In order to compare collected strains of Naematoloma sublateritium, electrophoretic isozyme and RAPD band patterns of DNA from mycelia were studied. The two characteristics of the strain, ASI 11010 were much different from those of ASI 11005 and 11006. These patterns may be used as valuable criteria for identifying strains of N. sublateritium. Optimal conditions on the vegetative growth of N. sublateritium using sawdust media were favourable on alder sawdust media added with 30% beer waste. Optimal water content was 70%.
Objective: We investigated the impact of vitamin D3 (VD3) supplementation during mouse preantral follicle culture in vitro and the mRNA expression of 25-hydroxylase (CYP2R1), 1-alpha-hydroxylase (CYP27B1), and vitamin D receptor (VDR) in mouse ovarian follicles at different stages. Methods: Preantral follicles were retrieved from 39 BDF1 mice (7-8 weeks old) and then cultured in vitro for 12 days under VD3 supplementation (0, 25, and 50 pg/mL). Follicular development and the final oocyte acquisition were assessed. Preantral follicles were retrieved from 15 other BDF1 mice (7-8 weeks old) and cultured without VD3 supplementation. Three stages of mouse ovarian follicles were obtained (preantral, antral, and ruptured follicles). Total RNA was extracted from the pooled cells (from 20 follicles at each stage), and then reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction was performed to identify mRNA for CYP2R1, CYP27B1, and VDR. Results: The survival of preantral follicles, rates of antrum formation and ruptured follicles (per initiated follicle) and the number of total or mature oocytes were all comparable among the three groups. Both CYP2R1 and CYP27B1 were expressed in antral and ruptured follicles, but not in preantral follicles. VDR was expressed in all three follicular stages. Conclusion: VD3 supplementation in vitro (25 or 50 pg/mL) did not enhance mouse follicular development or final oocyte acquisition. Follicular stage-specific expression of CYP2R1, CYP27B1, and VDR was observed.
D,L-tryptophans were separated by using $Chirobiotic^{(R)}$ T HPLC column. Mobile phases were the mixture of methanol and water(70:30, 80:20, 90:10, v/v). Experimental temperatures were adjusted as 25, 40 and $55^{\circ}C$ in order to compare retention times. Difference in D,L-tryptophan retention times was studied in terms of the interaction between stationary phase and tryptophans. Selectivity, resolution and efficiency of column were utilized to find an optimum separation condition. Retention times were shortened by increasing the amount of methanol in mobile phase and the temperature of column. The best selectivity and resolution was obtained with the temperature($25^{\circ}C$) and the ratio of mobilephase(70/30 v/v%).

This study was carried out for 20 days in a bio-drying batch reactor under the blowing conditions of 0.75, 1.00, 1.25, and $1.50L/min{\cdot}kg$ in order to optimize the operating conditions for the bio-drying of food wastes. The decomposition rate of organic matter during the bio-drying operation period was analyzed using modified Gompertz model. The maximum organic degradation (P) was 2.31, 2.52, 2.27 and 1.88 kg at air flow rates of 0.75, 1.00, 1.25 and $1.50L/min{\cdot}kg$, and the maximum organic degradation rate was 0.33, 0.45, 0.28, and 0.18 kg/day at 1.00, 1.25 and $1.50L/min{\cdot}kg$, respectively, showing excellent organic decomposition efficiency at a air flow rate of $1.00L/min{\cdot}kg$. The lag growth phase time (${\lambda}$) of the bio-drying reactor was 2.10, 1.48, 1.15, and 1.06 days at 0.75, 1.00, 1.25 and $1.50L/min{\cdot}kg$, respectively. The water removal rate in the operation of bio-drying reactor of food waste increased with the increase of air flow rate from the early stage of bio-drying to the middle stage, and the highest water removal rate was observed at the air flow rate of $1.00L/min{\cdot}kg$ at the end of bio-drying. The optimum air flow rate condition of bio-drying reactor was $1.00L/min{\cdot}kg$.
Calliandra calothyrsus preserved in silage is an alternative method for improving the crude protein content of feeds for sustainable ruminant production. The aim of this research was to evaluate the quality of silage which contained different levels of C. calothyrsus by examining the fermentation characteristics and microbial diversity. Silage was made in a completely randomized design consisting of five treatments with three replications i.e.: R0, Pennisetum purpureum 100%; R1, P. purpureum 75%+C. calothyrsus 25%;, R2, P. purpureum 50%+C. calothyrsus 50%; R3, P. purpureum 25%+C. calothyrsus 75%; and R4, C. calothyrsus 100%. All silages were prepared using plastic jar silos (600 g) and incubated at room temperature for 30 days. Silages were analyzed for fermentation characteristics and microbial diversity. Increased levels of C. calothyrsus in silage had a significant effect (p<0.01) on the fermentation characteristics. The microbial diversity index decreased and activity was inhibited with increasing levels of C. calothyrsus. The microbial community indicated that there was a population of Lactobacillus plantarum, L. casei, L. brevis, Lactococcus lactis, Chryseobacterium sp., and uncultured bacteria. The result confirmed that silage with a combination of grass and C. calothyrsus had good fermentation characteristics and microbial communities were dominated by L. plantarum.
