Background and purpose: We previously developed questionnaire of Bojungikgitang systom on the Delphi method through the pathogenesis analysis. But developed a questionnaire was not verified in the clinical. So, to ensure objectivity, quantification and validity, verification is needed for questionnaire items before applying a clinical. On this study, we looked at whether questionnaire items had been validity in the clinical. Methods: Surveys conducted about 191 patients at 12 oriental medicine hospitals. Among them, patients with Bojungikgitang systom(group I) were 95, and patients with no Bojungikgitang systom(group II) were 96. We calculated that the sum of each item in the survey and then the sum was reviewed statistically significant difference through Independent samples T test between group I and II. Results: Between group I and II, the total sum survey of the percent difference is meaningful (P<0.05). Conclusions: Reliability analysis of the Bojungikgitang systom survey research is needed in the future. Also I think that research should proceed about a lot of people.
The purpose of this study was to assess the nutrition education and training needs as a basis for program planning for day care providers. A sample of 239 day care teachers responded to a questionnare assessing demographic characteristics, nutrition education experiences, and measuring the level of basic knowledge of food & nutrition. Menu planning was added to the questionnarie for 158 day care center directors. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1) majority(92.5%) of day care teachers and 74.1% of day care directors were interested in receiving nutrition education and training programs. 2) The topics generating the greatest interest for day care teachers were good food habits, food preparation & meal planning and food sanitation. 3) As a result of measuring the level of basic nutrition knowledge, day care teachers possessed the moderate amount of knowledge about five basic food groups, cholesterol, protein containing food, fat, while they possessed the poor knowledge about vitamin and calorie. 4) Day care teachers and directors possessed a certain level of knowledge about what the good snacks are and how to teach the unbalanced diet oriented children, while they possessed a low level of knowledge about children's nutrition requirement.
This study was performed to assess the relationships among bone mineral density, anthropometric measurements, maternal factors and exercise in premenopausal and postmenopausal women. Anthropometric measurements were taken by a trained practitioner and the maternal factors of the 78 subjects in Gyeonggi-do were acquired by an interview questionnare. The BMD of the lumbar spine(L2~L4), femoral neck, Ward's triangles and trochanters were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. The mean age of the premenopausal women was 45.23 years and that of the postmenopausal women whose ase of menopause was 49.37 years was 61.27 years. The age, waist and waist to hip ratio of postmenopausal women were significantly higher than those of premenopausal women. BMD of the lumbar spine(L2~L4) in postmenopausal women was significantly higher than that of premenopausal women. Number of children and age at last delivery were significantly higher in postmenopausal women than those in premenopausal women. The BMDs of the lumbar spine and femoral neck of premenopausal women was positively correlated with weight, body mass index, waist and WHR and the BMDs of these two sites in postmenopausal women were positively correlated with height, and weight. In postmenopausal women, BMD of the lumbar spine was negatively correlated with duration time after menopause and BMD of the femoral neck was positively correlated with age at last delivery. These results suggest that it is necessary to maintain adequate body weight. Health management and education about performing more exercise are recommended for postmenopausal women to prevent osteoporosis.
Data were collected using questionnare to 102 post-mastectomy patients visiting the out-patient department at Catholic University St. Mary Hospital and Kang Nam St. Mary Hospital from October, 1998 to January, 1999 in order to provide the basic data for development of nursing intervention which can help patients' emotional and sexual adaptation to treatment outcome as well as increase quality of life by studying spouse support, sexual satisfaction and marital intimacy of patients. Spouse support and sexual satisfaction were measured with the tool developed by Soon-bok Jang (1989). Marital intimacy was measured with the tool developed by Waring (1984) and improved by Sook-nam Kim (1998). Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, multiple comparison by Duncan. Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows ; 1. Spouse support in the group of 6 month or less post-operative period was higher than that of 13 to 36 month period. 2. Sexual satisfaction in the group college graduation or above was higher than that of high school and middle school graduation. 3. Marital intimacy in the group of 61 month or above post-operative period was higher than that of 6 month or less and 13 to 36 month period. 4. The higher spouse support results in the higher sexual satisfaction and the higher marital intimacy according to a positive correlation. 5. The main effective variable on marital intimacy was spouse support. and the effectiveness showed $31.09\%$, while it was $43.06\%$ including sexual satisfaction and post-operative period.

