  • Radio frequency identification system (RFID) is an automatic technology and aids machines or computers to identify objects, record metadata or control individual target through radio waves. Connecting RFID reader to the terminal of Internet, the readers can identify, track and monitor the objects attached with tags globally, automatically, and in real time, if needed. This is the so-called Internet of Things (IoT). RFID is often seen as a prerequisite for the IoT. This paper introduces amd surveyed the technologies of RFID and IoT, discusses the applications and challenges of RFID technology used in IoT.

  • RFID system is applied to various industry such as process control, distribution management, access control, environment sensing, entity identification, etc. Since RFID system uses wireless communication, it has more weak points for security. In this paper, an authentication protocol is suggested between tags and a reader, which is basic property for security. A suggested protocol use a bivariate polynomial over a finite field and is secure against snooping, replay attack, position tracking and traffic analysis.

  • As RFID technology is becoming ubiquitous, the secunty of these systems gets much attention. Its fields of usage include personal identification, supply-chain management systems, and many more. Many kinds of RFID tags are available on the market which differ both in storage, and computational capacity. Since by standard IT means all the tags have small capacities, the security mechanisms which are in use in computer networks are not suitable. For expensive tags with relatively large computational capacities many secure communication protocols were developed, for cheap low-end tags, only a few lightweight protocols exist. In this paper we introduce our solution, which is based on the least computation demanding operator, the exclusive or function. By introducing two tags instead of one in the RFID system, our scheme provides security solutions which are comparable with those provided by the lightweight protocols. In the meantime, our scheme does not demand any computational steps to be made by the ta.

  • Applying Varying Pseudonym (VP) to design of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) authentication protocol outperforms the other existing approaches in several respects. However, this approach is prone to the well-known denial-ofservice (DOS) attack. In this paper, we examine the de-synchronization problems of VP-based RFID authentication protocols, and propose effective solutions to eliminate such weaknesses. We shall show that the proposed solutions indeed improve the security for these protocols, and moreover, these solutions require 0(1) computational cost for identitying a tag and 0(1) key space on the tag. These excellent performances make them very attractive to many RFID applications.

  • Recently, the RFID technology is combined with a u-healthcare services is an emerging trend in the field of medical services. u-healthcare service, as covering the field of personal health information beyond the level of simple health screening and treatment of life are closely related. Considering security, invasion of privacy, as well as life may be threatened even if your personal health information to be exposed or exploited illegally u-Healthcare services certification is essential. In 2012, Jeong proposed J-L patient authentication protocol that Initialization process, and patients using RFID technology separates the certification process. Jeong, such as the claim that the proposed protocol for reuse attacks, spoofing attacks, prevent information disclosure and traceability fire safety, but raises issues of security and operations efficiency. Therefore, in this paper, Jeong, such as the security of the proposed protocol and to prove the computational efficiency issues, and to enhance the safety and efficiency of RFID technology based on practical u-Healthcare services authentication protocol is proposed.

  • The RFID system includes a section of wireless communication between the readers and the tags. Because of its vulnerability in terms of security, this part is always targeted by attackers and causes various security problems including the leakage of secret and the invasion of privacy. In response to these problems, various protocols have been proposed, but because many of them have been hardly implementable they have been limited to theoretical description and theorem proving without the accurate verification of their safety. Thus, this study tested whether the protocol proposed by Kenji et al. satisfies security requirements, and identified its vulnerabilities such as the exposure of IDs and messages. In addition, we proposed an improved RFID security protocol that reduced the number of public keys and random numbers. As one of its main characteristics, the proposed protocol was designed to avoid unnecessary calculations and to remove vulnerabilities in terms of security. In order to develop and verify a safe protocol, we tested the protocol using Casper and FDR(Failure Divergence Refinements) and confirmed that the proposed protocol is safe in terms of security. Furthermore, the academic contributions of this study are summarized as follows. First, this study tested the safety of a security protocol through model checking, going beyond theorem proving. Second, this study suggested a more effective method for protocol development through verification using FDR.

  • In 2005, Ko-Kim-Kwon pointed out Henrici-Muller's hash based RFID authentication protocol is insecure to location tracking attack, spoofing attack and Denial of Service attack. Then, they proposed a new RFID authentication protocol(3K-RFID) that can withstand these security problems. However, this paper shows that 3K-RFID authentication protocol is still not only vulnerable to spoofing attack and Denial of Service attack but also does not provide forward secrecy, and then proposes an improved secure I3K-RFID authentication protocol in order to resolve such problems.

  • RFID could be applied in the various fields such as distribution beside, circulation, traffic and environment on information communication outside. So this can speak as point of ubiquitous computing's next generation technology. However, it is discussed problem of RFID security recently, so we must prepare thoroughly about RFID security for secure information. In this paper, we proposed a method which could protect private information and ensure RFID's identification effectively storing face feature information on RFID tag. Our method which is improved linear discriminant analysis has reduced dimension of feature information which has large size of data. Therefore, we can sore face feature information in small memory field of RFID tag. Our propose d algorithm has shown 92% recognition rate in experimental results and can be applied to entrance control management system, digital identification card and others.

  • RFID System has an advantage that it need not touch an objects for identification of many objects. Because it is working through wireless communication. Also, So many objects can be identified with RFID System at once. However, although RFID System has convenience like above, it has serious privacy concern at the same time. If RFID System is working with an target object through wireless communication, other objects will respond to RFID System signal as well as a target object. Hence, RFID System can be easily exposed user privacy by attacker. In this paper, We propose RFID system authentication model in order to protecting user privacy and traking. Proposed RFID system is operating that not only server authenticate RFID reader but also RFID reader and tag authenticate mutually by using symetric cryptography that operating with tiny and simple processing.
