  • The EPC-Discovery Service (EPC-DS) is a good representative of the RFID Track & Trace. But this mechanism has several problems. EPC-DS uses centralized server scheme which may arise bottle-neck state and that cannot provide detail trace information of a RFID object. In addition, a trace node requires direct access method to a RFID object or an element which has information of the RFID object for Track & Trace. In this paper, we propose a novel RFID Track & Trace mechanism which based on the SIP presence model and SIP event notification. This mechanism can provide detail trace information and monitoring function, and also can rid the bottle-neck section by combination of SIP methods instead of centralized element.

  • Pharmaceutical companies over the world are exposed to risks of lessened sales and negative impact on corporate image due to circulation of counterfeit drugs, which eventually threatens safety of patients. thus, in order to eradicate distribution of counterfeit drugs, many countries are taking initiatives to legalize and set serialization through e-Pedigree, which is based on RFID technology or barcode system to track and trace distribution of drugs from point of manufacturing to usage. therefore, this study contemplates domestic and international management system of medical drugs and suggests application methods of e-Pedigree based on RFID technology that promotes safety of patients and distribution of drugs.

  • Counterfeit products have been a major concern in global market. With the emergence of RFID systems, to detect counterfeit products in supply chain is relatively easy. Many anti-counterfeiting techniques for products attached by RFID tag are proposed. Most of the previous anti-counterfeiting techniques are not considering the distribution of the counterfeit from a customer to a customer. Using the ownership transfer protocols we can prevent the counterfeit from being distributed on the supply chain as well as between the customers and the customers. The ownership transfer protocols must be modified for anti-counterfeiting because of the usage of the protocol. In this paper, we modify the ownership transfer protocol proposed by G. Kapoor and S. Piramuthu[1] to be able to detect the counterfeit and track and trace the products in the supply chain. Our proposed protocol consists of three phases: the products delivery phase, the products takeover phase, and the products sale phase. We show that our protocol is anti-counterfeiting as well as secure against the security attacks.

  • RFID is new recognition technology which can trace IC chip(built in information) with wireless frequency. The present RFID is used in parcel service, missing child potection system, bus card, and extensive areas. This paper proposes and designs a belongings position tracking system using RFID with GPS. The main features of the proposed system are as follows. First, the system can in real time track the lost belongings. Second, the system can provide lost belonging location information to the users. The performance evaluation of the proposed system is performed by using AVD(Android Virture Device).

  • This study intends to surveyrequirements for port and logistics supply chain management with RFID {Radio Frequency IDentification)technology. Port and logistics supply chain management has become a critical issue due to the necessity of efficiency, visibility, trace-ability, etc. Since the introduction of RFID technology, its performance, reliability, validity, and safety have been a concern in most industries. Particularly, in port and logistics supply chain management, RFID has the potential to track the movement of containers and to provide in-transit visibility toward customers. In thispaper we consider some critical issues related to port and logistics supply chain management, which previously adopted RFID technology. In order to successfully design and adopt RFID technology and utilize it as optimally as is possible in the port and logistics industry, it is necessary to understand the potential of shipping companies and their requirements in adopting RFID technology in port and logistics.

  • The EPCglobal Network is a computer network used to share product data among trading partners. It provides the supply chain with improved visibility and traceability by using Electronic Product Code (EPC), which is stored on an RFID tag. Although this network model is widely accepted as a global standard and the growth of EPCglobal-subscriber base is considerable, the EPC technology adoption process is still in its infancy. This is because some of the critical issues on this model still remain to be verified such as scalability, data management, security, privacy and the economic value of data sharing. In this paper, we focus on scalability issue among the challenges to overcome and we regard performance of the EPCglobal Network only as a track and trace query-processing cost in the network. We developed performance models consisting of three elements of the EPCglobal Network : Discovery Services (DS), EPC Information Services (EPCIS), Object Naming Services (ONS). Then we abstracted out the track and trace query execution model to evaluate performance of the overall EPCglobal Network. Finally using the proposed models, we carried out simulation analysis based on an RFID-based inbound logistics process of automobile parts. This work is an important step towards the EPC technology diffusion and provides guidelines for businesses looking to buy or build the EPCglobal Network-based systems.

  • Traceability is essential in modern automotive manufacturing. Among existing technologies, RFID is the most promising choice for this purpose. However, due to the harsh conditions of production lines, especially in the paint shop, automobile OEMs would require expensive dedicated RFID tags and readers, which are incompatible with standard RFID technologies. Unlike the manufacturing industry, the logistics industry uses UHF label tags for track and trace, which provides high performance and a low price. Recently, this technology has improved to the extent that it can be used in harsh conditions such as on metal parts or in liquid. Herein, we assess the technical, operational, and economic feasibility of UHF label-tag technology for seamless end-toend traceability. Based on prototyping, lab/field tests, and cost-benefit analysis, we have proven that the single disposable UHF tags can successfully replace the problematic and expensive tags used in most domestic automobile OEMs today.

  • Bar-code based airway logistics systems have many problems like freight loss and data management error due to semiskilled air-cargo process and individual information system. To solve these problems, this paper analyzed how to process an air-cargo practically and designed and implemented the RFID-based airway logistics system. This system has an information service system which manages data from RFID systems in realtime and provides a communication interface for data sharing. And, this system precesses data queries from capture applications and access applications to provide various services to users such as the freight track and trace service. Also, this system includes a H/H reader agent to integrate existing bar-cord systems. It allows us to realize automation and information-oriented air-cargo process and achieve improvement of air-cargo services with reduction of freight loss and management error.