(4) Father's child-rearing behaviors and SES were the most important predictor variables influencing on children's role-taking. (5) Children's sex, children's role-taking and father's childrearing behaviors were the most important predictor variables influencing on children's prosocial behavior. The findings stated above seemed father's child-rearing behaviors and children's role-taking, influenced on children's prosocial behavior.
The purpose of this study was to identify the degree of self-care activities of stroke patients, the family burden, and the educational needs of primary caregivers. A descriptive survey research was conducted in 97 stroke patients and their respective primary caregivers. Data were collected by the interviews using a structured questionnare from July 26th to August 5th, 1999. NIH stroke status was $12.15{\pm}8.40$, the degree of self-care activities of stroke patients was $26.85{\pm}9.39$. The score of objective burden of primary caregivers was $31.24{\pm}4.81$ and subjective burden was $24.30{\pm}6.99$. The score of the educational needs was $89.78{\pm}9.99$. We present several imformations about clients from these scores as follows: The patients were convalescent and their depentant level of self- care was middle range; The objective burden was higher than the subjective burden; And the educational needs of family caregivers were very high. The Elain Mattis Educational Wants of Family Caregivers of Disabled Adults Questionnaire was used to assess the educational needs of primary caregivers of stroke patients. The results of this research are offered to help nurses understand the feelings of uncertainty about the new and unexpected role that family caregivers face and to help nurses meet the needs of families preparing to care stroke survivors at home.
Objectives : This study was founded to identify the differences of stress responses, according to Sasang Constitutions (the Taeyangin, Taeumin, Soyangin and Soumin) of highly stressed oriental medicine college students. Methods : The subjects were 76 students who majored in oriental medicine. We processed 'University students Stress Scale', and 'Medical Stress Scale'. We selected 30 students who stressed higher than average. We then processed 'QSCC II (Questionnare for the Sasang Constitution Classification II)' and 'Scale for the Stress Response'. Collected data was analyzed with the SPSS 19.0 for windows statistical program. Results : The university students stress score of oriental medicine students was 1.97 that was higher than the other college students. The medical stress score was 2.77, which was similar with other medical college students. The symptoms of stress score was 2.53, which was higher than the others. Particularly, the depressive syndrome and rage syndrome were highly ranked. The frequently appearing symptoms of each type of Sasang Constitutions (the Taeyangin, Taeumin, Soyangin and Soumin) showed as follows. The Soyangin's symptoms of stress showed in order of Anxiety, Depression, and Emotional irritability. The Soumin's symptoms of stress showed in order of Depression, Emotional irritability, and cognitive disorganization. The Taeumin's symptoms of stress showed in order of Anxiety, Depression, and Emotional irritability. However, there was were no significant differences among the results of each constitution. Conclusions : The results show that oriental medicine students have as much stress as other medical college students and there was tendency of showing different patterns of stress response, according to Sasang Constitution, but it's not significantly different.
This study was performed to assess the effect of eating behaviors and health-related variables on overall dietary quality. Ninety-four(male 21, female 73) elderly who were over 60 residing in middle income areas in Cheongju city participated. Information on general characteristics of the elderly, health-related life style, regularity of meal, meal balance and desirable eating habits were obtained by interview based on questionnare. Dietary nutrient intake data were obtained through the 24 hour recall method. The mean age and BMI of the subjects were 73.3 years old and 23.3(male 21.8 female 23.7) respectively. The proportions of underweight and hypertension were 19.2% and 36.2%. Most nutrients except vitamin $B_2$ and calcium were consumed over 75% of the RDA. The Mean Adequacy of Ratio(MAR) of nutrient intake was 0.64(male 0.72, female 0.62). The average score of regularity of meal, meal balance, and desirable eating habits was 14.4 out of a possible 16, 13.7 out of a possible 24 and 5.5 out of a possible 16 points respectively. Male than female, older subjects than young subjects, and those living with their spouses than with other family or living alone had better scores in eating behaviors. Smoking, chewing ability and eating alone vs eating with company affected overall of regulality of meal and meal balance(p<0.05). Positive correlation (p<0.05) was also dietary quality. There was a positive correlation between the mean adequacy ratio, score observed between scores in regularity of meal and meal balance. Therefore, the elderly should be encouraged to eat a variety of food, maintain good dental health, keep regularity of meal and have meals with company to help improve overall dietary quality and eventually achieve optimal nutritional status.
