A Novel Nucleic Lateral Flow Assay for Screening phaR-Containing Bacillus spp.

  • Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) synthase is a key enzyme for PHA production in microorganisms. The class IV PHA synthase is composed of two subunits: PhaC and PhaR. The PhaR subunit, which encodes the phaR gene, is only present in class IV PHA synthases. Therefore, the phaR gene is used as a biomarker for bacteria that contain a class IV PHA synthase, such as some Bacillus spp. The phaR gene was developed to screen phaR-containing Bacillus spp. The phaR screening method involved two steps: phaR gene amplification by PCR and phaR amplicon detection using a DNA lateral flow assay. The screening method has a high specificity for phaR-containing Bacillus spp. The lowest amount of genomic DNA of B. thuringiensis ATCC 10792 that the phaR screening method could detect was 10 pg. This novel screening method improves the specificity and sensitivity of phaR gene screening and reduces the time and cost of the screening process, which could enhance the opportunity to discover good candidate PHA producers. Nevertheless, the screening method can certainly be used as a tool to screen phaR-containing Bacillus spp. from environmental samples.

  • 본 논문에서는 Shunt capacitor와 OLTC가 함께 설치된 154kV 변전소에서 송출전압을 고려한 두 기기의 협조제어 시스템에 대해 연구하고자 한다. Shunt Capacitor는 전압제어뿐 아니라 외란이 발생할 경우 안정도 제어에 매우 유용한 중요 기기이다. 그러나 비상시 안정도 제어에 참여하기 위해서는 평상운전 시 적정한 운전여유를 확보하고 있어야 한다. 또한 Shunt capacitor와 OLTC의 특성과 상호작용을 고찰하여 Shunt Capacitor의 무효전력 보상 여유를 유지하고 전압의 변동을 방지하면 OLTC의 탭동작을 최소화하여 고장의 요소를 방지하는 협조제어를 제안한다.

프로젝트 팀 리더의 역할과 팀성과 (Project Team Leader's Roles and Team Performance)

  • This Study has empirically examined the relationship between the role of R & D project leaders and their team performance using data from 87 project teams in 6 R & d organizations. The results reveal that : 1) R & D project leaders play five different roles for performing their jobs-strategic plannar, team builder, gatekeeper, expert and champion : 2) all but the champion role of leaders are positively associated with project team performance unless they have too short team tenure to materialize their role efforts : 3) However, the relationship between the role of leaders and project team performance varies according to characteristics of their team and project tasks. More specifically, it becomes more important for leaders to focus on gatekeeping and championing roles as their team gats older. Team building role of leaders is more important for higher performance of relatively certain R & D projects, while for uncertain R & D projects gatekeeping role appears to be more important.

  • Methanolic aqueous extracts of 100 plants were screened for antioxidative activity using Fenton's reagen/ethyl linoeate system and free radical scavenging activity using DPPH free radical generating system. The results suggest that at least six plants including Eugenia caryophyllata, Alpinia offiicinarum, Rhus verniciflua, Curcuma longa, Rheum palmatvm and Evodia officinalis may be the potential sources of antioxidant, But only one plant, Cornus officinalis, may be the potential source of free radical scavenger from natural plants.

  • SiH$_{4}$환원에 의한 selective CVD-W 공정에서 SiH$_{4}$ 유속의 W막 특성에 대한 효과를 조사하였다. 0.7$_{4}$/SW$_{2}$(=R)<0.9에서 .betha.-W이 나타나기 시작하여 SiH$_{4}$ 유속의 증가에 따라 .betha.-W의 함량은 게속 증가한다. W막의 표면 형태도 SiH$_{4}$유속의 증가에 따라 나뭇잎 모양(R<0.5), 흐릿하고 불안정한 모양(0.70.9에서는 주상의 결정립을 나타낸다. R.leq.0.7에서는 .alpha.-W만 존재하다가 0.7$_{4}$유속의 증가에 따라 증착속도와 W막의 정기저항이 증가한다. 특히, R.geq.0.9에서 전기저항이 급증한다. SiH$_{4}$유속의 증가에 따라 선택성이 악화되며 특히 1.1
