R-134a의 열역학적 물성치 계산과 냉동 성능에 관한 연구 (Calculation of the Thermodynamic Properties of R-134a and A Preliminary Study of the Refrigeration Performance)

  • The thermodynamic properties of R134a, the prospective R12 alternative, have been computerized using Martin-Hou equation of state and the coefficients given by Willson-Basu. Several experimental results in literatures for PVT data, saturated vapor pressure, saturated liquid density are compared with the calculated results to investigate the accuracy. The average deviation (max. deviation) is 0.13% (0.25%) for saturated liquid density, 0.25% (0.8%) for PVT data. Thermodynamic properties, enthalpy, entropy are compared with the NIST's. The maximum percent difference is 3% for saturated liquid enthalpy, 1.5% for saturated vapor enthalpy, 4% saturated liquid entropy, and 0.7% for saturated vapor entropy. Correction of W-B's coefficients and inclusion of the sixth term of M-H EOS for improvement of accuracy are recommended. R134a and R12 are compared with respect to refrigeration performance. COP's are different from each other within 3%. Refrigeration effect of R134a is superior to that of R12 but refrigeration capacity of R134a is inferior to that of R12 because the volumetric efficiency of the system using R134a is lower than that of the system using R12.

  • One of the chlorofluorocarbon compounds. R-12 deplete atmospheric ozone. It leads to international agreement to reduce CFC production. R-134a has similar thermodynamic properties to CFC-12. It has zero ODP(Ozone Depletion Potential). This Paper focuses on the lubricating oils for using with R-134a PAGs(Polyalkylene Glycol's) and esters are primary lubricants that are now being tested for use with R-134a Because of extreme polarity of R-134a. there are many problems in the selection of lubricating oil. This investigation analyzes compressor working conditions and calculates wear parts friction for simulation testing. Miscibility and material compatibility is proved by sealed glass tests. Friction was tested on the closed type pin on disk wear tester. This equipment simulates actual refrigerating compressor. Environment controlled test made more reliable result than field test Conventional oils(mineral oils, Alkylbenzene, PAO(Polyalpha Olefin) are immiscible with R-134a. PAGs and ester oils are miscible with R-134a. Friction coefficient is similar to conventional system(mineral oil/R-12 systems) at operating condition. At start & stop condition, PAGs/R-134a system has high friction coefficient. It provide reliable result on the lubricity, miscibility, material compatibility of R-134a with these new lubricants. It suggests proper selection of refrigeration oil that may improve compressor durability of performance.

실차를 이용한 자동차 에어컨 냉매 누출량 평가 (Measurement of R-134a Leakage from Vehicle Equipped Mobile Air Conditioning(MAC) System)

  • 자동차 에어컨 냉매로 사용되어온 CFC-12는 1991년부터 1994년에 걸쳐 HFC 계열의 냉매인 R134a로 대체되었으며, R-134a는 현재자동차 에어컨 냉매로 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 R-134a는 지구온난화 지수(GWP)가 1,300으로 매우 높으며, 교토의정서에서 정한 6대 온실가스 중에 하나로 포함되어 누출량 관리 및 대체 냉매 개발이 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 자동차에서 배출되는 $non-CO_2$ 온실가스 배출량 산출을 위한 기초연구로 실차 상태에서의 에어컨 냉매 누출량을 분석하기 위하여 가변온도밀폐실(VT shed)과 Running loss test shed를 이용하여 R-134a의 농도변화를 측정하였다. 대상차종에 대한 주차상태에서 R-134a 누출량을 분석한 결과, 연간 누출량이 6.46~13.28 g/yr 수준으로 기존의 에어컨 시스템을 이용한 누출량 분석결과와 유사한 수준으로 분석되었다. 동일 모델 차량에 단일증발기를 적용한 차량과 이중증발기를 적용한 차량에 대해 냉매 누출량을 비교한 결과, 단일증발기로 구성된 에어컨이 적용된 차량에 비하여 이중증발기가 적용된 에어컨이 장착된 차량에서 누출량이 높게 나타났다. 이는 이중증발기 적용에 따라 에어컨 시스템 구성시 연결부위(호스, 접합부 등)가 추가되면서 해당 부위에서의 누출이 증가된 것으로 보인다. 또한, 차속별 R-134a 농도변화를 분석한 결과, 고속주행시(100 km/hr) 냉매 누출이 증가하였으며, 송풍량 증가에 따른 누출량 변화는 나타나지 않았다.

