가미소요산(加味逍遙散)이 지단백산화(脂蛋白酸化)에 따른 RAW 264.7 활성(活性)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Gamisoyosan(GS) on LDL Oxidation in RAW 264.7 Cell.)

  • The oxidative modification of low density lipoprotein(LDL) has been implicated in the development of atherosclerosis. Oxidized LDL are found in macrophage foam cell, and it can induce an macrophage proliferation in atherosclerotic plaque. In this study, we investigated the hypothesis that gamisoyosan(GS) may reduce atherosclerosis by lowering the oxidiazability of LDL, To achive this goal, we examined the effect of GS on LDL oxidation, nitric oxide production in mouse macrophage cell line, RAW264.7, and the effect of GS on cupuric sulfate-induced cytotoxicity, LDH release, and macrophage activity. GS inhibited the generation of oxidized LDL from native LDL in RAW264.7 cell culture, and decreased the release of LDH from cupric sulfate-stimulated RAW264.7 cell. In other experiments, GS activated RAW264.7 cell, and prolonged the survival time, and increased nitric oxide production in Raw 264.7 cells.

디지털 사진기록물 관리를 위한 Raw 이미지 파일 포맷의 도입에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Introduction of Raw Image File Formats for the Management of Digital Photographic Records)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 Raw 이미지 파일 포맷의 특성과 문제점을 분석하고, 디지털 사진기록물 관리에 적합한지 평가하고, 공공기관에서 Raw 이미지 파일 포맷을 활용하기 위한 도입 방안을 제시하는 것이다. Raw 이미지 파일 포맷은 적용된 이미지 편집을 되돌릴 수 있는 가역성과 편집자의 의도를 효과적으로 반영할 수 있는 유연성을 지닌다. 하지만 Raw 이미지 파일 포맷의 대다수가 디지털카메라 제조업체에 종속된 독점 파일 포맷이라는 문제가 있다. Raw 이미지 파일 포맷을 표준화하기 위해 개발된 DNG 포맷은 해외 공공기관에서 긍정적인 평가를 받고 있다. 그러나 공식 표준 혹은 사실상 표준으로 완전히 인정받지 못했다는 한계가 있어 표준 Raw 포맷이 등장하기까지 잠정적으로 활용하는 것이 적합하다. 한편, 대검찰청에서 포맷 변환한 디지털 사진 파일을 법적 진본성을 가진 원본으로 인정하지 않는다는 문제가 있다. 따라서 단기적으로는 포맷 변환하여 생성한 DNG 파일과 원본 Raw 파일을 캡슐화하여 병행 보존하고, 장기적으로는 포맷 변환하여 생성한 DNG 파일만으로 법적 진본성을 인정받을 수 있도록 디지털 사진기록물의 해시값과 파일 크기 기준 시점을 재정의할 필요가 있다.

주요곡물의 에너지 함량 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Estimation of Metabolizable Energy Content in Cereal)

  • This study was undertaken to determined the metabolizable energy of cereal by the different method. Raw or cooked cereal foods were freeze-dried and fed to Sprague Dawley rat with 200-300g body weight to measure apparent metabolizable energy(AME) values and nitrogen-corrected AME(AMEn) values for four days after three days of preliminary period for adaptation to the diets. The AME values of Karaeddok, raw rice, cooked rice, raw brown rice, raw glutinous rice, cooked glutinous rice, raw barley and cooked barley applerared 4516.1, 3380.6, 4072.2, 3457.0, 4448.0, 2929.4 and 3780.2kcal/kg dry matter, respectively. The AMEn values of karaeddok, raw rice, cooked rice, raw brown rice, cooked brown rice, raw glutinous rice, cooked glutinous rice, raw barley and cooked barley appeared 4421.5, 3349.6, 4160.0, 3918.7, 4039.3, 3572.0, 4552.5, 3009.9 and 3873.4kcal/kg dry matter, respectively. A slight difference was observed when the AME values of the cereals measured in present study were compared with the energy values calculated by various conversion parameters such as Atwater's, Rubner's, Sochun's adn FAO's, indicating that the latter energy values by all conversion factors are acceptabel for several cereals.

