Post-Annealing Effect of GZO/ZnO/CdS Window Layers for CIGS Solar Cells

  • 기존의 CIGS 태양전지는 window 층(GZO/ZnO/CdS)에서의 투과 및 반사 손실을 줄이기 위하여 MgF2를 이용한 AR (Anti Reflection) 층을 적용하여 cell을 제작하고 있다. 현재 단위공정을 줄이고 시간적 경제적 비용을 절감하기위해 무반사 코팅층 없이 표면의 구조를 변화 시키거나 CIGS 태양전지의 window 층만으로 cell 구조에 적용하는 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 AR층과 window층 역할을 동시에 만족하는 일체화된 window층 두께를 설계하고 성장한 후, window층의 열처리 전후의 구조적, 광학적 및 전기적 특성을 비교 평가하였다. Macleod simulation을 이용하여 window 층을 설계한 후, RF magnetron sputtering법을 이용하여 상온성장 시킨 후 N2 분위기에서 후열처리 조건에 따른 박막의 구조적, 전기적 및 광학적 특성을 변화를 X-ray diffractometer, Field emission-scanning electron microscope, Atomic force microscopy, 4 point probe, Hall 측정, 투과도 및 반사도등으로 비교 평가하였다.

FIRST OPERATING TEST OF THE 700 MHz 1 MW PROTOTYPE KLYSTRON FOR A PROTON ACCELERATOR

  • The design, manufacturing process, and first operating test of a high power RF source for a proton accelerator are described. A klystron amplifier system has been developed for operation at 700 MHz, 1 MW and is composed of a triode type electron gun, six cavities, an RF output window, a beam collector, and an electromagnet. The prototype klystron was constructed and tested at a reduced duty to produce the designed output RF power.

  • The $SnO_2$, Sn-doped $In_2O+3\; and \;Ce-doped\; TiO_2$ films have been prepared by RF sputtering method, and their opto-electrochemical properties were investigated in view of the applicability as counter electrodes in the electrochromic window system. These oxide films could reversibly intercalate $Li^+$ ions owing to the nanocrystalline texture, but remained colorless and transparent. The high transmittance of the lithiated films could be attributed to the prevalence of the $Sn^{4+}/Sn^{2+}\; and\; Ce^{4+}/Ce^{3+}$ redox couples having 5s and 6s character conduction bands, respectively. For the Ce-doped $TiO_2$ film, $(TiO_2)_{1-x}(CeO_2)_x$, an optimized electrochemical reversibility was found in the film with the composition of x = 0.1.

  • A wire communication module for PLC controller was developed. This system consists of RF module interface part, RS232 serial communication control part, LED display part and control S/W with GUI interface. RF communication frequency is controlled by PLL controlling and communication rate is also controlled as 1200 and 4800 bps. Communication and control status are displayed on LED. As a S/W part, graphic user interface on Window 95 O.S. was developed. To show the validity of the developed system, severial communication and control of PLC system were experemented.

  • 전기변색 (electrochromism) 박막은 전기화학적 산화, 환원 과정을 통해 가역적인 광학 특성의 변화를 갖는 현상을 말하며, 이를 이용한 전기변색 소자(electrochromic device)는 전력 소모가 적고 변색 효율이 크다는 장점으로 인해 Smart window, display, mirror 등에 응용 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 대표적인 전기 변색 물질인 WxOy, NixOy 전기 변색 재료의 Sputtering법으로 증착한 박막의 특성에 대하여 평가하였다.

  • The use of digital filters in the signal process field is increasing rapidly with development of the modern industrial society. Especially, detail processors, Y/C separators, ghost removing filters, standard converters (NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC) and noise reducers, all of which use digital filters, tend to be used in digital video and audio processing, CATV and various communication fields. Generally, there are two different digital filters, the Rf (infinite impulse response) filter and the FIR (finite impulse response) filter in digital filter. In this paper, we have designed FIR filter which has the phase linearity and the easiness of creation. In the design of the FIR digital filter, the window function is used to alleviate the ripples caused by Gibbs Phenomenon around the cut off frequency of the band pass. But there're some problems to choose proper window function for the design destination due to its fixed values. Therefore, in this paper, we designed a modified Hanning window with new parameter which is adaptively chosen corresponding to design objectives. The digital filter was simulated to prove the validity of the model and it was compared with the Hamming, the Manning, the Blacknan and the Kaiser window function. And we have used peak side-lobe and transient characteristics as standard of judgement.