The electron spin resonanec of sigle crystals of L-alanine have been observed at T=300K, 100K and analyzed for different orieantations of the crystal in the magnetic field and at microwave frequency X-band. The stable free radical profuced by the irradiation is proved to be of the form CH$_3$CHR, where R is a group which has no nuclei with detectable coupling A notable dependence on temperature of the absorption was observed in the range from 1100K to 2l0K. It was concluded that the reorietation of the methy group of the radical H$_3$CCHR is quenched at low temperature.
To decrease the hysteresis of electric field induced strain, $Y_{2}$$O_{3}$ dopant of which amount is 0-0.8wt% was added to the (P $b_{0.73}$B $a_{0.27}$)(Z $r_{0}$ 75/ $Ti_{0.25}$) $O_{3}$ ceramics. Electromechanical coupling coefficients of the specimen with 0.1 Wt% $Y_{2}$$O_{3}$ were $k_{p}$=26.9% and $k_{31}$ =20.4%, which exhibited the maximum value at the constant bias electric field of 10 kV/cm. At the same $Y_{2}$$O_{3}$ addition amount, electric field piezoelectric constant ( $d_{3l}$) and strain(.DELTA.l/l) showed the maximum values of 139.6*10$^{-12}$ [C/N] and 126*10$^{-6}$ .DELTA. l/l respectively at 10 kV/cm electric field. And the hysteresis of strain showed the minimum value of 17.5%. So, we propose that it is possible to apply PBZT system with $Y_{2}$$O_{3}$ dopant to the electrostrictive actuator.r.r.
The crystal structure of an ethylene sorption complex of dehydrated $Ag_{12}-A $reacted with bromine vapor has determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group of Pm3m at 22(l)$^{\circ}$C (a=12.180(2) ${\AA}$). The crystal was prepared by dehydration of $Ag_{12}$-A at 400 $^{\circ}$C and $2 {\times} l0^{-6}$ Torr for 2 days, followed by exposure to 200 Torr of ethylene gas at 24(l) $^{\circ}$C for 1 hr. After the ethylene gas was evacuated for 1 hr, the crystal was exposed to 180 Torr of bromine vapor at 24(l) $^{\circ}$C for 1.5 h. The structure was refined to the final error indices, $R_1=0.066\;and\;R_2$ (weighted)=0.055, using 137 independent reflections for which I>3${\sigma}$I. About 55% of the sodalite unit contain two 6-ring $Ag^+$ ions and the remaining 45% contain $Ag_6$ molecules complexed to 2 $Ag^+$ ions at 6-ring sites to give $(Ag^+)_2(Ag_6).$ Upon sorption of ethylene, 4.75 ethylene molecules were sorbed per unit cell and of these, only 1.25 ethylene molecules were brominated by treatment of dibromine because of the limitation of the available space for the reaction products in the large cavity. In the large cavity, each of 3.5 $Ag^+$ ions forms a lateral ${\pi}$ complex with an ethylene molecule. About 2.5 8-ring $Ag^+$ ions per unit cell interact with 1.25 1,2-dibromoethane and each of ca. 1.25 6-ring $Ag^+$ ions also interacts with one of bromine atoms of 1,2-dibromoethane. Each bromine atom approaches a carbon atom with C-Br(l)=2.07(20) ${\AA}$ and C-Br(2)=2.07(10) ${\AA}$, respectively.

In this study, the effect of drying temperature on characteristics of the trivalent chromate film on electroplated zinc was investigated. An zinc-electroplated iron specimen with a thickness of 5 ㎛ was used for chromate treatment. Chromate treatment was conducted in a solution diluted 10 times from a mixture of Cr(NO3)3·9H20 360 g/L, Co(NO3)2·6H2O 60 g/L, Na2SO4 60 g/L, NH4F·HF 25 g/L, and NaOH 20 g/L. The zinc electroplated specimen was treated using the chromate solution with pH 2.0 at 25 ℃ for 60 s. Subsequently, chromate-treated samples were dried in an electric furnace for 2h with temperature varied from 25 to 125 ℃. The corrosion rate increased with the increase in the drying temperature, and the surface morphology of the chromate-treated film was observed using FE-SEM. When the drying temperature changed, the color of the chromate film changed from green to yellow, and the thickness of the film changed from 362 to 241 nm, respectively. Additionally, corrosion resistance was evaluated via a salt spray test.
Two neolignan compound, magnolol $(5,5^{l}-diallyl-2,2^{l}-dihydroxybiphenyl, 1)$ and honokiol $(5,5^{l}-diallyl-2,4^{l}-dihydroxybiphenyl, 2)$ were isolated from the stem bark of Magnolia obovata and evaluated for antifungal activity against various human pathogenic fungi. Compound 1 and 2 showed significant inhibitory activities against Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporium gypseum, Epidermophyton floccosum, Aspergillus niger, Cryptococcus neoformans, and Candida albicans with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) in a range of $25-100{\mu}g/ml$. Therefore, compound 1 and 2 could be used as lead compounds for the development of novel antifungal agents.