2중 관형 열교환기내 비공비혼합냉매 R-22+R134a의 응축열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (Condensation Heat Transfer Characteristics of Non-Azeotropic Refrigerant Mixture(NARMs) Inside Double Pipe Heat Exchangers)

  • Experimental results for forced convection condensation of non-azeotropic refrigerant mixtures inside a horizontal smooth tube are presented. The mixtures of R-22+R-134a and pure refrigerants R-22 and R-134a are used as the test fluids and a double pipe heat exchanger of 7.5mm ID and 4800mm long inside tube is used. The range of parameters are 100-300kg/h of mass flow rate, 0-1.0 of quality, and 0, 33, 50, 67, and 100 weight percent of R-22 mass fraction in the mixtures. The heat flux, vapor pressure, vapor temperature and tube wall temperature were measured. Using the data, the local and average heat transfer coefficients for the condensation have been obtained. In the same given experimental conditions, the liquid heat transfer coefficients for NARMs were considerally lower than that of the pure refrigerant of R-22 and R-134a. Local heat transfer characteristics for NARMs were different from pure refrigerant R-22 and R-134a. In some regions, local heat transfer coefficients for NARMs were increased in the following order ; Bottom$\rightarrow$Top$\rightarrow$Side. The condensation heat transfer coefficients for NARMs increased with mass velocity, heat flux, and quality, but were considerably lower than that of pure refigerant R-22 and R-134a.

  • Isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium(VLE) data have been obtained for the systems of propane(R290)+1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane(R134a) and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane(R134a)+isobutane(R60A) in the temperature range of 253.15 to 323.15K. Experiments were performed in a circulation type apparatus by injecting vapor through liquid pool using a magnetic pump. Both systems form azeotropes in the temperature range of this study. The experimental results were estimated with the Peng-Robinson equation of state. When the temperature-dependent binary interaction parameter was used in the Peng-Robinson equation of state, the absolute average deviation of the measured bubble point pressures from the values correlated by the Peng-Robinson equation was 0.65% and 0.78% for R290+R134a and R134a+600a, respectively. Azeotropic compositions for both systems were presented.

대체냉매 R430A를 적용한 정수기 냉동시스템의 성능 평가 (Performance of R430A on Refrigeration System of Domestic Water Purifiers)

  • In this study, thermodynamic performance of R430A is examined both numerically and experimentally in an effort to replace HFC134a used in the refrigeration system of domestic water purifiers. Even though HFC134a is used predominantly in such a system these days, it needs to be phased out in the near future in Europe and most of the developed countries due to its high global warming potential. To solve this problem, cycle simulation and experimental measurements are carried out with a new refrigerant mixture of 76%R152a124% R600a using actual domestic water purifiers. This mixture is numbered and listed as R430A by ASHRAE recently. Test results show that the system performance with R430A is greatly influenced by the amount of charge due to the small internal volume of the refrigeration system of the domestic water purifiers. With the optimum amount of charge of 21 to 22 grams, about 50% of HFC134a, the energy consumption of R430A is 13.4% lower than that of HFC 134a. The compressor dome and discharge temperatures and condenser center temperature of R430A are very similar to those of HFC134a at the optimum charge. Overall, R430A, a new long term environmentally safe refrigerant, is a good alternative for HFC134a requiring little change in the refrigeration system of the domestic water purifiers.

