Improving the interoperability of mechanical design data using XML and ontology (XML과 온톨로지를 이용한 공학 설계 데이터의 상호운용성 증진에 관한 연구)

  • As the complexity of engineering design environment has increased, it is difficult to exchange design data among design support systems. The purpose of this paper is to develop the XML-based Generalized Mechanical Data Exchange Formats(GMDEF) independent of specific mechanical element and improve the interoperability of them using ontology, in order to integrate diverse design data and facilitate communication between design support systems. GMDEF consists of PartDoc and AssemblyDoc. PartDoc represents the information of a single part. AssemblyDoc represents the relation of parts constituting an assembly. GMDEF is validated by GMDEF Schema. GMDEF Schema consists of separated XML Schemas and has flexible architecture to facilitate extension. We apply ontology to GMDEF Schema to share and reuse vocabularies of specific mechanical elements.

  • ebXML은 단일 세계 전자 시장의 형성을 목표로. UN/CEFACT와 OASIS의 주도로 만들어진 인터넷 상에서 기업간 전자 상거래를 위한 XML 기반의 표준 프레임워크이다. ebXML에서는 비즈니스 트랜잭션으로 구성되는 비즈니스 협업을 ebBPSS (ebXML Business Process Specification Schema) 스펙에 정의하는데, 기업의 비즈니스 시나리오를 기술하기 위해서 이 ebBPSS를 따르는 ebXML 비즈니스 프로세스 영세를 기술한다. 본 논문에서는 ebXML 비즈니스 프로세스 명세를 비즈니스 라이브러리에 저장하고, 서로 다른 시스템 사이에서 교환하기 위해 메타프레임워크인 XMI와 RDF 문서로 변환시키는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이 알고리즘은 ebXML의 상호 운영성에 기여하여 ebXML 레지스터리에 저장된 비즈니스 프로세스 명세서의 유용성을 증대시킬 것이다.

  • Computing has been making a lot of progress in the quantity of data, today. It's going to be more difficult to get appropriate information as the number of data increases dramatically. Therefore it's more important to get meaningful information than to focus on the speed of processing. Semantic web enables an intelligent processing by adding semantic information to data, and it is useful to make ontology system. In this Paper, we implemented ontology Processing system which support function for ontology and efficient processing for practical service. We proposed system design for independent from storage, storing technique for RDB, caching technique by schema information and useful user interface.

  • Today, according to tremendous development of B2B e-commerce, B2B e-marketplaces which accomplish various types of transactions through a number of buyers and sellers on online are embossed importantly. However, buyers are unable to search correct products because of inconsistency of product information between buyers and sellers. This paper solved this problem as semantic web technology. Semantic Web is an extension of current Web in which information is given well-defined meaning, better enabling computers and people to work in cooperation. The Semantic Web aims at machine-processable information. Its underlying technologies are RDF, RDF Schema, and ontology as the shared formal conceptualization of particular domains. In this paper, we present an implementation of Semantic Web enabled search system for B2B E-Marketplace domains. The system exploits OWL as the standard ontology language proposed by W3C and the Jena which is a Semantic Web toolkit, namely a Java framework writing Semantic Web applications. Finally, we summarize our experiences and discuss future research topics.

  • In this paper, we propose a topic maps matching and merging approach based on the syntactic or semantic characteristics and constraints of the topic maps. Previous schema matching approaches have been developed to enhance effectiveness and generality of matching techniques. However they are inefficient because the approaches should transform input ontologies into graphs and take into account all the nodes and edges of the graphs, which ended up requiring a great amount of processing time. Now, standard languages for developing ontologies are RDF/OWL and Topic Maps. In this paper, we propose an enhanced version of matching and merging technique based on topic partitioning, several matching operations and merging conflict detection.

  • This research proposes a concept of multi-aspect Social IoT platform that enables human, machine and service to communicate smoothly among them, as well as a means of an automatic process for transforming exiting domain knowledge representation to generic ontology representation used in the platform. Current research focuses on building a machine-based service interoperability using sensor ontology and device ontology. However, to the best of our knowledge, the research on building a semantic model reflecting multi-aspects among human, machine, and service seems to be very insufficient. Therefor, in the research we first build a multi-aspect ontology schema to transform the representation used in each domain as a part of IoT into ontology-based representation, and then develop an automatic process of generating multi-aspect IoT ontology from the domain knowledge based on the schema.

  • With the proliferation of EC, many customers have been participating into online auction or group-buying market over searching internet shopping-malls to purchase goods. To support the customer's convenient transaction, lots of agent systems are developed to facilitate the customer's product brokering, merchant brokering, and negotiation of transaction. However, many of these systems have focused upon supporting transaction at only one type of marketplace. Since these marketplaces have different transaction settlement mechanism, it is necessary to develop the system that utilizes the customer's transaction including the selection of the type of marketplace to buy. Then we classify the kinds of B2C electronic marketplace according to the protocol by which the market operated. The structure of negotiation message is developed using XML schema and RDFS under the characteristics and message example of each marketplace in this research.

  • 디비피디아 온톨로지는 위키피디아에서 구조화된 데이터를 추출한 지식 베이스이다. 이러한 지식 베이스의 자동 증강은 웹을 구조화하는 속도를 증가시키는데 큰기여를 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국어 디비피디아를 기반으로 새로운 트리플을 입력받아 기존의 지식 베이스를 자동 증강시키는 시스템을 소개한다. 스키마를 자동 증강하는 두 가지 알고리즘은 최하위 레벨인 인스턴스가 지닌 프로퍼티, 즉 rdf-triple 단위에서 진행되었다. 알고리즘을 사용한 결과 첫째, 확률적 격상 방법을 통해 단계별로 입력받는 인스턴스와 하위 클래스의 프로퍼티를 이용하여 상위 클래스의 스키마가 정교해졌다. 둘째, 이를 바탕으로 타입 분류가 되어 있지 않았던 인스턴스들이 가장 가까운 타입에 자동 분류되었다. 지식 베이스가 정교해지면서 재분류된 인스턴스와 새로운 트리플셋을 바탕으로 두 가지 알고리즘은 반복적으로 작동하며, 한국어 디비피디아 지식 베이스의 자동 증강을 이루었다.

  • World Wide Web is not more meaningless sea of information but is becoming the Semantic Web that provides many users with meaningful information. The starting point is the XML and metadata, RDF is a stopover which gives technique to relate arbitrary web resources. And now, the semantic and logic of web resources can be settled in the Ontology. A lot of educational multimedia web resources in Korea have produced their metadata with KERIS's KEM(Korea Educational Metadata). Therefore our country have to start the study of the semantic and logic in web resources. But, many researchers in Korea are more eager to study Dublin Core's DC and SCORM's LOM metadata specification than KEM. Thus the study of method about sharing and integrating these three metadata specifications should be performed before the study of semantic and logic in web resources in Korea. We design the Ontology to integrate these three metadata specifications and implement the prototype system using this Ontology. These three metadata have some elements that have same labels and meanings, and other elements have different labels and same meanings. To match these different labels which have same meanings, we adapted the one-to-one mapping technique in designing our Ontology. This designed Ontology was imported as "integrated schema" in our prototype searching system to integrate three different metadata in databases. Moreover we know that the more specific property design of class in Ontology was needed in order to provide users with more informed searching results such as synonym, antonym, hierarchy and associations.
