RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is an emerging technology which brings enormous productivity benefits in applications where objects have to be identified automatically. But despite of RFID's advantage, it is not easy to realize the RFID technology in business world. The failure to read RFID tags is the most urgent problem that should be solved for RFID application. Specially, in metal and liquid material, recognition rate of RFID tag is lower than others. Though some special tags for metal and liquid have been invented, it has not prevalent in business world on account of high price. In this paper, styrofoam pad is suggested to improve recognition rate of RFID tag for metal pipe which is used in fish cultivating industry. We makes experiment using Taguchi method and analyze the effects on styrofoam thickness, attachment location of tag, and angle of antenna.

In this paper, we present a RFID system by using a wireless sensor network. The proposed system is installed in glove for activity monitoring. The RFID reader, to send data by using sensor network platform and RFID tag are small size, the shape of quadrangle, and operate in the frequency of 13.56 MHz. The sensor node can read RFID tags on the various objects used in daily living such as furniture, medicines, and kitchenwares. The sensor node reads the data of RFID tags, it transmits wireless packets to the sink node. The sink node sends the received packet immediately to a server system. The data from each RFID system is collected into a database, and then the data are processed to visualize the measurement of daily living activities of users. We provide a web-based monitoring system, and can see the number of RFID tag readings per day as bar charts. The result of experiments demonstrates that the way we propose can help to check the situation of life for people who live alone.

Recently, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems stands in the spotlight of industry as a common and useful tool in manufacturing, supply chain management (SCM) and stock management. In the near future, low-cost RFID Electronic Product Code; (EPC) or smart-labels may be a practical replacement for optical barcodes on consumer items. However, manufacturing cheap and small RFID tags, and developing secure RFID authentication Protocols are problems which need to be solved. In spite of advances in semiconductor technology, computation and storage ability of the tag are so limited that it is difficult and too expensive to apply existing crypto-systems to RFID tags. Thus it is necessary to create a new protocol which would require less storage space and lower computation costs and that is secure in the RFID system's environments. In this paper, we propose a RFID authentication protocol that is secure against location tracking and spoofing attacks. Our protocol can be used as a practical solution for privacy protection because it requires less computations in database than the previous RFID authentication protocol.

Most of existing RFID authentication protocols either suffer from some security weaknesses or require costly operations that are not available on low-cost tags. In this paper, we analyzed the security mechanism of a lightweight authentication protocol.

In this paper, we propose a general idea about an RFID system which provides lighted weight algorithm. We discuss how RFID could be applied for this kind of system, especially, compact protocol. We evaluate a few protocols that have been suggested for use in passive RFID tagged systems. We can reduce security computation without losing security features by message integration and pre-computation in this paper. And the proposed protocol can be used in low-cost RFID systems that require a small computational load for both the back-end database and the tags.
RFID, Radio Frequency Identification, is a technology of automated identification replacing bar-code. RFID technology has advantages that it recognizes fast and it is strong to contamination using wireless communication. However, there are difficult problems that should be solved for popularization of RFID. Among of these, tag anti-collision problem is dealed in this paper. It affected the performance of RFID system directly. This paper analyzes conventional algorithms and proposes new algorithms of tag anti-collision. The algorithm proposed was composed of appropriate properties to each phase of distribution and recognition as hybrid between ALOHA-based algorithm and QT-based algorithm. At phase of distribution, the number of tags recognizing at a frame was reduced using ALOHA-based algorithm. It addressed the delay problem because of deep depth of tree. At phase of recognition, it solved ALOHA-based chronic problem that couldn't recognize all the tags sometimes. Moreover, QTR algorithm that recognize by reversed tag IDs was adopted for the performance. The FQTR algorithm proposed in this paper showed brilliant performance as compared with convention algorithms by simulation.

A RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) system is a kind of radio frequency communication system and a branch of automatic data collection system. RFID system consists of RFID tags(or transponders) and RFID readers(controllers). This paper deals with the wireless communication that acquires tag IDs through RFID readers, and show the implementation of the target system which transmits tag IDs and related information to the server on the Internet through the wireless local area network. Today's RFID systems are usually implemented with the wired communication environment. In this paper, however, RFID system is effectively realized with the widely deployed wireless local area network and various RFID data can be collected by the readers which are communicating with the wireless access points of the local area network. Through the Internet, users also can have easy access to the server on the web and retrieve, analyze, and utilize tags' information.

A reader protocol is an interface between a host and RFID readers. There are several standards for reader protocol such as EPCglobal Low Level Reader Protocol (LLRP) 1.0.1, EPCglobal Reader Protocol (RP) 1.1, and ISO/IEC 15961/15962. Unfortunately, these standards focus on the passive RFID system, and so they are not appropriate for the active RFID system. In this paper, we implemented an efficient reader protocol for the active RFID system, which is based on EPCglobal LLRP 1.0.1, but smoothing/filtering functions of EPCglobal RP 1.1 are added. This protocol is designed to configure air interface parameters for active RFID readers and tags. It can reduce the amount of data transfer between the reader and host by filtering function, and can improve the performance of tag collection by smoothing function. In addition, it can remove inefficiency caused by tag memory data change according to the standards of ISO/IEC 15961/15962. In the real-world environment, we evaluated the performance of our implemented reader protocol using one RFID reader and 45 tags.
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a next generation technology that will replace barcode. RFID can identify an object by reading ID inside a RFID tag using radio frequency. However, because a RFID tag replies its unique ID to the request of any reader through wireless communication, it is vulnerable to attacks on security or privacy through wiretapping or an illegal reader's request. The RFID authentication protocol has been studied actively in order to solve security and privacy problems, and is used also in tag search. Recently, as the number of tags is increasing in RFTD systems and the cost of data collection is also rising, the importance of effective tag search is increasing. This study proposed an efficient search method that solved through ta9 group the problem of large volume of database computation in Miyako Ohkubo's hash chain mechanism, which meets requirements for security and privacy protection. When we searched first the group of tags with access rate of 5 or higher in a database with 100,000 records, search time decreased by around 30%.

This paper proposes the location acquisition methods and LBS(location-based services) system using RFID(radio frequency identification) tags with location information in ubiquitous city. Location information is checked using RFID tags attached to various buildings. stores and road signs. And various LBSs are provided based on the location information. Traditionally, when the location information is obtained by a GPS, the precision of the location information may deteriorate due to geographical displacement of a satellite and GPS receivers, for example shadow zone by building, in-door environment, and heavy cloud. The objective of this paper is to provide a ULID(universal location identification) data structure, a ULID-based location acquisition method and an LBS system, in which precise location information is extracted using RFID tags attached to various buildings, stores and road signs and ULID and also danger of information leakage is minimized so that an LBS of ubiquitous environment can be provided to a user.