  • Recently, as the climate of temperature change has happened worldwide, To solve this problem, Kyoto protocol was taken to regulate global warming on Feb. 2005 and each country is making efforts to prevent global warming. In the automotive industry, R-134a refrigerant is widely used most these days because it has zero ODP(Ozone Depletion Potential). But R-134a GWP(Global Warming Potential) is so high. Therefore, replacement refrigerant desperately is needed as a alternative refrigerant. So, R-l52a is considered as one of the alternative refrigerants due to zero ODP and lower GWP against as required on Europe Committee. In this paper, performance of the air conditioning system between R-134a and R-152a is investigated experimentally. In the bench level, cooling capacity, condensing capacity, COP of automotive air conditioning system are ovaluated by means of air velocity entering the condenser and compressor revolution speed with optimized charge refrigerant quantity. Result of this study, R-152a refrigerant shows the possibility as alternative refrigerant of current R-134a in automotive air conditioning system.

자동차용 냉매가 환경에 미치는 영향

  • 환경친화적 자동차에 대한 관심이 커질수록 여러 분야에서 시스템 설계의 영향을 더욱 더 잘 이해하려는 노력이 진행되고 있다. 자동차용 냉방기의 경우 냉방시스템의 세밀한 분석과 환경에 미치는 영향을 최소화하기 위한 설계가 이루어지고 있다. 그 중에서도 냉매의 선택과 그 냉매의 환경적 영향에 대한 자세한 연구가 필요하다. 몬트리올 조약 이후 자동차 산업계는 대부분 R-134a를 채택하고 있는데 이는 R-134a가 오존층을 파괴하지 않을 뿐 아니라 적절한 사이클 효율을 가지면서 안전하고 비독성이며 불연성이기 때문이었다. 최근 지구온난화와 이산화탄소($CO_2$)의 발생원에 대한 관심은 산업계가 사용냉매를 재검토하게 하는 계기가 되었으며, R-134a도 교토 조약의 규제냉매에 속해 있어 자동차용 냉방기의 대체냉매에 대한 연구가 시급하다고 여겨지고 있다. R-134a와 관련된 주된 논점은 냉매 누설시의 영향이다. R-134a의 지구온난화지수(GWP)는 1,300인데, 이는 누출되었을 때 1,300배의 이산화탄소가 누출된 것과 동일하다는 것을 의미하다. 최근 자연냉매의 선호와 맞물려 냉매로서 이산화탄소의 평가에 많은 관심이 모아지고 있다. 본 글에서 자동차용 냉방기의 대체냉매로서 이산화탄소의 상대적인 장점과 R-134a와의 비교에 대해 수행된 연구결과를 나타내었다.

수평관에서 R22 대체냉매 및 R134a의 포화증기 온도변화에 따른 외부 응축 열전달계수에 관한 연구 (External Condensation Heat Transfer Coefficients of R22 Alternative Refrigerants and R134a According to the Saturated Vapor Temperature Change on a Smooth Tube)

  • In this study, external condensation heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) were measured on a horizontal smooth tube at the saturated vapor temperature of $30^{\circ}C,\;39{\circ}C,\;and\;50^{\circ}C$ for R22, R410A, R407C, and R134a with the wall subcooling of $3\~8^{\circ}C$. The HTCs of all refrigerants are the highest at $30^{\circ}C,\;39{\circ}C,\;and\;50^{\circ}C$ in order. This trend is due to its excellent thermodynamic properties of the liquid phase. The measured data of HTCs were compared with the calculated ones by Nusselt's equation for a smooth tube. Measured HTCs of R22, R134a, R410A are $4.2\~7.5\%$ higher than prediction respectively while those of R407C are $15.6\~28.9\%$ lower than the prediction.

This mixture is numbered and listed as R435A by ASHRAE recently. Test results show that the system performance with R435A is greatly influenced by the amount of charge due to the small internal volume of the refrigeration system of the domestic water purifiers. With the optimum amount of charge of 21 to 22 grams, about 50% of HFC134a, the energy consumption of R435A is 11.8% lower than that of HFC134a. The compressor discharge temperature of R435A $8^{\circ}C$ lower than that of HFC134a at the optimum charge. Overall, R435A, a new long term environmentally safe refrigerant, is a good alternative for HFC134a requiring little change in the refrigeration system of the domestic water purifiers.
