  • This paper analyzed radio link throughput performance by applying radio link simulation and test equipment because there is limit in train filed test in 420 km/h high speed environment. According to the radio performance analysis, the throughput performance is slightly degraded in QPSK and 16QAM modulation schemes. But throughput performance is highly degraded in 64QAM modulation scheme.

  • The PRC-999K radio widely used in Korean Army is half-duplex and also has the broadcasting radio wave character that all subscribers listen when one subscriber speaks in time. The radio data communication system configures a 1:1 unicast network between a command post and network members in a military fire control system. The system also applies CSMA/CA technique to avoid data collision and additionally applies SDLC protocol for efficiency and fast communication. This paper shows that allocating address to network members in serial order can reduce data transmitting/receiving time, and thereby a command post needs to broadcast data only one time and the assigned members can reply in order without data collision. It is validated through an experimental test.

  • This paper proposes a design of asymmetric time division multiple access method for tactical radio communication. Typical tactical radio communication has a limited execution of transmission, because uplink message requires more extended response time than downlink message. In order to solve this problem, this paper analyzes operational environment of Korean tactical radio communication and proposes an asymmetric TDMA based on it for performance of tactical communication. The simulation model is used to investigate constraints of real experiments for proving effectiveness of the proposed approach. Simulations results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional scheme in terms of throughput, response time, and delay.

  • Cognitive radio has been attracting increased attention as an effective approach to improving spectrum efficiency. One component of cognitive radio, spectrum sensing, has an important relationship with the performance of cognitive radio. In this paper, after a summary and analysis of the existing spectrum-sensing algorithms, we report that the existing eigenvalue-based semi-blind detection algorithm and blind detection algorithm have not made full use of the eigenvalues of the received signals. Applying multi-antenna systems to cognitive users, we design a variety of spectrum-sensing algorithms based on the joint distribution of the eigenvalues of the received signal. Simulation results validate that the proposed algorithms in this paper are able to detect whether the signal of the primary user exists or not with high probability of detection in an environment with a low signal-to-noise ratio. Compared with traditional algorithms, the new algorithms have the advantages of high detection performance and strong robustness

  • In order to derive reliable propagation models for future millimeter-wave frequency indoor pico-cellular communications systems, accurate reflectivity data of building materials is necessary. The broad variety of building materials and construction codes makes accurate attenuation prediction very difficult without the support of specific construction data or measurements. This paper derives a transmission and reflection coefficient based on 13 GHz to 28 GHz measurement data. Transmission and reflection is measured by applying change in the reception angle of each building material, such as plasterboard. The transmission and reflection coefficient derived shows a correlation between frequency dependence and angle. As a result, as the reception angle is reduced, the reflected angle from the transmitter that could be received increases, showing that there is a correlation. In addition, the fundamental investigations carried out lay the foundation for radio channel-related research, which is essential for the development of future millimeter-wave communications systems.

  • This paper proposes architecture of a cognitive radio engine platform and the allowable frequency channel reasoning method that enables acquisition of the allowable channels for the military tactical network environment. The current military tactical wireless communication system is increasing need to secure a supplementary radio frequency to ensure that multiple wireless networks for different military wireless devices coexist, so that tactical wireless communication between the same or different systems can be operated effectively. This paper presents the allowable frequency channel reasoning method based on cognitive radio engine for realizing DSA(Dynamic Spectrum Access) as an optimal available frequency channel. To this end, a case-based allowable frequency channel reasoning method for cognitive radio devices is proposed through modeling of primary user's traffic status and calculation of channel occupancy probability. Also through the simulation of the performance analysis, changing rate of collision probability between the primary users' occupancy channel and the available channel acquisition information that can be used by the cognitive radio device was analysed.

  • Electromagnetic waves which are emitted from the Sun due to solar flare explosion can cause failures in HF radio communications in the day-side area of the Earth, that is so-call as Radio Blackouts. The international scale representing the severity of the Radio Blackouts is determined by the solar X-ray flux which is measured by United States Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite. However, the scale is not always applicable to HF communication users in the different area on the Earth, because the HF communication effects depend not only on the X-ray strength but also on the subsolar point location. To solve this problem, we developed a HF radio spectrum monitoring system utilizing a spectrum analyzer. This system conducts a real-time measure of the HF spectrum, and automatically calculates signal to noise ratios and the occurrences of the HF blackouts as comparing with the interference level which is described from the ITU recommendation.

  • Recently, new devices have been developed for the Internet of Things concept. The devices commonly use RF (Radio Frequency) based wireless communication. With the increase in the number of devices, the space allocated for the radio frequency band in wireless communication fills rapidly. Visible Light Communication (VLC) is an alternative, secure and economical communication technology that uses light instead of radio frequencies. While Web of Things (WoT) is the adaptation of the experience and knowledge acquired from the web into the internet of things ecosystems. By combining these two technologies, the development of the Visible Light Communication for Web of Things (VLC4WoT) system, which can use VLC and WoT technologies, has been our motivation. In our study, microcontroller control circuit was created for VLC4WoT system. Control of the circuits over the internet was performed. VLC based receiver and transmitter units have been developed for wireless communication. Web based interface was created for control. The test apparatus consisting of four objects with four outputs and a transfer unit was carried out. In this test, communication was achieved successfully. It was presented in the study that VLC can be used in the web of things architecture. In the future, it is envisaged to use this system as a safe and economical system in indoor environments.

There is a place where it accomplishes the communication which is safe at the TRS from research which it sees it investigates group key distribution method which is an essential element. The method which it sees when it reduces a communication frequency, it stands but is the user, it proposes the efficient group key distribution method it will be able to accomplish.