  • Production of cyclodextrin (CD) directly from raw corn starch without liquefaction using cyclodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase) was carried out in an agitated bead reaction system. Similar CD yield and production rate comparable with those of conventional method using liquefied starch were obtained. Especially high purity-CD in the reaction mixture without accumulation of malto-oligosaccharides was obtained. The maximum 54g/l of CD was obtained at raw starch concentration of 200g/l. CD yield was inversely proportional to raw starch concentration, and conversion yield was 0.48 at substrate concentration of 100g/l. The optimal amount of enzyme (CGTase unit/g raw starch) was found to be around 6.0. Granular structure of raw starch degraded by CGTase was observed by SEM in order to investigate the enhancing mechanism, along with those of acid or alkali pretreated raw starch, amylose, and amylopectin. Kinetic constants of CGTase on raw starch in an agitated bead reaction system were evaluated, and CGTase was competitively inhibited by CD.

건조유무에 따른 황기 추출물의 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Raw and Dried Astragalus membranaceus Extracts)

  • Purpose: This study was carried out to investigate the availability of raw Astragalus membranaceus as a food ingredient. Methods: Raw and dried A. membranaceus water extracts were used to examine the free radical scavenging activity, polyphenol and flavonoid contents, and antimicrobial activity. Also, the sensory characteristics of each water extracts were evaluated. Results: The free radical scavenging activity and total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of raw A. membranaceus extracts were higher than those of dried A. membranaceus extracts. The antimicrobial activities of raw and dried A. membranaceus extracts were examined against several food borne illness-causing microorganisms using the paper disc diffusion method. Inhibition zones were observed in Staphylococcus aureus subsp. aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruglnosa, Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica, Escherichia coli and Bacillus cereus treated with raw extracts. Inhibition zones were observed in B. subtilis, P. aeruglnosa and S. enterica subsp. enterica treated with dried extracts. Raw A. membranaceus extracts had higher scores than dried extracts in sensory evaluation. Conclusion: Raw A. membranaceus was better in antioxidative, antimicrobial activities, and sensory characteristics than dried one.

Combustion and Mechanical Properties of Fire Retardant Treated Waste Paper-Waste Acrylic Raw Fiber Composite Board

  • Shredded waste newspapers, waste acrylic raw fibers, and urea-formaldehyde (UF) adhesives, at 10% by weight on raw material, were used to produce recycled waste paper-waste acrylic raw fiber composite boards in laboratory scale experiments. The physical and mechanical properties of fire retardant treated recycled waste paper-waste acrylic raw fiber composite boards were examined to investigate the possibility of using the composites as internal finishing materials with specific gravities of 0.8 and 1.0, containing 5, 10, 20, and 30(wt.%) of waste acrylic raw fiber and 10, 15, 20, and 25(wt.%) of fire retardant (inorganic chemical, FR-7®) using the fabricating method used by commercial fiberboard manufacturers. The bending modulus of rupture increased as board density increased, decreased as waste acrylic raw fiber content increased, and also decreased as the fire retardant content increased. Mechanical properties were a little inferior to medium density fiberboard (MDF) or hardboard (HB), but significantly superior to gypsum board (GB) and insulation board (IB). The incombustibility of the fire retardant treated composite board increased on increasing the fire retardant content. The study shows that there is a possibility that composites made of recycled waste paper and waste acrylic raw fiber can be use as fire retardant internal finishing materials.

등급제 실시 이후 제주산 원유의 품질 변화 (Changes of the Chemical and Microbiological Quality in Milk from Jeju-Do after Raw Milk Grading System)

  • 본 실험은 원유 등급제 실시 이후(1993년 6월), 원유의 유질 개선 실태를 파악하고자 실시하였다. 본 실험을 통하여 제주산 시유를 비롯한 유제품의 청정 고품질 이미지 화산과 국제 자유 도시 계획 수립을 위한낙농 산업 육성 자료로 활용코자 제주산 원유의 화학적 조성과 미생물학적 품질을 조사 분석하였다. 착유시설은 등급제 실시 이후 많이 개선되었고 또한 타도와의 비교에서도 많이 개선되었다. 전착유 실시 및 예냉기 설치와 자가 노동력 비율은 높았으나, 체세포수와 관련이 깊은 유방염 정기 검사 실시 농가 비율은 낮았다. 세균수 등급은 1등급A 출현율이 80.64%로 실시 이전에 비해 많이 개선되었고, 여름철에는 세균이 많이 검출되었으나, 전국 평균치와 별 차이가 없었다. 체세포는 1등급이 38.5%, 2등급이 32.0%로 여름철에 체세포수가 많았으며, 전국 평균치를 약간 상회하는 수준이었다. 일반 성분에서 년평균 지방 함량이 3.90%로 실시 이전보다 향상되었으며, 여름철에 낮았고, 전국 수준과 비슷하였다.

