The Study of Design and Implementation of RFID Emergency Medical Information System(REMIS) (RFID와 HL7을 이용한 응급 의료 정보 시스템 설계 및 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we designed the RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) Emergency Medical Information System(REMIS). This REMIS offers the emergency patient's medical information using RFID and HL7(Health Level 7) to an emergency medical technician. In emergency situation as like coma, if the communication, from the patient's current location to the hospital, is possible, REMIS offer the medical information of the patient through REMIS server to an emergency medical technician. In the state of communication blocked, REMIS can offer the patient identification and the emergency information through RFID tag, which the patient wear, to an emergency medical technician. When this system was designed, the protection of the patient's medical information and their privacy was considered, and the HL7 was used to be compatible with another medical systems. Therefore, in this paper, REMIS was designed that it is always possible to offer the emergency patient's information to an emergency medical technician regardless of any communication status and to improve the emergency rescue process, effectively.

  • In this paper, we designed a role-based emergency medical information security system REMISS added the security concept to the existing emergency medical information system. Also we suggested a REMISS protocol based on HL7 for using the emergency medical information and the security information. The procedure of security consists of user authentication phase and role/permission assign phase in the REMISS. The REMISS can supply proper security service since the REMISS assign proper permissions to each users of emergency medical information system and allow the user to access the permitted emergency medical information by using security information of the REMISS. There are some advantages that REMISS can adapt to the changing of the role of each user by dynamic exchanging the security information and assigning permissions to each user.

  • This study deals with developing and operating Reliability Analysis & Evaluation System for aircraft parts by analyzing ROKAF's AMMIS and phase inspection data for optimal inspection frequency. We suggest operating model with improving and adjusting inspection cycle by analyzing failure time data and tendency of crack with RELEX and Minitab software.

Molecular Analysis of Korean Isolate of Barley mild mosaic virus (Iks Isolate)

  • The complete nucleotide sequences of both RNA of an isolated Barley mild mosaic virus (BaMMV) from Iksan, Korea, have been determined. RNA1 was 7273 nucleotides long and encodes for a polyprotein of 2261 amino acids, which contains the eight putative functional proteins. RNA2 was 3520 nucleotides long and encodes for a polyprotein of 894 amino acids, which contains two functional proteins. Results of multiple sequence alignment showed 92.9% similarity with Na1 isolate, followed by Sil, UK(F), Asl1, Remis M and UK(M) isolates, respectively. Comparison of the BaMMV-Iks polyproteins with the corresponding proteins of BaMMV-Na1 isolates showed 95% amino acid sequence identity. The phylogenetic analysis revealed that Iks isolate was closely related to Na1 strain and have a common origin.

Surgical Treatment of Myasthenia Gravis (중증 근무력증의 수술적 치료)

  • Thymectomy is an accepted therapeutic modality for patients with myasthenia gravis. The selection of patients for operation, the timing of operation and the surgical approach are still controversial. We reviewed 82 patientsraged 13 to 66 years; mean age, 37.7 years treated with transsternal thymectomy between January 1983 and December 1994. Patients were symptomatically staged according to the modified Osserman's classification. There was one hospital death and postoperative follow-up was obtained on 75 patients. During a mean follow up of 56.9 months, 64 patients (85.3%) benefited from the operation with complete remis ion achieved in 28(37.3%). The thyroid disease was present in 8 patients, of whom 7(87. 5%) achieved complete remission in contrast to 21 (31.3%) of the 67 patients without thyroid disease. The disease duration less than 2 years in 32 patients was associated with complete remission in 16 (50%) in contrast to remission in 12(27.4%) of the 43 patients whose disease duration was more than 2 years. In conclusion, the complete remission rate after transsternal thymectomy was affected by the presence of thyroid disease and disease duration. Myasthenia gravis with late onset(>40 years), thymoma pathology, old age and male gender appear to decrease the complete remission rate after transsternal thymectomy, although it was not statistically significant. There was no difference of complete'remission rate between normal and hyperplasia of thymus. Transsternal thymectomy was found to be beneficial in most patients with myasthenia gravis, but the majority of patients with ocular disease did not b nefit from the operation.