The improved transmittance of an IR window by coating a DLC film (DLC 박막 코팅에 의한 IR window의 적외선 투과율 향상에 관한 연구)

  • The diamond-like carbon(DLC) film, as an antireflection layer, is coated on a commerically used Ge window. DLC films are deposited by using an rf(13.56 MHz) plasma CVD. The optimal value of thickness and refractive index of DLC layer has been determined from the computer simulation. IR-transmittances of DLC-coated Ge windows are estimated by measuring FTIR spectra in the wavelength range of$ 2.5{\sim}25{\mu}m$. By coating the DLC film on one side of the Ge window, the transmittance measured at a wavelength of $10{\mu}m$ is about 60 %, while that of the bare Ge is lower than 50 %. Also, a higher transmittance up to about 90 % is obtained by coating the DLC film on both sides of the window. It may be suggested that the further improvement of the IR-transmittance can be achieved by more precisely controlling the thickness and the refractive index of DLC layer and also by adopting various muliti-layer antireflection structures.

  • This study analyzes the method of adhesion and improvement between heat.er and RF filter in PE-CVD equipment through TRIZ method and proposes a solution. TRIZ Solution such as function analysis, 9-window matrix, ASIT, and Root cause analysis were used. The contact temperature between the heater and the RF filter was 20% and the surface temperature was lowered to 5.7℃, suggesting an improvement method for the thermal expansion of the PE-CVD equipment hot zone.

  • Al-doped ZnO (AZO) thin films have attracted a lot of attention as a cheap transparent conducting oxide (TCO) material that can replace the expensive Sn-doped In2O3. In particular, AZO thin films are widely used as a window layer of chalcogenide-based thin film solar cells such as Cu(In,Ga)Se2 and Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS). Mostly important requirements for the window layer material of the thin film solar cells are the high transparency and the low sheet resistance, because they influence the light absorption by the activelayer and the electron collection from the active layer, respectively. In this study, we prepared the AZO thin films by RF magnetron sputtering using a ZnO/Al2O3 (98:2wt%) ceramic target, and the effect of the sputtering condition such as the working pressure, RF power, and the working distance on the optical, electrical, and crystallographic properties of the AZO thin films was investigated. The AZO thin films with optimized properties were used as a window layer of CZTS thin film solar cells. The CZTS active layers were prepared by the electrochemical deposition and the subsequent sulfurization process, which is also one of the cost-effective synthetic approaches. In addition, the solar cell properties of the CZTS thin film solar cells, such as the photocurrent density-voltage (J-V) characteristics and the external quantum efficiency (EQE) were investigated.

  • An infrared (IR) bolometer measures the change of resistance by absorbing incident IR radiation and generates a signal as a function of the radiation intensity. Since a bolometer requires temperature stabilization and light filtering except for the infrared rays, it is essential for the device to be packaged meeting conditions that above mentioned. Minimization of heat loss is needed in order to stabilize temperature of bolometer. Heat loss by conduction or convection requires a medium, so the heat loss will be minimized if the medium is a vacuum. Therefore, vacuum packaging for bolometer is necessary. Another important element in bolometer packaging is germanium (Ge) window, which transmits IR radiation to heat the bolometer. To ensure a complete transmittance of IR light, anti-reflection (AR) coatings are deposited on both sides of the window. Although the transmittance of Ge window is high for IR rays, it is difficult to use frequently in low-price IR bolometer because of its high price. In this paper, we fabricated IR window by utilizing silicon (Si) substrate instead of Ge in order to reduce the cost of bolometer packaging. To enhance the IR transmittance through Si substrate, it is textured using Reactive Ion Etching (RIE). The texturing process of Si substrate is performed along with the change of experimental conditions such as gas ratio, pressure, etching time and RF power.