  • 생사와 PET로 구성된 혼섬유 재료에 대해 여러가지 조건에서 알칼리 감량을 실시하여 감량율을 조사하고, 감량촉진제가 정련, 감량에 미치는 영향에 대해 검토한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 감량촉진제의 농도 증가에 따라 생사의 연감율은 감소한 반면, PET의 감량율은 증가하였다. 2. 알칼리농도 증가에 따른 감량율의 경향 차이는 인정되지 않았지만, PET의 감량율은 증가되었다. 3. PET "A", "B"와 생사로 된 혼섬유의 감량에서는, 적당한 생사의 정련과 PET의 감량이 동시에 이루어질 수 있었다. 4. PET "D", "E"와 생사로 된 혼섬유의 감량에서는, 생사는 적당한 정련이 이루어질 수 있었으나 PET의 감량율은 미미하였다. 5. 생사와 PET로 된 교직물의 감량에 있어서 생사는 전형적인 연감곡선 형태를 나타냈으며 PET는 처리시간의 경과에 따라 감량율이 계속해서 증가하였다.나타냈으며 PET는 처리시간의 경과에 따라 감량율이 계속해서 증가하였다.

물김(Pyropia sp.)의 생산 시기별 및 지역별 주요 식품 성분 변화 분석 (Analysis of Seasonal and Regional Changes in Major Food Components of Raw Laver Pyropia sp.)

  • The study investigated the seasonal and regional changes in the food components of raw laver Pyropia sp.. Samples were obtained monthly from December 2017 to March 2018 at auction markets located in Gangseo-gu, Busan (Nakdong-raw laver), Seocheon-gun, Chungnam, Wando-gun, Jeonnam and Goheung-gun, Jeonnam. The general components, heavy metals and minerals, free amino acids, total phenolic compounds (TPC), and antioxidant activities of the samples were analyzed. No significant physicochemical changes in the moisture, crude lipid, and ash contents were observed in the raw lavers tested. However, the crude protein content of Nakdong-raw laver was the highest in December 2017 at $7.20{\pm}0.28%$ and the content was higher seasonally and regionally than those of the other raw lavers. In addition, the taurine, zinc, manganese and TPC contents of Nakdong-raw laver was higher seasonally and regionally than those of the other raw lavers. The ethanolic extract of Nakdong-raw laver also had higher antioxidant activity, including as DPPH (2,2'-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) and ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis [3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid]) radical scavenging activity, although there was no significant correlation between TPC and the antioxidant activity. This study is the first analysis of seasonal and regional changes in the major food components of raw laver cultivated in Korea.

Risk assessment of vibriosis by Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio vulnificus in whip-arm octopus consumption in South Korea

  • This study evaluated the risk of foodborne illness from highly pathogenic Vibrio spp. (Vibrio vulnificus and V. cholerae) by raw whip-arm octopus (Octopus minor) consumption. In total 180 samples of raw whip-arm octopus were collected from markets and examined for the prevalence of V. vulnificus and V. cholerae. Predictive models describing the kinetic behavior of Vibrio spp. in raw whip-arm octopus were developed, and the data on amounts and frequency of raw whip-arm octopus consumption were collected. Using the collected data, a risk assessment simulation was conducted to estimate the probability of foodborne illness raw whip-arm octopus consumption using @RISK. Initial contamination levels of Vibrio spp. in raw whip-arm octopus were -3.9 Log colony-forming unit/g, as estimated by beta distribution fitting. The developed predictive models were appropriate to describe Vibrio spp. in raw whip-arm octopus during distribution and storage with R2 values of 0.946-0.964. The consumption frequency and daily consumption amounts of raw whip-arm octopus per person were 0.47% and 57.65 g, respectively. The probability of foodborne illness from raw whip-arm octopus consumption was estimated to be 8.71 × 10-15 for V. vulnificus and 7.08 × 10-13 for V. cholerae. These results suggest that the risk of Vibrio spp. infection from raw whip-arm octopus consumption is low in South Korea.
