detecting of Joint of Human Body and Mapping of Human Body using Humanoid Modeling (인체 모델링을 이용한 인체의 조인트 자동 검출 및 인체 매핑)

  • In this paper, we propose the method that automatically extracts the silhouette and the joints of consecutive input image, and track joints to trace object for interaction between human and computer. Also the proposed method presents the action of human being to map human body using joints. To implement the algorithm, we model human body using 14 joints to refer to body size. The proposed method converts RGB color image acquired through a single camera to hue, saturation, value images and extracts body's silhouette using the difference between the background and input. Then we automatically extracts joints using the corner points of the extracted silhouette and the data of body's model. The motion of object is tracted by applying block-matching method to areas around joints among all image and the human's motion is mapped using positions of joints. The proposed method is applied to the test videos and the result shows that the proposed method automatically extracts joints and effectively maps human body by the detected joints. Also the human's action is aptly expressed to reflect locations of the joints

Six-Color Separation based on Limitation of Colorant Amount and Dot Visibility Ordering (잉크량 제한과 도트 가시성 순서에 기반한 6색 분리 방법)

  • This paper proposes a six-color separation method of reducing unnecessary usage of colorants based on the limitation of total colorant amount and dot visibility ordering. First, the CIELAB values of input RGB image are estimated through the color-mixing model and compared with pre-calculated CIELAB values corresponding to all combination of CMYKlclm colorants with a constraint of color difference, thereby selecting initial CMYKlclm candidates. Next, the limitation on total colorant amount Is imposed on initial CMYKlclm candidates to remove the excessive amounts of colorants, and then final CMYKlclm candidates are determined by minimizing the usage of light cyan and light magenta in the dark region based on the dot visibility ordering of C, M, Y, K, lc, and lm. Through the experiment, the proposed method is shown to reduce the excessive amount of colorants with preserving good image quality.

  • Digital maps are made by experts who digitize the data from aerial image and field survey. And the digital maps are updated every 2 years in National Geographic Information Institute. Conventional Digitizing methods take a lot of time and cost. And geographic information needs to be modified and updated appropriately as geographical features are changing rapidly. Therefore in this paper, we modify the digital map updates the road information for rapid high-resolution aerial orthophoto taken at different times were performed HSI color conversion. Road area of the cassification was performed the region growing methods. In addition, changes in the target area for analysis by applying the CVA technique to compare the changed road area by analyzing the accuracy of the proposed extraction.

  • A new tongue examination model by using color analysis according to the taste division of tongue. The proposed system consists of a tongue image acquisition in a predefined template, taste region segmentation, color distribution analysis and abnormality decision of tongue by color analysis using Hue-Saturation histograms and the part of a mobile application service. We divided 4 basic taste(bitter, sweet, salty and sour) regions and performed color distribution analysis targeting each region under HSI(Hue Saturation Intensity) color model. To minimize the influence of illumination, the histograms of H and S components only except U are utilized. Using the analyzed results, the abnormality is discriminated by the criteria of the histogram range of normal tongues. Finally, a self tongue diagnosis system which can be used anytime and anywhere on mobile environment.

Face Tracking Method based on Neural Oscillatory Network Using Color Information (컬러 정보를 이용한 신경 진동망 기반 얼굴추적 방법)

  • This paper proposes a real-time face detection and tracking system that uses neural oscillators which can be applied to access regulation system or control systems of user authentication as well as a new algorithm. We study a way to track faces using the neural oscillatory network which imitates the artificial neural net of information handing ability of human and animals, and biological movement characteristic of a singular neuron. The system that is suggested in this paper can broadly be broken into two stages of process. The first stage is the process of face extraction, which involves the acquisition of real-time RGB24bit color video delivering with the use of a cheap webcam. LEGION(Locally Excitatory Globally Inhibitory)algorithm is suggested as the face extraction method to be preceded for face tracking. The second stage is a method for face tracking by discovering the leader neuron that has the greatest connection strength amongst neighbor neuron of extracted face area. Along with the suggested method, the necessary element of face track such as stability as well as scale problem can be resolved.

A Study on the Improvement of Image Fusion Accuracy Using Smoothing Filter-based Replacement Method (SFR기법을 이용한 영상 융합의 정확도 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Image fusion techniques are widely used to integrate a lower spatial resolution multispectral image with a higher spatial resolution panchromatic image. However, the existing techniques either cannot avoid distorting the image spectral properties or involve complicated and time-consuming decomposition and reconstruction processing in the case of wavelet transform-based fusion. In this study a simple spectral preserve fusion technique: the Smoothing Filter-based Replacement(SFR) is proposed based on a simplified solar radiation and land surface reflection model. By using a ratio between a higher resolution image and its low pass filtered (with a smoothing filter) image, spatial details can be injected to a co-registered lower resolution multispectral image minimizing its spectral properties and contrast. The technique can be applied to improve spatial resolution for either colour composites or individual bands. The fidelity to spectral property and the spatial quality of SFM are convincingly demonstrated by an image fusion experiment using IKONOS panchromatic and multispectral images. The visual evaluation and statistical analysis compared with other image fusion techniques confirmed that SFR is a better fusion technique for preserving spectral information.

360 RGBD Image Synthesis from a Sparse Set of Images with Narrow Field-of-View (소수의 협소화각 RGBD 영상으로부터 360 RGBD 영상 합성)

  • Depth map is an image that contains distance information in 3D space on a 2D plane and is used in various 3D vision tasks. Many existing depth estimation studies mainly use narrow FoV images, in which a significant portion of the entire scene is lost. In this paper, we propose a technique for generating 360° omnidirectional RGBD images from a sparse set of narrow FoV images. The proposed generative adversarial network based image generation model estimates the relative FoV for the entire panoramic image from a small number of non-overlapping images and produces a 360° RGB and depth image simultaneously. In addition, it shows improved performance by configuring a network reflecting the spherical characteristics of the 360° image.
