세관내 R-134a의 유동특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Flow Characteristics of R134a in a Small Diameter Tube)

  • 본 논문은 세관내 R-134a의 유동특성을 실험적으로 조사한 것이다. 이에 대한 실험장치는 마그네틱 기어 펌프, 증발기, 수액기, 사이트 글라스, 응축기 계측기로 구성된다. 유동양식을 관찰하기 위한 사이트 글라스는 증발기 입출구에 설치하였다. 실험은 세관내 R-22와 R-134a의 유동특성을 살펴보기 위해서 수행되었다. 이에 대한 실험변수인 냉매질량 유속은 100에서 1000 $kg/m^2s$이고, 포화온도는 $30^{\circ}C$이다. 증발과정 중의 유동양식에서 2 mm의 세관내 환상유동은 8 mm관의 대구경관에 비해 저건도와 저질량유속에서 발생하였다. 본 실헐 결과와 종래의 유동양식 선도와 비교한 결과, 2 mm의 세관내 증발 유동양식은 Baker, Mandhane, Taitel-Dukler의 유동양식 선도와는 큰 차이를 보였지만, Dobson의 유동양식 선도와는 좋은 일치를 보였다.

자동차 공조용 대체 냉매로서의 H냉매에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Fluid H in Automotive Air Conditioning System as an Alternative Refrigerant)

  • It is time to prepare the phaseout of R134a, the current refrigerant, in automotive air conditioning system because the EC deadline has been coming with new platform vehicles in 2011 and all vehicles by 2017. Until now a high-pressure carbon dioxide($CO_2$) system is the leading replacement of R134a in European auto-makers but there is no firm agreement in the world automotive market. Recently three new fluids have been announced as the possibilities from Honeywell, DuPont and INEOS Fluor. The new alternative refrigerant should meet the requirements like non flammable, non toxic, no ozone depletion effect and low GWP(under 150 to meet EC regulation). The objectives of this paper are to review the fluid H from Honeywell, the more possible alternative refrigerant in 3 new fluids, compare the properties of R134a & fluid H and see the possibility as a replacement of R134a. In this experimental paper we ran and reviewed the cooling performance data in the bench system, the vehicle and the field test. We found the possibility of fluid H system to meet the R134a system performance with some hardware modifications but agreed that it is still needed to study about the long term safety, environmental effects, material compatibilities and so on.

  • The present study has been conducted to design the high efficiency centrifugal compressor for a R134a turbo-chiller. The centrifugal compressor consists of an impeller with splitters, two vaneless diffusers, a low-solidity vaned diffuser and a volute. A cycle analysis program for a turbo-chiller was developed to obtain compressor design parameters and requirements. We have designed the high efficiency centrifugal compressor by applying the repeated design procedure including a meanline design, a 3D geometry generation and fluid dynamic loading calculations.

  • In this study, the overall performance and the effect of the tip leakage flow of the centrifugal compressor with the refrigerant HFC-l34a were numerically studied using CFX-TASCflow. To study the effect of a tip leakage flow, the numerical study of the overall performance of HFC-l34a centrifugal compressor with a cascade diffuser was preceded and compared with experimental result. Six different tip clearances were used to consider the influence of a tip clearance on performance. The tip leakage flow was illustrated for qualitative discussion. The results obtained in this study can be applied to the determination of the cold clearance.

  • In this study, the overall performance and the local flow field of the centrifugal compressor with the refrigerant HFC-l34a were numerically studied using CFX-TASCflow. The thermodynamic and transport properties of the refrigerant gas were modeled by REFPROP which is NIST refrigerant properties database. The impacts of a grid qualify, discretization scheme, turbulent model and interaction between a impeller and a cascade diffuser were analyzed comparatively. The results were compared with experimental data and 1-D design results using COMPAL and agreed well with others. The numerical method and data obtained in this study can be applied to the design and modification of centrifugal compressors with real gases

  • As the environmental regulations is more strengthened, the study of the renewable energy system and waste heat for electricity production is being accelerated. In this study, the performance and power generation rate of solar power generation by using R134a Rankine cycle was analyzed with solar radiation and mass flow rate of R134a. As a result, the maximum and minimum collected heat of solar collector was 20.4 kW and 13.6 kW at October and December, respectively. Besides, the highest generator power was generated at October and it was 0.91 kW/day, while the lowest generator power is occurred at December and it was about 0.85 kW/day.

  • This paper deals with refrigerant-oil mixtures in a dehumidifying cycle. Two different oils such as Alkylbenzene(AB) and Polyol-esters(POE) lubricants are used for R134a to investigate the effect of miscibility on oil returnability. It was found that R134a/AB mixture had more unstable interface between oil and refrigerant than R134a/POE mixture. However, overall flow patterns of both refrigerant-oil mixtures were almost same. The minimum height of oil measured in the compressor was as high as twice of the least permissible height of oil in the compressor required to insure its reliability. Thus, it is considered that immiscible oil, i. e., AB for R134a can be used without causing oil returnability problem.

평활관군의 R-134a 흐름비등에 관한 연구 (R-134a Flow Boiling on a Plain Tube Bundle)

  • In this study, flow boiling experiments were performed using R-134a on a plain tube bundle. Tests were conducted for the following range of variables; quality from 0.1 to 0.9, mass flux from $8\;kg/m^2s$ to $26\;kg/m^2s$ and heat flux from $10\;kW/m^2s$ to $40\;kW/m^2s$. The heat transfer coefficients were strongly dependent on the heat flux. However, they were almost independent on the mass flux or quality. The data are compared with the modified Chen model, which satisfactorily () predicted the data. Original Chen model, however, did not adequately predict the effect of quality. The reason may be attributed to the flow pattern of the present test, where the bubbly flow prevailed for the entire test range. The heat transfer coefficients of the tube bundle were 6~40% higher than those of the single tube pool boiling.
